Guild Wars 2

My warrior is more than a year old, and I still haven’t settled on an alternate weapon. I’d like to run the longbow for the few instances when melee isn’t a good idea and because the area of effect nature of the weapon makes it ideal for farming dynamic events with waves/clusters of mobs. I’d also like to run the warhorn since swiftness makes getting from Point A to Point B a much more efficient process. I don’t want to carry both, and I’m only going to trade my greatsword out for a two-handed axe.

So, any recommendations? Is there some way I can get the best of both worlds?

Are you playing pve, wvw or spvp? I don’t play greatsword at all. You should reconsider switching greatsword to another weapon set if you want mobility

My current weapons sets:

pve – axe/shield (warhorn – for material gathering), hammer
wvw – hammer, sword/warhorn – common wvw weapon sets (while defending towers I switch to longbow)
for spvp – condi builds – swords, longbow, power builds – hammer, axe, mace etc

With proper gear and build you can always fight meele and survive. And you will be doing same dmg as greatsword warrior

You are mistaken. For me, Warrior’s Sprint was a big change, as it allowed me to swap a Warhorn for a Shield. Or a Mace.
