1- Glory points to rank points- By now everyone has way too many glory points, and not enough stuff to spend it on, why not make it to where you can trade glory points to rank points. The need for glory points is almost meaningless because we already know what gear we are going to get with the rank required. So personally I think its pretty logical to speed up the process

2- From the new chests that we are getting we are getting all kinds of stuff that we may not use, my idea for this is to give the player a choice of either the pve stuff, or the choice to choose between a raw amount of glory points, or rank points. That way regardless of your play your getting something that YOU need, because you made the choice to begin with.

I would really like to see some use for our glory. It has been nothing but a number for far too long.

I doubt that they would let us convert Glory straight into Rank Points. It’s meant to be something to work for for a long time.

A better usage would be streamlining the rather ridiculous PvP skin system with direct glory to PvP Materials, or even better, removing the Mystic Forge system all together. I remember back in Beta when you could just flat-out buy the Skins, but it was removed in favor of chests because “everyone likes opening chests”. No. They don’t. I have 112 golden bear chests sitting on my Necro because I have 250 of every PvP Crafting Mat and a copy of every PvP skin at my rank. I know that I’m the minority in this (Only a handful of people have reached r50+, let alone r60+) but when I ding r60 towards the end of this year, I get to repeat the same tedious grind of opening chests, hoping I get more skins, and destroying the skins one at a time with the Salvage Kit reminder. /rant

And I’m sure it’s been suggested and read and rejected in favor of making more money, but Custom Arenas as a reward for PvPing would be cool too.

Your first idea would give an advantage to Hotjoin-players even more. I think rewarding skilless play even further won’t create any healthy competition in this game.

Second idea, why not. But would end in just picking rank-points from the chest, as glory is useless and skins can be easily forged in the mystic toilet.

i do not agree with [convert glory points to rank points] however i do agree that we need more things to buy with our glory points.

i.e.

buy various dye packs with glory.

orange dye pack
red dye pack
green dye pack
etc

just posting it here again~ imo still the best solution to the reward system problem.

especially when you look at the cost of custom arenas and the amount of gold you can get out of pvp..

Even though i already spend all of my glory and would be pretty mad that i got the shaft on this whole deal id still want this to go through cause whatever glory i get now after they add something better to get with glory could atleast be useful

Heres an idea tho why not have a new currency that tallies up all the glory uve ever got and use that as a way to get new rewards
that way the people who already spent there glory dont get screwed for doing so when they add a better reward for it

although ppl would still be stuck with their massive amounts of glory that is useless….

Did you know tournament chests give away the stuff you can get in regular glory chests like rank 40 or rank 30. If you have everything in rank 20 and below and you have 200 chests don’t open them till rank 30 because you have chance to gain rank 30 items.

Only thing wise enough to spend glory on is bags, everything else you can make if you really want it from powders and kitten you salvage from tournament chests.

Let’s say for example, hotjoin 1 hour: 1.5k glory
Tournament 1 hour: 0-600 glory, and because we lack unrated, some people just don’t play pvp when their team is offline = less time, less glory, less effecctive format, and still a better player than a hotjoin grinder

Multiplied:
Hotjoin 1 hour = 3k glory
Tournament 1 hour = 1200 glory

Also, gloryboosters would be the way to buy progress.

Anything to spend Glory on would be nice. Mini Pets, Boosters, Skins, Etc….

How about Tome of Knowledge? Gain 1 PvE Level Instantly. I have 9 Characters, only one is Level 80….I refuse to level another character in PvE. No way.

I don’t farm gold either. I play PvP. And not the mini-wvw hotjoin. And you are right about the ‘time is the currency thing’ :P But glory is useless, and nobody would buy an useless currency from gms. Once we can spend glory on something unique, we can talk abut that. But I don’t think this will ever happen. more likely the ‘I play pvp, buy the stuff and sell on TP for gold and exchange the gold for gems’ method, because you will have to play PvP for that PvP reward. Hotjoin is the cancer of PvP that hurts to play.

Sigh…I had this same idea like 2 months ago, everyone said it was terrible idea. Basically because it is. This system would be available to everyone of each rank, and most rank 50+ have millions of glory, millions. They would advance through ranks so fast.

Ranking up doesn’t need to be faster, or slower. What needs to happen is more rewards in between per 10 ranks. Whether that is weapon skins, armor skins, or back pieces, or dyes.

And should not have to do PvE to get skins in PvP.

PvP shouldn’t be entirely about skins. Because skins are now worthless there anyways.

What I said is they should make more rewards per 10 ranks. For e.g 10 – 20, 20 – 30, 30 – 40. I there was just more rewards the time required shouldn’t matter.

i spent my glory on Dyes cause at least can make some gold off that that i can downgrade to gems

Remove the “Are you sure you want to salvage/delete this?” prompt and I’ll be a happy camper. Also make the tourney reward chests have a higher rank point reward so I don’t feel like my time would be better spent zerging in 8v8s.

Oh yeah a lot of these skins do look bad. Anet please stop making bad looking skins, also I’m sick of new backpieces.

I really hate it when they release something but its all by itself, like dragon helment, fused gauntlets. I’m sure not looking forward to getting rank 50, dredge armor set looks hideous who’d wear that junk?
