you like axe #5? try this one:

http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fJAQNAsXTjMd04ZVIehwJagqgC9iHAbt6eoxzhUbAA-TpRHwADOEAf2fowDAIwJAAwRA4YZAA

(you can swap flame legion for hoelbrak if you like)

It is build around fire fields and combo finishers: Blast on longbow, leap on sword and whirl on axe. You inflict large amounts of burning to the enemy with some additional conditions from the sigils while still dealing power damage with whirling axe, combustive shot and final thrust.

The problems with your build: no longbow (poor condi cleanse, weaker on point), weak dps and only 1 burst with some cooldown. If you look for other axe builds, they are either berserker (wvw axe builds) or have longbow and sword for conditions to maintain dps outside of eviscerate.

Axe offhand will never get meta. It’s just bad in every way,low dmg..ppl can easily get out of the way,and the best thing,if youre hitting a guard with retal you’l end up taking 25% of your hp.

I’ve played sword+axe and LB in a celestial setup as well, and it’s pretty strong (although not as good as shoutbow). However, rather than going for a standard x/x/6/x/6 build, I went 0/5/5/0/4, considering that the build would better benefit from the increased condition damage (for the sword) and increased precision (for the axe). Traits were “III” (Deep Cuts) and “VI” (Furious Reaction).

Not using a longbow is indeed sub-optimal in PvP, but the longbow can become quite boring to play (it’s slow), so I understand players that want to try something else – i.e. find something enjoyable and working, even if it’s inferior to meta builds. Currently, I’m running a mace/shield+sword/axe berserker build, with might-on-block, and am having quite some fun with it.
