pls help a newbie
Add me as a friend and I’ll be happy to take you into a PvP room and train you. I’m not the best warrior out there but I love working with new players and seeing them get better.
I’d like to thank Emkelly for helping me out in Warrior vs Warrior, it is easy since im a warrior too and i know how a warrior basic instinct and how it acts. I admit i got a little bit better when it comes to melee to melee combat, however i got one more problem.
How do you deal with a Guardian using traps and longbow when all he did is attack me in range and go around his trap, i cant even land a hit on them. Same also with druids that all he did is attack me from range with his pet harassing me and when i rush to him he will just run out of range.
Btw, im full zerk, with GS, Axe/Shield.
Thank you in advance for helping me.
Guardian
- Depends on the Guardian. Sounds like your were fighting a dragon hunter, but there are two types of Dragon hunters.
- Skirmisher DH: These guys use traps more skillfully and are probably the hardest thing for you to fight. They use Trappers runes often and are constantly moving and setting up a very unfriendly battle field. Keep an eye on them as they move and you will be able to see where they dropped their traps. You can cancel two of their traps with dodges, but because they choose not to drop their traps on top of one another, they will have more options. This is the type of DH i play, and honestly, i tend to beat out most warriors i face with it.
- Turtle DH: These are the guys that stand in their traps and just turtle there while pulling you into the traps. while very powerful these guys tend to lay their traps on top of one another. this means you can use a single dodge through them to cancel all their traps at once. Then just like i showed you, you can short cast into a burst skill. They will lay their traps again, which is when you simply dodge again, swap weapons and burst again. This effectively takes out their biggest combo. they will likelly cycle through their sheild>Meditation>Sheild to buy time for their traps to come back up, no problem, by this time you’ll have another dodge ready to avoid teir next trap burst. after that they are screwed. they will have 4 heals during the engagement, (Two from virtues, two from heal)
- Dragon hunter in general: They have lots of sustain is used correctly, but they are shut down by Condi’s. In the direct damage department, you just really need 4 good hits on them and they will Die. 4, 5k+ hits will kill them. If you need toclose the distance, use a movement skill. Remember that they can drop you to 50% health, but if they do your Defy pain will kick in. don’t get scared just because they have a big initial burst. just concentrate on hitting them 4 or 5 times before they can pop a block or invulnerability. They are also short on stun breakers. almost forgot that.

Beginner dragonhunters tend to burst the hell out of you when you are in their traps. Instead of dodge I pop a defense (stances for warrior, block for guardian, mist form for ele…etc) and they pour all their burst. Then it is your turn.
This is only for the newbie ones.
Thanks thanks, im going to bear it in mind. thanks a lot.
dh problems?
-Melee it
-if it lays traps just shoot it and avoid procing them
-use condi
-use signet of might if not running condi.
In other words burst it to death. They block and they heal….get rid of both of those things and they die.
