So.. just to add some background, and perspective, I am almost a R71 NA player in sPvP. I am not the hardest-core of hardcore rank farmers, but I have the 200th most Solo Queue wins, and the 20th most Team Queue wins. Marvin sails over me in Team Queue wins by 2.2 times over.
Anyways.. After the December 10th patch came, and added lots of increased Rank Pts for PvPers, I decided it’d be a sweet time to pick up the pace. I was like, rank 68 at the time, or so.
Fast track to now, I am now nearly rank 71, and I’ve accumulated AT LEAST the equilivant of two levels at Rank 70 since December 10th.
That’s in the ballpark of 900,000 glory.
By my calculations, it’s going to be 1,091,500 glory to go from Rank1 to Rank80. Sweet. Wait, I just accomplished 82.5% of the ENTIRE Future PvP Ranking system since the Dec. 10th patch?!
Seriously, … 2 levels of my R70 bracket which I’ve managed to accomplish RECENTLY is the equilivant of 82.5% of the entire dang game.
Look, I understand these numbers if we weren’t getting 1500 freaking Rank pts. per Team Queue win.
Post Rank 80, having 20k rank points per level is fine. You’re just getting a some champion bags, scrolls, and a tome. That’s cool, bro.
But only 1,091,500 glory from a virgin account to a dragon? That’s less than 2 and half levels, for what difficulty I’m used to.
At least throw PvPers some retroactive some champ bags. Personally, I’ve already earned 4,221,500 glory since launch and would have leveled around 3.86 accounts to Dragon already.
Maybe remove the cap on ranks? Personally, I feel like my Rank 237 equilivant account (come April 15th) could use some sort of recognition?

But your conerns have already been addressed, for one the rank point titles have not been changed, so there is always something to progress towards to that the other players cannot get on day 1 of the patch.
Also, you still rank up at 80 you will get champ bags and skill points every time you rank up at 80.
And when they downscale the rankpoints, you will be awarded a chest for every level you would have gotten, so say if you managed to be rank 400 after patch, you’d get 400 chests

I’d still like to see it take a bit longer to reach 80, imo, the current requirements to 70 being the new 80 would suffice.

This blows my mind…it sounded like the people that had more rank points than 81 would continue to tick over accumulating chests. This is a total screwover to everyone 65+.
Edit: People that had many more rank points than they needed to get to 80 getting many reward chests was the only reason I felt okay being happy about this update to ranks. I mean they deserve ALOT more rewards than someone like me who is only rank42.

No. I interpreted the readyup correctly, as confirmed by the Lesh Prince just now. You start getting champion bags per level up once you hit 81. So no real retroactives. Or, I’d get 10 champ bags if they do do count when I ‘level’ up from 70 to 80.
But I do think that the titles are great. And I thank god that there will be a shred of evidence that I played a decent amount of PvP.

This, I feel the same way and am also unaffected(rank 42). I think the restructuring of the ranks is a VERY good idea, but those who have put a huge amount of time into the game should get something extra, even if they got 1,000 champ bags from it compared to what frostgorge farmers have gotten over the last few months it is nothing.

I disagree with giving them the chests. (Disclaimer: Rank 42). It could have some nasty market repercussions. If you want to give them tomes, that’d be fine. However, that loot could be messy.
However, I really think they should award gifts of exploration (and possibly a full legendary) to some of these guys. Give rank 80+ their pick of a legendary and a gift of exploration. Give the guys that are rank 70+ two gifts of exploration. Give the ones that are 60+ a gift of exploration. Now they don’t have to do the most mind numbing pve on the planet to get their legendary. Honestly, they deserve it. They deserve to get out of doing that horrendous task. They did a grind. It’s a balance that won’t crash markets but will let them progress a legendary without forcing a horrid amount of pve down people that clearly enjoy pvp.

This just keeps getting better. LOL. I am going to reserve judgement until it’s revealed how hard the titles are to get. But… let me tell you, IF everyone gets the Legendary Champion achievement after they go from Rank1 to Rank80 in 3-4 months, I am going to be kittenED..

What a joke, man. Leave the titles alone! Afford the people that earned this ridiculous feat at least a little title under their nameplate.
The PvP community would like a FIX the Titles so people’s accumulated rank points match the actual achievements (thrown off by PvP chest rank rewards).
For example, I have 4,221,500 rank points, but yet I’m not even a Reaper yet, which is earned at 2,973,500 rank points.
If you misspoke on the Readyup, or earlier on this Thread (not sure) could you please Clarify what the Achievements will be balanced around?

And how is future effort in a future rewards system relevant to a retiring rewards system? It takes less effort to obtain WXP rank since they increased the WXP gain too.
None of this stuff is geared toward the vets. Wanna know why? Because a lot of the vets on here for months kept saying things like, “We don’t care about armor or weapons. We want leagues and ladders and a leaderboard that works.”
I understand wanting all those things. I want them too and I am a lowly r49. The problem isn’t that. It’s with all of the so called “hardcore PvP’ers” that went on for months about how they don’t care about the rewards.
This stuff is for people that don’t play PvP. It’s too get them to start playing. This will do exactly that. We have all been saying how dead tPvP and sPvP have been. It’s all true, but you have to get new people playing. There are people that could care less about PvP that will start playing it if every month there is a new shiny object for them to collect that they can use in PvE. You don’t even have to balance anything. They will show up for their monthly weapon/armor/backpiece skin like clockwork the second the monthly resets or a new 2 week update is implemented and PvPers will go to work farming them for rank points.
PvPers like shinies just as much as PvE’ers do, they are just different shinies. Instead of armor or weapon skins, PvPers want Emotes, titles, and leaderboard recognition.
I just want a meta that shifts every month or two and a queue of less than 2 minutes. Watching my purple bar progress arbitrarily is just icing on the cake.
I like the new reward system. I like that there will be new people. I made a comment to Chappy today on the stream that I wanted changes to things every month or so just so PvP isn’t as stale and he said that was an understandable thing to desire. Will I get it? IDK, man. I sure hope so though.

to copy and paste from my earlier post, this is kind of why socialism doesn’t work, what’s the point when everyone is just handed a dragon rank. it’s nothing prestigious anymore and there’s nothing left to work for.
all this does is make the pvp in this game more shallow.
guys stop asking for more for hem they already in the right track with changes at least let us try it first before we demnd more or criticize them.

The no-chest bug? That was quite prolonged. And sloppy. I’d say you have a better chance of being an ice cube in hell than getting anything out of that can of worms.
All of my concerns in this thread might be.. less so, shall we say, if the Ladder rewards are actually prestigious like they’re #hyped to be. Time will tell.

If they’re not ready to competitively support the TDM game mode, at least we have the map when it’s ready.

I think you also get skill points from the reward tracks. You probably only need to rank up about 2 times for 25 skill points if you’re also going up reward tracks.
