I’d just like to say what I REALLY want is the following:

-no more automated tournaments (none. I don’t know anyone who is happy with these)

-An official, in-game tournament team roster (Its incredibly difficult to get a vast majority of players into a competitive team without one)

-A ladder w/ a rating system & matchmaking system. (shorter queues bc you don’t need 40 people for a queue to pop, only 10. Better games bc of MMS. A sense of accomplishment as rating improves, instead of the mind-numbing grind of QPs)

Postnote: how did a tournament system heavily based on grinding get into a game where one of the biggest features is no grinding!? Even hot-join is a grind for rank (although a more satisfying one).
PvE has no-grinding as one of its best features. Extend that kindness at least a little bit to PvP please, and remove the QP grind (than replace it with a ladder… dreaming)

i do agree censor that free is to easy my team actually q with 5 and made 1 of our players sit out all tournament just so we can win 4v5 and we won the whole thing. if advanced isint put in by monday we might try the blind fold thinggy lol.

lets tell all our friends to vote yes on advanced so we have competitive games all day.

and baam i understand that waiting for 8 ppl is discourageing but i read somwhere that they are trying to stick with this 8 man tournaments though. maybe one day it will be solo team ques with a ladder but i doubt it. we what we need to do is find a way for more teams to be made like letting new ppl stay in free and teams start building skill and synergy in advanced without the losing penalty and discouragement that comes with paids. and this will make q’s shorter.

i dont fell that pvp glory is a grind it is just something to work for but nothing you need to change the outcome of the game.

As a fairly new player to spvp, I would love to see an in-between option for free tourny and paid tourny. Its incredibly obvious who is farming tickets and who is actually playing the free tourny because it is an (supposed to be?) appropriate level of competition after the messy quick join option.

So, for what its worth, I second OP’s suggestion.

oh hey look it’s SAtaarcoeny the guy who talks kitten to pugs while playing as a premade in free tournies, saying he’s only “recruiting” well looks like you are getting rofl stomped in paids and now crying about it, gg. You shouldn’t talk as much as you do when your only claim to glory is winning free tournies vs pugs.

Im sorry Sprawl.3891 you seem very confused. I never talk smack to pugs in free, actually quite opposite. i tell pugs in free to come on this forum and post they want advanced. i tell pugs i am sorry that we have to play against them and its not fair because the difference in experience.

and we won our last 8 of 13 paids so i am not mad about the competition in paids just the lack of competition when paids are not popping.

you might have me confused with the ppl that do not want the advanced playlist because they enjoy pug stomping.

(if you can edit your post sprawl to say either yes you do want advanced or no you want to stay in frees with great premades. cause from what it sounds like is you pug alot so this might be something you will benefit from until you can get a team)

I really want advanced to come out Monday so i can get more tickets to play more paids.

ok so i promoted this all weekend and many ppl said they really wanted it. if you read through this whole post you will see why.

a few said they would rather have ladders for a playlist noone plays.

right now i see over 1,500 ppl at any given time doing nothing that’s 300 potential teams. lets give them frees to make teams then give them advanced to get good then imagine how many ppl will be in paids.

in short because i wont be posting on this forum anymore.

1. hot joins: are for brand new ppl and ppl trying new builds.

2 frees: are for 2-3 friends at most qing up together, or brand new ppl wanting a feel for struture. (brand new teams of 5)

3. ADVANCED: a place for teams of 5 to put themselves to the test of now knowing structure to add synergy strats build there builds for the synergy and strats. and to practice against other good teams so they can learn how to audible when need be. once they learn all this and have tickets then and only then should they go to

4. paids: a place for the best of the best to compete to increase kitten’s

(then and only then should a ladder come out for advanced and for paid.)

It’s also important to consider the sum total of the all the time sinks required to even get into the competitive scene, let alone maintain it.

Without providing ancillary support to the player base we have now and lowering the overall barrier to entry into the competitive tPvP scene, this suggestion, while I agree to an extent, is only a drop in the bucket.

I think a ladder for paids would be a good idea, maybe alsofor the advanced playlist if it gets put in, but not just for frees and normal structured. However first things first; they NEED to put in a middle bracket to further extend the community, because the more people just get smacked by full teams, the faster they are going to leave and the more MONEY Anet is going to lose; hear that Anet, LOSS OF MONEY!! This should ring bells for you, try doing something on this matter and fast.

I really hope this gets implemented and that it brings a larger community to the PvP side of this game.
