I want to make a build that can meet the DPS checks that sometimes come up in various dungeons/fracs as well as being an asset to my guildies (most of the time we have very little DPS) but I dont want to get zerker and realize on higher level fracs and in places like arah i will get one shotted by everyone and their mothers. Does anyone know if knights is viable at pumping out close to the same damage while actually surviving or is knights just lowering dps while not giving me anything (noticeably) survivability wise

I have soloed Arah p2, p3 and most of p4 (couldn’t do Simin) on Warrior with Berserker-gear.

In high levels fractals you get one-shot anyway.

If you feel like screwing your own damage to survive nothing more, go knights.

Although when you give up and go play a Guardian because everything kills you if it so much as sneezes at you, we’ll understand.

It’s not really true, at least for warrior. And where you DO get one-shotted it has nothing to do with vit and toughness.

What you need to understand is that having knights gear and lots of toughness tends to attract mob attention a lot. And while it increases your damage resistance, you’ll still die quite quickly unless you dodge and kite and stuff like that.

You can try using knights gear as a starter gear. But use zerk trinkets.

well i tried three builds
Vit toughness-28k hp 3.3 to3.5k tuff -extreamly bad dps horrible in WvW
Beserker- Big damage numbers, group dependent in dungeons, bad in frac 15+ ,confined to zerg groups in WvW
Draconic knights -3.3 to 3.5k tuff- descent but not exceptional dps-good in dungeons,fracs , vulnerable to condition damage in WvW otherwise unbeatable.
