the damage that skill does is unreal. 1700 toughness and it hits for 16,000 hp? can only imagine what that is doing to a glass cannon?! How is a skill that can one shot some professions balanced.

Evis is much weaker than it used to be. In fact for PvP mainhand axe is not the best choce anymore considering the auto attack damage nerf. Final Thrust on sword actually deals around the same damage on foes under 50% health, which is typically when you used Evis anyways.

I have NEVER seen a Evis one shot for 16k. I think at most you’ll see Around half that on glassy light armored foes. Unless you post a screenshot of a combat log of it hitting like that I can’t say I believe you. Sounds like another case of a non-warrior thinking warriors are OP. Is this PvP or WvW? Either way I doubt you could hit for 16k without having a ton of vuln stacks and that would mean multiple people would of had to stack them without damaging you to get a “one shot.”

EDIT: I’m talking from a PvP perspective here, not WvW. In PvP, if you ran something that glassy you would never survive long enough for it to connect and players would stun break Shield Bash making your chance to crit much lower because you’d be running 30/10/0/0/30. I can’t see you being overly successful, although when it does get that big crit it’s funny.

Sorry, but I refuse to put much faith in WvW montages. They show ONLY the success, and without knowing gear of the other player for all you know they’re running around in all Masterwork gear. Even the players with food buffs seem to never use and CC on you which would just ani I mean you’re hitting 3k auto attacks and there’s no way anyone who is properly geared out is going to be hit that hard. Not to mention your build has no stability and no way to deal with conditions. The people in this video seem to not know how to stop someone from fleeing, only to not pop a stun breaker when it’s obvious after the Shield Bash what’s coming next. The Shatter mesmer played his build so poorly I almost cried.

All these videos proved to me is how low the average skill level of PvP players are.

Pretty much this.

Lots of skills that hit just as hard in WvW on many classes. That’s why you shouldn’t take WvW balance seriously. Just zerg and be happy, isn’t that what you guys do there most of the time?

It’s doable with full GC. I do it all the time for kitten and giggles. Try full zerker+food+power stacks+sharpening stone+ full power line for 15% power on full burst.

Try that with kill shot+long bow. Killshot one shot an up arrow in the front of the zerg, they go to rez him, even before waiting for them to go to him use your Arrow 3, then 5 then Burst -sometimes I use sigil of accuracy to fill my bar immediately-. You will drop 1 or 2 extra people beside him because it hits so hard.

For the OP, toughness means nothing in this game. If you don’t have protection up, you CAN be bursted..hard. If toughness was so good, why do you think the warriors with the highest toughness in the game are the worst class?

I’ve been full tanky and been hit by 7k backstabs. Means nothing.

The main thing is that the person attacking you is a glass cannon warrior that can’t evade dodge away as easily and so it is fair. A thief on the other hand is unfair because they can stealth/teleport away and reset the fight over and over.

That’s way you see people complaining of GC thieves in wvw and not warriors.

Eviscerate is both strong and weak. When it crits in the right build, it’s devastating. When it doesn’t, you were probably better off not even using it. It’s an unreliable burst skill without some method of ensuring it crits… Blame it on crit damage.

Yeah, that argument worked a few months ago before they started obviously balancing WvW individually. Gotta come up with some new material.

Additionally, as you can see, insane damage isn’t exclusive to the warrior.

Every single class is capable of atleast one attack that can burst for large amounts. And you have to pump up crit chance and damage a lot to do that, which means sacrificing a lot of defense. If someone hit you that hard and you survive it, turn around and hit him with everything you’ve got, because he wont be able to take a beating for very long. It’s a high risk, high reward kind of thing for every class who can do that, except thief who has high reward and no risk because of stealth and can just wear cavaliers gear and still be tanky and still hit like a truck because of that trait that gives them 100% crit chance when attacking from stealth. And warrior has the unfortunate fate of having most of their moves being very obviously telegraphed, so you know what’s coming. If you get 1 shot by a warrior, you deserve it because you weren’t paying attention.

I agree with nikkinella, almost any class is able to hit extremely hard if they build glass cannon in WvW.

Elementalist - Fire Grab: I’ve seen that hit for 20K once
Thief - Backstab: Can hit 10K’s on a non glass cannon and 20K+ on upleveleds
Necro - Lich Form: I’ve had it hit 7K autos per hit, could probably go higher
Guardians - #2 from great sword, forget what it is called, but if specced well it can hit for 12K+ on people
Ranger - Maul: See the video above
Engi - I’ll admit I don’t know much about them, i know 100 nades back in the day was pretty brutal, not sure if it still does close to that amount of damage
Mesmer - Their damage is mostly a combo, but if you use blurred frenzy and shatter 3 clones on somebody that can be 20K+ instant on the right target, phantasmal warlock, duelist and swordsman also hit like trucks
Warrior - well you already know, killshot, eviscerate, final thrust, hundred blade, etc

/sarcasm Yes, eviscerate is a bit much, that is why every warrior runs it and you hear screams about how op it is on a daily basis.

Edit…kitten it! I’m watching these videos, now I’m going to want to invest in full Zerker gear on both. I want to 22k Eviscerate a thief!

Oh its fun once in a blue moon to go full glass and snipe people with either axe or rifle.

Down side first thief within 900 feet instantly kills you.
