Guild Wars 2

Hey peeps , quite new to the game and i’ve done some research on the warrior profession, but all the “popular/top” builds require quite a bit of gold since the recommended runes/sigils are as much as 15-17g on the TP.

Was wondering if anyone could suggest some sort of “budget warrior build” or an alternative that will allow me to contribute to dungeon groups, and is still sufficient for soloing areas.

How much gold do you have? What do you want a build for PVE?

Well, since you are a new player. I guess you can get by with cheap lvl 80 yellows until you get enough to afford exotics. I have like 5000 badges of Honor from wvw and I can’t remeber the last time I ever bough gear off the TP. But yeah thats what I would do if I were you.

When I started the game most people just ran around in Greens and yellows and blues lol no body back then had exotics.

We ran dungeons way before they were rebalanced in broken gear and white items and stuff. Good old days. Noobs these days have no clue how to play anymore.

I would say just get into dungeon like COF p1 + p2, AC p1 + p3, together they will give you 5g+ per day. After each run you can buy an exotic piece off of TP.

You can going join these even in green. Other people on the forum is going to flame me for saying this, but you gotta start from somewhere. For AC, just make sure there is at least 1 ele, and look at youtube to learn the fights.

Ya I forgot about that yah do what Bogmonto said to get your exotics just run COF like he said. But before you do that get a full set of yellow gear honestly you atleaset need something to go in the dungeon with.

Yah well let them flame. There are a bunch of over privileged PVE noobs that troll the forums that don’t know half of what they think they know.

Do some wvw even eotm to get some (almost) free zerk armor.
use 5 runes of infiltration (which are cheap) and an opale orb on your helm. These runes are good but not really used because they ain’t optimal. 6/6 suck that’s why I recomend 1 opal orb.
You can buy some zerk weapons on TP which would cost you around 1po30 each if not less.
use a bit of karma to buy some trinkets and your good to start farming every dongeons of this game. Making money and upgrading your gear bit by bit.

Conditions builds are cheap and effective so long as you are the only condition character in the group.

Build wise , as in weapons/traits/utility skills/runes/sigils ..got any suggestions ?
i’ll check out the options you’ve already listed but i wanna expand my options :P, the more the merrier!

I’ve managed to get some good weapons from the pvp track rewards (atm i’ve got a great-sword,longbow,mace,2x sword,shield) been kinda fiddling around with those …not quite sure whats most effective yet though.

regarding to the build, what would you like to do? WvW zerg, WvW roam, Pve? Do you like power based (bigger number) vs conditional based (smaller number over time)?

I was thinking about something flexible that works well with …well…crappy gear :P
my main focus would be PvE for starters. (power or conditions …not really concerned as long as I’m not useless to the group …wich atm i feel like i am :P)

For pve, you are safer to go power based. The gear I would recommend is

Weapon: Zerker GS, axe, mace, and hammer (for wvw stuff).
Armor: full knights or with some soldier is useful for both wvw and pve. full zerker if you want to do pve only.
Trinket: full Zerker.

for runes: Get Hoelbrak, you can use it for everything. Strength if you get the gold (13g x 6).
for sigil: at least get one Sigil of battle.

You should be pretty good at doing everything with above, just respec at different situations.

atm, i’ve got only 11g …so the hoelbrak runes are out of the picture xD. any alternative suggestions ? and trait wise what would u suggest in terms of allocating points?

For rune, just whatever strength based rune that’s cheap, and yeah ruby orbs is good (I forgot about it)

i like me some ruby orbs ! :P cheap …im gonna stick with that until i farm up some gold for the soldier runes and im gonna go for a mix of soldier and knight armor so i can do some WvW on the side…hopefully i can get some gear slowly but surely cheers folks. See you in game
