Lag or Bug?
If someone begins finishing while stealthed, they will start the animation when they reveal regardless of how far into the cast time.

Hmmm. I didn’t think they were stealthed since it seems to be happening all the time. I’ll keep a closer eye on this.
Thanks Evan.
I know it isn’t a big deal in the grad scheme of things, but you guys plan on cleaning that up in the future so the animation correctly displays when coming out of stealth?

And is this behavior intended or a bug?

So the game conspires to help them deceive us even when they are out of stealth?
Does this not strike you as just a tiny bit INSANE?
I wonder what your basis for comparison is…”

Sounds like something that should have been fixed in beta already.
not sure if its related but i’ve also had odd stomp behavior lately,
like people stomping from much greater distance, i even stomped a thief a moment after he’d teleported, he actually travelled but still got stomped where he landed (pretty far away)
Sometimes when I am stomping people my animation does not go all the way through.
I don’t know if it’s because I was interrupted but my last stand trait kicked in? Or maybe I was immobilized which didn’t stop the stomp?
But I’ve only noticed it on my warrior and thought somehow the stomp was interrupted, but then eventually my hand went up and they were stomped.
Oh and at least 2 times I have fought an engineer on mid point in Forest and he was unable to be stomped. He was downed, and standing above him gave the option to stomp. The stomp animation would go all the way through but the engi was still there. He also could not be cleaved or damaged and eventually healed himself up.
Both times it was mid point at Forest. Both times it was Engineers. But I do feel like another engineer had that happen on temple as well but it wasn’t as obvious so idk.
There is definitely some engineer skill that if timed just right bugs them out so they can’t be stomped. Idk how I would report it since it’s happening to someone else and not to me????

This is another animation bug that can happen with quickness. You’ll start stomping with quickness on, so the entire animation plays quickly, but the quickness wears off halfway through so the actual cast time extends beyond the animation.

But Evan, is this intended or are you planning to fix this? Or it’s an extremely hard issue to fix?

I am aware of quickness but I do not have any traits or skills that would give me quickness. Literally the entire stomp animation stopped happening and I was just standing there for a few seconds and then all the sudden I stomped him.
It’s happened more than once and always when I was taking fire from other enemies. My guess is I was immobilized or the last stand trait kicked in on a millisecond delay after the interrupt had hit me.

At some point. Somewhat.

Sounds like skill lag could manifest in that way also. Finishers are a ‘skill’ as far as the game is concerned. Were you getting any other skill lag?

Nope, no skill lag. The stomp finishes in the right amount of time, but somehow the animation of the stomp gets interrupted. I never go through the actual animation. I start it, then just stand there like I’m stunned or dazed, then a couple seconds later he’s stomped.
Whenever I get limited finishers I open them and let it auto-equip so I never pay attention to what finisher I’m actually using. It could be just a bug with the animation of the finisher I was using?? but idk what one it would have been…
The unstompable engi, however, is an issue.
