Just wondering, have you fought one of those condition/shout S/S+LB warriors yet? I ran into a warrior the other day with your build and it was a pretty epic fight. I think I was spamming my stability the entire time.

You don’t need any stability against a shout S/S+LB warrior, unless he’s running “fear me” which traited is on a 48 second cooldown. You need to equip Stamina signet and zerker stance in order to beat those.

This build has bought more nerfs to warriors as a whole than all other builds combined. The overwhelming amount of nerfs to the profession that were directly instigated because of this build, and have now diminished all other hybrid/fringe/alt builds makes this a build toxic to warrior’s future. If you can’t win matches and duels with great sword, you ain’t a warrior..just a player riding off a 1-2-3 build.

I am neither hating the player or the game. I am hating the build. Hence why I didn’t say, "players like this are toxic’..or “game design choices have been toxic..” But I did say, “This build is toxic to warriors future.” And to back that statement up, all nerfs to warrior have been based around this build..which is what I started the entire comment with. I think your just seeing hate where you wanna see it. The ultimate truth is that warrior has a whole has been nerfed because of this build and how 1-2-3-OP it became, and can still be VS certain professions.
Yes. I am not on US time, so I can be tricky to get..but I do welcome sharing builds. My current set up for some time on warrior has been axe/shield-sword/mace..full melee, no range..but I will swap out for greatsword-sword/shield.
Good example of player who understands warrior mechanics. Showcases hammer by comparison is relatively weak and relies heavily on 1-2-3 knockback, knockdown, stun rinse-repeat, rinse-repeat, rinse-repeat

It does not. Even in a small party, you still need mobility, of which Hambow has very little.
I laugh when I see a hambow user in WvW. They phail to realise that the success of hambow in PvP is the direct effect of the nature of PvP, being you have to stand on a point.
I would change Longbow to another weapon, because in roaming, other classes can provide better aoe. And hammer is just awesome.

When I last played this build was just becoming popular, I find it indescribably funny that someone mentioned greatsword like gs is underused, from day 1 greatsword was the preferred weapon for warrior.
The number of builds built around spamming hundred blades in different ways is just disgusting. It says something that Hammer/Bow is the only combination using hammer that has ever had success on the Warrior… I’m willing to admit Hammer/Bow may have been overpowered when I used to use it, but Hammer desperately needs to be made usable in other builds

In pvp I played a war as condition dps, condition bunker and axe dps, ad a guardian bunker… and they’re much more “braindead” than hammer.
Also, hammer isn’t that great for 1vs1. At least, both as condition and axe dps warrior i’ve had very little problems vs hambows.
Anyway, I think soldier is better than berserker in a tpvp. I also think that leg specialist is almost a must.

war condi is not much harder to play. And axe dps… it depends on who you are facing.
Actually, hammer before buffs was considered hardmode. The difference is that now is incredibly more effective, even if you land half your hits, because warriors came from one of the squishiest classes to juggernauts, thanks to better healing and condi cleanse. What matters it the effectiveness/difficulty ratio.XD

It’s simply that I played lots of different warrior builds in pvp, and I think that hambow is the hardest to play (maybe on par with axe dps). The effectiveness/diffulty ratio is pretty much the same for all usable warrior builds in pvp.

If I go GS warrior, and then switch to hambow for a match, It’s like a different world. There is nothing you can’t kill and very few thing can kill you. And they need a lot of effort to do that.
Heck, I even played a game where I had so much lag I saw people running around with no particular effect and then suddenly dropping dead, and something like 1 second delay between command and action, and I still was able to hold mid.

That’s the problem: seems like all the warrior builds that take effort are in fact worthless. Not saying you are wrong here, I tried to make GS work, but I’m not sure I managed it. I wouldn’t think so considering how easy things become the rare times I try hambow.

A mace/mace | rifle is a build that takes effort to play, because it’s worthless.
The same is for the gs: it is good in pve, nice in wvw roaming but useless in pvp.
I love the gs too (since i have a volcanus and I love its effect) but it simply isn’t made for pvp.
The warrior is an easy character to play, and trying to find a difficult but rewarding build for it is not that simple (at least for pvp, where you runes/sigil/equipment’s choices are limited).
I tried this build and it’s good. I played stun lock before Hammer/Mace and Shield. I have 5 champion classes and I think its a good build people hating it are just noobs sorry but that is the truth.

Yeah, the problem is that you’ll get bored quick. It’s like the game is playing itself. That’s what I’m complaining about, as a warrior who wants to enjoy his class and weapons and actually get better at them. IMHO Hammer should have more depth.
