I remember back in time when paid tournaments were still here that you won gems on second map +.
I want skins, more character slots and other features that are bought with gems.
Now is not more possible make gems with pvp and that is sad to me considered I do only pvp.

Please give us back gems in pvp.

Eh?? Since when this happened. I used to play those matches too but only to advance to the final round and get chest.No gem,token or whatsoever.

Happened a long time ago when they’ve removed the free tournaments. It would be nice if there was a way to get some gems in PvP, but I don’t find it game breaking if there is not. None of the features of gems are really changing the experience of a PvP match so I find the topic name out of place. And if you want these things that badly, just spend some real money for them or do some PvE…

Or We could have a feature that exchange Glory for Gem.So PvP player can still focus on PvP without spending much real money.

Gems were giving only on paid tournaments. They made some kind of same because they required a fee enter and you were playing for that.

Other stuff doesn’t and shouldn’t give gems, so that’s why it is.

Right now, no more fee tournament entering, so Gem is not necessary. If you ate talking about gem on TP, then it would be awesome if we can exchange glory for Gem.

PvP doesnt have any standard right now, how would you reward gems? as a reward for winning a match? thats like giving everything free…

this is the same problem as with the glory → items for WvW… golds have a value, glory is just a valueless kitten which everyone have tons of, earning isnt tied to skill and its just useless… dont try to make useless and valueless thing into something almost worth real money…

they need to revamp whole reward/rank/glory system, then they can think about adding some way to earn gems for good players who deserve them… maybe weekly gem bonus for TOP1000? but only if they fix that “i dont play for few months and im still in ladder”

Even if its a ludicrously small ammount for time invested you should be able to get gems or gold to buy gems from pvp. I don’t understand what A-net does no understand about parallel progression. Spvp gets rotten rewards compared to the other facets of the game. I still think you should be able to level through spvp as well. How hard would it be to give an exp value to player kills and match wins. These things would increase the ammount of spvp players as well.

A taste tends to make people realize they are hungry more than just a glance.

I don’t think they will add a real-money currency to be obtained by normal game. Some rare chest drops what we can sell to the pve guys and buy their gems would work out better.

Not really. Most people that do not buy gems will not be coerced by A-net into buying them with real world $$$. They just are kitten those people off because its not fair that you can mindlessly farm gold in pve and use them to buy gems but can’t earn them with time spent doing spvp activities.

…two teams sit on a vast ammount of gems whereas the rest WILL HAVE TO go farm pve. Brilliant idea sir. In the past few days I had to go farm pve i loathe so much to get 25g for the 9th character slot. It gets really tiresome so its last time i did that (and i wont buy gems next time either). Nobody will spend 10e per one character slot when regular pve players can have it basically for free.

it IS brilliant. we need to incentivize not being bad. but yh glory should be able to provide just enough gems to unlock a couple slots by the time you are ~r20

I’m sorry, but it’s an EXTREMELY kitten train of thought.

Few people take GW2 PvP seriously.
That isn’t an issues based on in game money.
Few people that play GW2 PvP well care about gems.
That isn’t an issues based on accessibility.

PvP’ers don’t flaming ‘want to be bad’ at PvP unless someone throws a PvE currency at them.

doesn’t matter whether they want it. we give it to them. others will want it then. it is essential to make top pvp players filthy rich in a game that wants to encourage competition.

Some more options for things to spend glory on would be great, though gems/gold for glory would be a risky prospect for aNet. It would be too easy to exploit a system like this unless safeguards were put in.
