warrior is better without bezerker?
I tried the elite spec for the first time tonight. I love the style and theme of the berserker but I’m just not impressed by how it does in combat.
As a tanky (PVT) PvE warrior I thought the bottom trait line, that was said to focus on the “unstoppable” aspect of berserker, would work for my playstyle but I find that I’m far better off with my old build if I want to play tanky. Wild Blow is good for depleting break bars extra fast but not worth taking over the other lines.
In the end berserker felt very one-dimensional and I took it off. I’m not interested in condi playstyle and it doesn’t seem to be good at anything else. It seems that none of the new skills or the new primal bursts do anything for your sustain, helps you support better, or makes you deal more damage. I remember the devs saying they designed the trait line to have something for all play styles but it doesn’t seem to be good enough at any of those purposes except condi.
I’ll let those with more experience than me propose how to buff things but as far as my playstyle goes the bottom trait line (the tanky ones) need to be a lot better.

Amen to that, but they’re really busy fixing bugs at the moment so lets give them some breathing room, hopefully, they’ll fix it in due time..
Actually, although other warrior builds are much worse off, condition builds still find themselves giving up 1 tree for it, either Arms, Defense or Discipline. Losing Arms hurts damage, losing Defense hurts survivability and losing Discipline hurts mobility and adrenaline efficiency.. =/ I think this is a general problem for all builds.
Also the Primal Burst skills and SHORT buff after entering Berserk mode don’t justify taking it.. the Primal Burst are mostly either inferior or not much of an upgrade to regular burst and the SHORT buffs you get don’ t make you all that stronger either. All while taking the time to charge 3 bars of Adrenaline to enter Berserk mode and turning kitten again because of the 15 second cooldown afterwards.. ~_~
I have not played it yet, but I like the line in theory. For my hammer build, at least. Looking forward to trying it out in WvW.
Elite specializations aren’t supposed to be better or worse than the core – just different.
The idea is not to have the Elite spec be OP and invalidate the core profession – that said the Berserker elite spec is just bad because there’s really no reason to take it over the core specs.
It’s different – but not in a good way – its differences don’t give enough of a reason to switch from core.

Like you said, elite spec are supposed to be diffferent. Rage skills and the physical skills are so incredibly similar that its not funny. Every other professional got something different than what they were used to. Initially before they revealed Berserker I thought they’d give warriors some ranged utility skills but no. Even the rage skills are so lackluster that no one will ever take them over the core utility skills.
The healing skill is perhaps the only that could replace healing signet in power builds but I doubt even that. The primal burst skills are a BIG JOKE.
