They could buff S/S instead. That is our Condi build.

A single warrior running phalanx build with 2 staff ele’s in a dungeon group has near 100% of 25 might stack uptime, i don’t see what this new build brings to the pve scene.

Its a condi heavy build for spvp, ele’s and guardians can already inflict upwards of 10 stacks of burning in an extremely short period of time on you if you are not careful so i don’t see this as game-breaker either.

Yeaaa, introducing a new offhand weapon to try to make condi viable isn’t changing the playstyle like… like at all. It’s just another choice to use but fundamentally warriors will play the exact same. Personally I just think that someone at ArenaNet decreed that with the change to condi stack caps that condi have to be viable on every class and this is their push to do just that.

Personally I could be okay with this if the two torch skills were something new and interesting but they’re really not. Another ranged cripple? We’ve already got access to 5, no thanks. Cleansing conditions with fire? Sorry but guards and ele’s already do this, not much new here really. The mobile fire field sounds decent enough though so I will give them that.

I just I dunno, I’m not enthused by any of this, the torch, the burst skill updates, berserk mechanics it all just feels very… kitten. Torch giving us skills we don’t really need, berserk mechanic being the most literal interpretation possible, burst skill updates don’t make a ton of sense and our new physical skills are just normal skills that grant adrenaline. The sheer overwhelming lack of creativity in any of these mechanics just gets to me, it really sounds like they phoned this one in.

Maybe I’ll be surprised, I hope I will but it really feels like as more successive classes come out they’re each a little more lackluster and a little less thought out.

I just found that berserker = 100% meat= need fire = need torch to burn meat. so I think toally fine with condi for being berzerker if it is about fire burst dmg haha

And what about direct damage? We have already a large amount of incredibly powerfull damageing weapons (GS-Axe). What did they add more to a class entirely focused on direct damage?

They chose to make it a condition damage class. I think that it’s good.
Burn actually is barely OP and it’s damage can make the warrior able to inflict insane amount of condition damage.

We have still to see skills and traits of berserker specializzation in POI and then in action in the next BWE.
Before that we haven’t the chance to say if that specializzation is really good or bad.

Anyway there’s a lot of chances to change something if it’s not efficent, like about the reaper and it’s Shouts and GS.

Anyway… 3 condi cleaned (every 20-15 sec?) by the torch damaging AoE your enemies with burn and direct damage, plus always 3 condi cleaned every 5-7 seconds (we actually don’t know the cooldown of the next F1 rage skills) and more or less always adrenaline full why it bcomre really easy to full, proccing also the trait hp regeneration.

It looks great!

I think this bring new dimension for sword usage. Not complaining. If its’ might and power specs, we got plenty, dont we. There is no need for another power-spec trait line that serves nothing but distraction. Though there could be a more fitting name, that I agree.

I have to disagree with most of this, trying to force condi viability onto warriors is not a good thing, at least not this way. They haven’t updated warrior gameplay or made it more interesting or diverse at all, they’ve just designed a new class mechanic and new skills that happen to apply conditions but still make warriors function exactly and I mean EXACTLY the same as before. That lack of innovation really does not motivate me to play the class, I mean most of the new “primal burst” skills actually look less useful than the existing skills, rage skills contain nothing new or interesting at all, torch skills damage and effects look close to terrible, there is just so little innovation in any of this.

You also might want to pay attention to the amount and duration of the burning that most of these skills inflict, they’re extremely low. Take for example warriors GS “primal burst” skill that created concentric expanding rings, it seemed to put 2-3 stacks of burning on enemies for about 3 seconds, that is not good. I mean I suppose with condi duration runes and food it could be much better I guess we’ll have to see.

I also don’t care for this 5-7 sec Primal Burst stuff, burst skills are supposed to be big rewards that you consider when to use, not cheap throw away skills that you spam because they’re up and they give you a bonus.

All in all this just seems like American fast food game design, they figured if players liked warriors they would really like a lot more “warriorness”.

…and even if you take the two eles out of the picture, I’m not seeing torch outdoing Phalanx Greatsword in the party might department, especially when the Primal Burst for GS will have it’s own fire field to combo off of.

I don’t think it’s full Condi. It has a lot of burn access, but short duration. The skills have some good damage to them, and I really like all of the stuff I’ve seen…may make me want to play warrior over revenant it looks so entertaining
