endure pain
No, endure pain has its place as there are coupl of seconds where you mitigate all direct damage.
It’s good to be able to resist the first burst of the pain melee train. Which mostly downs 60% of the enemie.
First troll to receive 10/10

Its great for the first few seconds of damage. As others have stated, we can survive through what would normally down others, but it certainly is not an “i win” button. And that i like.
Endure Pain is the best defensive skill we have period.
It will absorb thousands of damage, without any secondary effect, it’s easily much better than any other tool we have.
Defy pain is unreliable tho.
It’s very rare to trigger it as most times you’re under 25% the next hit is death, it should trigger at 50% to be worth taking.
I personally think the only thing endure pain is some reduced cooldown. 60 seconds or perhaps a trait that makes it 20% less to all stances. Otherwise, its not a bad stance at all.

Thats kinda what i was getting at with changing it altogether, that we could get a reduced cd. I dont disagrre, its a nice skill to survive the first burst, but its still going to be on cd before their burst skills recharge.

Exactly!
I think 60s would be a perfect CD for Endure Pain.
90s is simply way too long.
Its pretty worthless when facing a condition class. Or multiple.
Its pretty worthless when facing a condition class. Or multiple.
It’s use is not really against condition classes though.
It’s to survive the first few seconds of a huge clash or, if dealing with a group with multiple enemies, it can even be used to mitigate the auto attacks which actually add up quickly if you dive in first.
Adding condition resistance into Endure Pain would make it so OP
Not that I would mind…

Im pretty sure some of the other classes invulnerability skills block condition damage.

Sorry, I’m not that well versed in other classes.
So, there is a skill that lets you attack normally while blocking both direct damage and condition damage? The only classes I have ever played are Mesmer and Warrior
Did a bit of Guardian in the mists and thoroughly enjoyed that… but I’m too heavily invested in my Warrior to change now lol
Warrior’s Shield Stance blocks EVERYTHING and has a 30 second cooldown. Defy Pain is nice if you have some Toughness to back it up so you don’t get bursted down from 25% health to 0. Endure Pain’s long cooldown is its only downside, but it’s still a really great utility skill to have.
