Guild Wars 2

Hello!
I would love some help deciding how to build my warrior.
As the topic states, this is PvE, dungeons, fractals and some WvW.

I really love the sword and would like a build using that, am I more or less forced to play full conditions then or can I go semi tanky with PVT armor or would I be doing nothing good then?

I was thinking maybe building like this (only traits):

Then I got the option to chance Crack Shot for Forceful Greatsword for times I don’t need my rifle and switch to Quick Breathing in tactics when I use warhorn in WvW.

As I mentioned I like swords, both main and offhand, so I was thinking switching between Sword/Sword, Sword/Warhorn and Sword/Shield depending on encounter.

Now, what armor/trinkets should I focus on? What would be the wisest choice here? The feeling I get from warrior is to go PVT armor to be able to withstand some damage but it’s just a hunch

Please help me out here, almost time to buy t3 cultural armor :P

what you are trying to play here is a bleeding (sword) / power damage (rifle) hybrid while being tanky at the same time. i dont think many warriors have ventured down that road and can give you advice from experience. whatever kind of armor you take (pvt, knight, zerker, cleric) be sure to put zerker jewelry in your rings and accessory, those have the best stats tradeoff for power. and try to up your crit chance a bit or your power damage will be quite low! on first glance i would try knights gear in pve / wvw (carefull, not the same stats in spvp) for a good crit chance and use sigil of earth, but as i have no experience in this kind of build either, i guess you will have to find out yourself by trying a few stat combinations in spvp, its free there to build anything you like and test it out on the dummies or other players.

Yeah being the best at everything would be nice :P all kidding aside, I don’t really want to go full conditions with my warrior, it’s just that I like swords :P Maybe I should use axes or something instead. Rather be somewhat tanky tbh, since none of my other chars are.
Could you give me some advice on a better build. I sort of like the idea of PVT armor but is it good enough?

When you say zerker jewelry, do you mean like the entire ring as berzerker or just blablawhatever ring of the Berzeker.

You can use main-hand sword without diving into conditions, but once you go Sword/Sword you’re in condition territory.

You can definitely run a Rifle + Sword/Warhorn sniper in WvW. I have no idea how it’ll play in PvE though. You basically want to stack up as much Zerk gear as possible prioritizing trinkets/gems as that’s where your best return on investment is as far as Crit % goes.

so maybe I’ll have a good mix if I go PVT armor and full berserker trinkets (don’t really like full zerker, done it too much)? Should I go with ruby orbs or is there a really nice rune you’d advice on?

I use Zerk weapons and Trinkets with Soldier Armor for my WvW build and it works for me.

Runes are likely going to change based on your build and what you’re playing. PvP/WvW/PvE.
