Q:
GvG coming to Guild Wars 2?
They have said it will be implemented but I don’t know that is on their radar as soon to implement features.

Somewhere down the road we might look at the possibility of other game modes, but at the moment we believe basic PvP architecture and features (matchmaking, observer mode, custom arenas, rankings) are more important for Guild Wars 2 PvP.
This more or less is an official statement from ArenaNet regarding your question.
With that said – it is possible GvG may be introduced, but few thing must be remembered first.
Guild halls, would need to be created. They will quite possibly come to PvE some day. These maps and places could be utilised later in GvG development.
The development of core PvP features, as also stated by ArenaNet, will take months or close to a whole year. With that said, GvG, even if planned, is months away.
Possible Conquest’s success after mentioned features are in place diminishes probability of GvG coming to GW2. Anet stated numerous times that they would like to position themselves for a competitive PvP game. In this regard they will be very stubborn and careful with additional game modes.
I could analyse this for hours and summon walls of text, but quite frankly I don’t believe there is a point. I hope you can have the general idea about GW2 GvG.

Both the information provided through the link and the statement are incorrect. Anet has NEVER directly and officially stated that GvG will be developed. Never.
Have you even read the post? It starts with a direct dismissal of that information from Colin Johanson.

Ahh I did a little more research into the article and I misread it originally. I have seen people claim ANet said they would put it in so searched for a source when I found this forum and didn’t read it right but I am glad you pointed that out.
Conquest has all the mechanical elements of GvG except VoD/aggression. The only issue is the layout of the current maps is getting in the way. Temple of the Silent Storm is better.
You can’t roll out GvG in its GW1 form with the game mechanics of GW2. You simply can’t bash each other in the head 7v7 at a flag stand without monk support.
The game mechanic demands splitting and mobility so the Alliance Battles type set-up of sPvP sort of works.
But saying that, I’m sure it wouldn’t be too hard to make the sole objective of killing the guild lord a viable game style. I would have loved to see it where you could actually move the guild lord and his squad around the map instead of trying to just bust into a stronghold
I miss GvG big time and it could easily be done, it has to be done, or i’ll miss it forever.
Who freaking cares.
All a guild is , is a group of players.
Your already playing players.
IT MAKES 0 DIFFERENCE if its vs a guild or a team.
Its still 5 players vs 5 players.
this is the most completley irrelevant thing ever.
What the F difference does it make if everyone your facing is in the same guild or not.
0 DIFFERENCE. this is completely 100% all in your head.
