can’t play anything else after i tried warrior.

I have the same problem with elementalist.

Warrior is OK but too simple.

I prefer more complicated professions, Engineer, Mesmer, Guardian.

Warrior was my first character, and was the only 80 I had for a while. Then I got an Ele and realized how much easier it is to get loot bags in WvW. Yeah gonna stick with Ele.

I started with a Warrior. Got to 80, moved to playing an Elementalist, gave up on it, went back to warrior. Played a ranger for a bit, gave up on it went back to warrior. Played an Engineer, gave up on it went back to Warrior. Left the game for 4 months. Started a guardian, got to 80, gave up the Warrior addiction. Played through the scarlet invasions. Put a commander tag on the guardian.

Putting the commander tag on the guardian was a mistake, cause then I went back to Elementalist to give it a try after the initial scarlet invasions (the ones that ran every hour). I now have a hard time leaving the elementalist. Really the only time I play the guardian now is when I need to use my commander’s tag for Guild Missions. Well I picked up the legend last night from the mystic forge, had 450 gold left over, and now my ele has a tag. I doubt I’ll ever use the guardian and warrior again in a big way.

I only use my engi now because he’s at 72% world completion, all that’s remaining is PvE, already done WvW, my guardian, warrior, and ranger all have world completion. And I only use them for crafting ascended items now.

It all depends on your play style and what you like to do. I loved playing the warrior tank who was his own AOE. Now I prefer playing the mobile ranged fighter, that can easily switch between roles. As people’s play styles change they’ll pick a new favourite class.

Warrior gets boring.

Thief keeps me interested.

The warrior does have a sense of raw power that no other class has. Low CDs, high mobility, high damage, and fast attacks all add to this.

Ele for me – tried other professions but I always come back to my main, seems way more fun, but each to their own of course!

I do like my ele as well. Just not staff, it just seems everything apart from fire and water on there is useless, which kind of ruins the point of being an elementalist.

I do have a fascination with greatswords though (don’t judge :V)., and eles can’t fill that fascination.

Air is great for stacking swiftness and the push back and the bouncing projectile.

Earth has a blast (WHOA BLAST ON STAFF?!) and a knock back and a decent bleed.

But daggers and scepter are surely more fun.

Earth Staff also has bleed on 2 and 5. And reflect on 3. Nothing I like more than to go up to some boss reflect and turn my reflect on as well. ‘How do you like reflect you kitten’. Not so fun when the shoe is on the other foot, now is it.

Though with the number of enemies showing up with reflect it does make wielding a staff a pain. The main attack on all four elements gets reflected, everything that doesn’t get reflected has a long cool down, longer than the reflect usually lasts, so with a staff you can nova on a reflect mob and have to detarget so you don’t kill yourself waiting for the cool downs.

I also played Warrior for a long time. Level 80, full set of ascended, and halfway to legendary. I recently fired up my necro again. It’s freaking AWESOME!! I’m at level 63 with it, and it is a bit disheartening not having full traits, and decent gear to play around with, but I am loving it. While I still use my warrior for dungeon runs and the like, when my Necro is leveled up I know I’m going to be using him alot more. Especcially for WvW. Which I found the warrior lacking quite a bit, IMO.

I’ve tried all the classes, and mesmer is my favourite, despite the fact that I find literally every single other class easier to play… yeah, pretty dumb, I know.

At least OP is addicted to a decent class. My mesmer/engineer/ranger fixation is rather counter productive in today’s dungeon meta (And stigmas people attach)

Mesmer, Necro, and Thief are 3 I haven’t really been able to get click yet. My mesmer is 80 though crafting mostly. My Necro is 22, and my Thief 33 or so. The only reason my thief is that high is because its the only Sylvari toon I have and I wanted the achievement for the personal story. Once I finish bifrost (6 more arah runs) I may blow the dust off my necro and give it another try.

Again its your play style and what you like. Warriors seem to be a good starting class, but some people leave it behind for other classes with more complex mechanics. Still I think I might go back and play with it later. I have plans on making three sets of ascended armour, light, medium and heavy zerks, and now that you can share them between toons I don’t see a reason why not to give it a try.

To keep things fresh, I play different a couple of different characters in different places. Ele in COE/AC, Thief in CM and COF, Warrior everywhere else.

I don’t know, there is something in warrior that I like a lot. And no, it’s not because warrior is on its peak at the moment, I have played it since the launch and have way too many hours on it. Something like 90% of my play time is on it.

I like the flow of the combat on it. It’s rather fast paced and Hammer / GS setup offers some really nice stuff when doing WvW roaming. I like to test around stuff on Warrior and even though I swap my weapons quite a lot I always come back to my trusty Ham GS combo, it’s just so… pure love.

I think my staff ele comes as the second favorite at the moment, although recently made it gives a whole other spectrum to the fights in WvW than my warrior does. It’s a fun side to it as well and maybe a bit more interesting in bigger fights than Warrior is, but when it comes to small scale warrior > anything else I tried.

Warrior is much like warrior in gw1..very under credited. You can drop banners and just throw your great sword round and call it a day. Or you can look at who is using leap finishers, who doesn’t have swiftness, who can’t stack might etc and alter your build on the fly to still produce respectable damage, but also min/max others weaknesses and strengths. The amount of times I have seen pure DPS guardians that all they can do is subpar warrior damage and offer nothing to those around them is insane. Pound for pound a phalanx strength build warrior thee days offer more overall benefits to teams than what a meditation guardian ever could. It is just the fact that people wanna see guardian as being a team player that they believe the guardian has more to offer groups. If you want to play warrior in a 1-2-3 fashion, then that is all you will get from them. if you want to apply higher thinking then you can achieve much more with them than what most people would suspect.
In any fractal team my current build offers;
Able to boost everyone’s crit chance and damage or vitality/toughness.
apply group swiftness.
Produce fire fields for leap finishers or might fields for blast finishers.
produce massive regen fields in a moments notice.
Hold entire teams might stacks at 25.
Quickly produce high stacks of vulnerability.
Hold boss enmity.
Remove team conditions every 29 seconds
Resurrect multiple downed players if they are close enough.
Stun larger groups.
Immobilise stack kiting targets.
produce high cleave damage.

wu-tang warrior ain’t nothing to —-- with.
There is a strong reason why some players ask specifically for heavies only. Pretty much all speed run groups will ask for one warrior to play the above mentioned build. It just makes life a lot easier.

Hi! Ele here. That build sounds like a lot of fun. I’m not in the know of how-to-warrior, but I’d love to make one and try the build out you’re talking about. Could you please make it and give a link? I know it’s asking a lot, but I’d love to experiment with a different class.

By the sound of it its most likely this build. Its the warrior Pug carrier build. Except it uses a longbow so its most likely this trait setup. For faster swapping to stack might.

Change the banner utility to strength if another warrior is in the party. You can switch the grandmaster Tactics trait to banner regen or shout healing on the fly if that’s needed.

If you need that condi clear utility is called shake it off.
