fastest way to level warrior to 80?
just wondering what you guys do. i only ask cuz i know hot is coming soon. and im gonna level a revenant but will want to come back to warrior too (double norn goodness). im level 23 right now, tried doing WVW but i followed one train and then everyone disappeared (i watched them disappear one by one, i have no idea where they went, they were no longer on the map, iw kitten confused as it was the first time i ever wvw and i didnt really know what i was doing)
PvP is good for the level up tomes. If you don’t pvp then the best place to level is Edge of the Mists. EotM is especially good when you’re the green color, because green is OP and has all the largest servers together.

Click the WVW tab like you would to enter WVW, but instead of joining a WvW map, you join EoTM. Just look to the right of where you would join a Borderland Map or Eternal Battlegrounds. And that’s where you join EoTM.
With EoTM and WvW, there is always three colors. Red is the color with the lowest server rating, blue is middle rating, and green is top rating. So if you enter EoTM when you’re green, you’ll have the largest zerg compared to blue and red. Which makes it easier to kill the other server players as well as take their forts and such.
Kagamiku’s advice is excellent. Aside from his suggestions, you can also consider crafting professions (Chef, Jeweler) as a good way to level up. And of course, basic PvE exploration works fine as well.
To answer your questions:
- Most WvW servers use community-based vocal servers (e.g. TeamSpeak), so it’s best to ask for access rights, so as to follow the commander instructions in real time. Note that leveling in WvW is not easy, you’ll get focused and killed (because you’d be an easy target, and every target you have tagged will be revived upon your death – “rezbot” concept).
- The Edge of the Mists is a WvW map, mostly used by PvE players to farm champion mobs. As any WvW map, it stages fights between 3 factions: green, red and blue. In EotM, the green side has the advantage over the other two (the map is unbalanced).
- To access the Edge of the Mists, just press “B” and hit the button “Edge of the Mists”, located at the bottom right of the popup, in the map selection tab.
Rather than posting in the Warrior forum, you might want to post in the Players Helping Players forum, for all general questions, as people there are quite competent in guiding newcomers.
Finally, welcome to Guild Wars 2, and enjoy your stay!
i wanted to do armorer/weaponcrafting for more skin unlocks
but i guess i did edge of the mists that time then, i thought i did wvw (didnt know they were different things)
how do you figure out where people are going? the one group said platinum something GOGOGO and they all started disapearing, i have no idea where they went.

In the end, you’ll probably have all craft professions, for instance 2 different ones per character. Some professions are cheaper than others to master, i.e. you level up in a more profitable way (less money invested for the levels). Have a look at gw2crafts, which gives you the price of leveling a profession up to 400 or 500, as well as decent roadmaps to do so.
In EotM, when a commander thinks his zerg is on the verge of annihilation, he/she usually requests that players teleport back to one of the two spawn points, to avoid getting killed. Check out the minimap for the commander tag, to check his/her location.
I just play other characters until I get enough experience scrolls and then go from 0-80 in 2 mins.
