I have been testing new build lately and I am just wondering what you guys think about a better roaming build.

I have 2 variations of the same. Which I use depends on what I expect to find, party composition (if any) and personal mood:

0/20/20/0/30 in both cases.

Furious Speed and Unsuspecting Foe in the Arms tree.

Cleansing Ire and Shield Mastery in the Defense tree.

Signet Mastery, Mobile Strikes and Burst Mastery in Discipline.

The difference is whether I take Mace/Shield and Greatsword or Hammer and Sword/Shield. The former is better for small scale fights and 1 on 1s, while the later is better for larger scale fights and zergs.

Another good option is 0/20/20/10/20 with Hammer and Greatsword (or Sword/Shield). Pretty much the same but you sacrifice Burst Mastery for Leg Specialist. Obviously don’t take Shield Master if you’re not running with Shield. Take Dogged March or something instead.

Stats is usually a mix of berserker and either knights or Soldiers. In the Knight’s set I have around 3 or 3.1k armor, then everything else is damage with ruby orbs and everything, and my Soldier set has Melandru runes. Again, depends on how I feel about it and what I expect to be against.

Yesterday, a fellow guild mate told us about his duels with a warrior who’d have both good condition damage and direct damage, using a greatsword, a sword and a shield. The idea was interesting, so I gave it a try (using my real stuff, hence some strange bits here and there):

I was very pleased with the results, being quite successful in my own duels, and definitely intend to play it more. Basically, it’s a mix of direct and condition damage, using soldier, dire/rabid and carrion items, with a greatsword and two swords.

The parts I liked about it are:

• the stats are balanced: 3.3k armor, 2.9k attack (and growing thanks to bloodlust) and 1.2k condition damage, depending on which weapons are equipped. Low critical chance/damage, but they are not necessary in this build,
• the weapons, along with Bull’s Charge, provide dynamic fights and great mobility,
• you can cripple a lot, which makes “Leg Specialist” really shine, giving you some interesting openings to use “Hundred Blades”,
• the build can be quickly adapted when joining a party, by changing the second sword for a warhorn, substituting “Shrug It Off” by “Quick Breathing”, and equipping “Battle Standard” in place of the “Signet of Rage”.

shout builds still viable?

I’ve been running a GS Knights build for some time now and looking for a change – above seems something similar…

If you want to try mace gs, try 0/30/20/0/20. Burst mastery is not nessecary, you can gain adrenaline fast enough. The grandmaster minor gives you 10% damage boost. Take III with it to prolong your crit bleeds to almost guarantee the 10%. Also, with 30 in Arms, you can take unsuspecting foe and forceful gs, or try out the new last chance. I have, and it’s fun. Not many people expect you to suddenly gain quickness anymore.

Basically, always take 20 in defense.

0/20/30/0/20 GS/Hammer Celestial/zerker mix w/ hoelbrak is what I currently run, no zerker stance.

I am currently recording my shout heal/condi build with lb and sw/wh hopefully will be done by next week.

My ultimate tanky dps build. Strong enough for roaming solo, and good group synergy through healing shouts / on demand condition cleanses. Also when empower allies activates in combat my autoattacks are usually critting for 2k. I sometimes use sword / shield + axe / mace if I don’t want to using the ol’ mace/shield + gs combo.

Edit: I also have a warhorn that has the sigil of bloodlust on it that I can stack up to ramp my damage up as well before I start roaming.

Enjoy gaining mad might and torching for 600+ while blocking attacks, frenzying with Flurry and finishing em off with HB before they can hit their heals. Most people dont expect burning block, and they expect lots of quickness even less.

Insane survivability and mobility, coupled with very respectable DPS.
Between Cleansing Ire and Sharpened Axes, you’ll build Adrenaline like nobody’s business, so in addition to having 4k armor and -65% condition reduction, you’ll also cleanse 3 conditions every 8 seconds.

With -98% condition reduction on movement impairing abilities, and 125% speed (even if you get boon stripped), you’re a king of mobility, so nobody should ever catch you if you wish to escape. When roaming, mobility is king.

Sorry, maybe that was a bit misleading. I meant 30% additional crit damage. Baseline is 50% of course, so your crits do a total of 80% additional damage.

It’s not the same damage you’ll get will full zerker, obv., but I think you’ll find the damage to be very, very solid for a Warrior of this durability.

That much power, with 96% crit chance is nothing to sneer at on a man with -65% condition reduction and 4k in armor.

You basically should never die to less than 3 people. And if you see a wave of people coming at you, you should be able to escape without too much trouble.
