Of course, if I want to have much more slow-downed and a rope-pulling type progressive combat, I would pick GW2.

Ohhh snap. I didn’t ‘actually’ say that… but ok.

Personally my two fav. games are dota 2 and Bioshock… simply because those two games have just really unique styles in their gameplay.

But no, I think what games like Dota2 and LoL do well in is: setting up a solid meta-game. Of course, Dota 2 is slightly more free in terms of laning setups… but ultimately the way the map sets up is indicative of how these metas developed.

Mid Lane- Fastest Solo EXP, have most help to the other 2 lanes.
Dual Lane – Safest farm lane for squishy range DPS with the help of support & wards ^^
Solo Lane – Easiest lane to control lane push, allows 5th man to roam (they call it ‘jungling’, but it’s like roaming with exp being factored in).
Jungle – Complements Solo lane (both gets more exp this way), and allows for better gank advantages (it’s more of a unique role)

This is the complementary laning phase that players find to work well, because “in any teamfight, a team needs a burst, dps, tank, and support”, and the type of lane setup I mentioned above complements these needs perfectly when it comes to teamfights. In addition, it gives a natural understanding to players about “what my role is in lane, and what my role is out of lane/in teamfights”.

But ironically, GW2 severely lacks these types of complementary roles, which is a good thing when it comes to individual versatility, but not very beneficial to the aspects of complementary teamplay.

Yes. So you’ve re described what I just said:

" If I want to play a capture the point type of RTS game mode, I would play League and not GW2 because they’re literally the same thing. yes Im huge fan of Dota 2 too, If you really want to compare roles in Dota 2 and GW2 they are quite similar. Only real difference is that there is no big play skills in GW2 like blackhole or RP. I would love to see stuff like that.

And yeah you didnt say it, But it seems like overall theme on these forums. People really want this game to be league of legends 2 or something If we go there, I really want first person mode, railgun and rocket launcher.
