Without gimping your self how much can you mix and max maces, axes, and swords?

Pretty easily for a power build. Most of the standard builds don’t trait the one-handed weapons, and each brings something different:

• Axe: Pure damage
• Mace: CC and a block
• Sword: Mobility

most offhand-1h seem a bit weak, many warriors running shield or warhorn. but they all good in the main hand, though serve different purposes as explained by Choppy.

Thats a little bit simplistic. but no inaccurate. Warrior one handed weapons have an ongoing theme of hybrid. None of them are pure condi, only axe is pure damage, made requires body blow, and distracting strikes to be effective, Sword has the mobility, middle of the road damage with condies.

So here is a more detailed discription

Sword

• Mainhand has mobility, bleed, and burst damage.
• Offhand had torment, adrenaline gain(though its crappy) and a ranged attack
• Works best with Sheild, Warhorn, and axe off hand

Axe

• Pure damage.
  *Mainhand has great auto attack, Cleave potential, and an underwelming cripple
• Works best with shield, and Axe offhand.

Mace

• Requires Body blow and distracting strikes to be useful
• Great CC, decent direct damage, slow
• Works best with shield, Warhorn, Sword off hand

Taking it all in perspective

• If you dual wield, Either go full power or hybrid
• If you go Hybrid, use Sword Sheiled for mobility
• If you go mace take distracting strikes and body blow
• If you go axe, go axe/axe
• If you go sword go sword/sword or sword/axe
• Never go pure condi when running a melee build.

offhand axe and sword in my opinion are sub par in pvp.

Combos I stay away from
axe offhand- skill 4 is weak and skill 5 is weak to retaliation
sword offhand- short term block is ok. Sword throw is meh
