Double Kill? Double Kill!!!!
Tier 1 – Perform a Double kill (You no longer have to fear the zerg)
Tier 2 – Perform a Double Kill Without Assists (You no longer have to zerg)
Tier 3 – Perform a Double Kill against a top 500 team (You’re an adept at killing)
Tier 4 – Perform a Double Kill against a top 250 team (You’re a Master at dominating)
Tier 5 – Perform a Double Kill against Team Paradigm (I bow to your prowess in combat)

Turnaround (In your face!!!)
Tier 1 – Perform a mid game turnaround (Victory is sweet when you almost lost)
Tier 2 – Perform 3 mid game turnarounds (Wow, 3 times in a row? That isn’t luck anymore)
Tier 3 – Perform 5 mid game turnarounds (This old man he played 5)
Tier 4 – Perform 7 mid game turnarounds (You must be a famous basketball player)
Tier 5 – Perform 9 mid game turnaround against Team Paradigm (Please teach me your ways)

Stomp
Tier 1 – Perform a stomp (You’re no longer a noob)
Tier 2 – Perform 10 stomps (You look like you know what you’re doing)
Tier 3 – Perform 30 stomps (This might be too early but, I think you’ve got potential)
Tier 4 – Perform 50 stomps (There are two things I came here to do, Stomp noobs and chew bubble gum and I’m all out of bubble gum)
Tier 5 – Perform 70 Stomps against Team Paradigm (There is only one way to find out if they bleed)

Yes there needs to be more achievements but there also has to be better rewards. The grind is very dry and unrewarding. Give us some stuff that is unique in the sense that you hav to be exceptional to get it. Also, throw some things in that are issuable in pve and wvw but require you to grind pvp. Don’t just hand them crap…you have to keep them coming back!

What’s even worse than that small amount of PvP achievements is that the WvW ones are truly next to impossible to get.

Absolutely not. Just increase the AP that is rewarded for the current Achievements. Gimmick Achievements in sPvP and tPvP will only help to further destroy the sPvP and tPvP game type. You’ll have swarms of PvE’rs attempting to complete certain things just for the AP with no regard for their team and winning or losing a match.

I agree that people should’t be in tPvP messing around. But sPvP is suppose to bring (wait for it) Fun! to a player vs player setting. And i hope PvErs come to get the achieves and stay because they like it.

These made me laugh, but I’d rather see us get a boost on current achievement points such as the champion titles (off the top of my head they are 35 ap points?) Compared to when a new living story comes out and you can easily boost yourself 200+ achievement points in a day or two.

Sorry for not talking bout PvP but those numbers show we need more WvW achies in the first place, and not such a ridiculously long ones.

Almost none of these sound like achievement material, but they would make fun end-of-match descriptors, like those given after multiplayer matches in Super Smash Bros Melee.

sPvP reminds me very much of Call of Duty. Hotjoin, XvX, conquest matches.

Killstreaks, kills with weapons, time without dying, headshots are all stuff I went for in those games. Yes, GW2 sPvP is not an FPS but these are the kind of stats I love to see after a match. These can all have tiers: killstreak (2,5,8,10,15) kills with weapons (100,250,500,1000,5000) same as PvE, time without dying (1,2,4,5,10m). Those are a few examples but I’d really amp up my sPvP play if I could go for things like this.

I’d love for some class specific achievements other than “win xx games as an xx-class”.

I’d also love if these achievements were ‘gloatable’ in PvE worlds as well, Golden Staff for 5k kills? Golden Daggers for 5k kills??

Was just spitballin’ ideas but now that we have ANet posting here – I hope they bring in the players to help create a good feelin’ of personality to these rather than copy-pasting plain achievements.

I don’t think this applies to achievements. After all there are only so many devs that work on balance / bug fixes (apparently the same devs) there are others that could work on this.

Also to the people complaining about how PvEers will come by to get free achievement points … Step 1, rank lock achievements, Step 2 problem solved.

So many achies to just grind in a CA and takes 0 skill. I agree that we need achievements in PvP but not about that everything shall give one, even using blink 2378436 times.

I want “one time thing” achievements.

Not more “Do X, Y times across several matches” ones.

For example:

- Heroe’s Ascent: Your team delivered the spirit 20 times in a single match.
- Unstoppable: Ascend a spirit after being under chilled, crippled and immobilize while holding he spirit for at least 2 minutes in total.
- Cold War: Win in Legacy of the Foefire without attacking the enemy base or having your base attacked.
- In an and out: Defeat the Lord in less than 2 minutes without defeating any of the other NPCs.
- How it was meant to be: Win in Legacy of the Foefire by defeating the enemy Lord.
- Greedy Meditators: Your team didn’t let the enemy team channel a single medidation.
- Strike! Down or defeat 5 enemies at the same time with the trebuchet or the cannon.
- Ha, ha! Defeat an enemy by pushing them down in Skyhammer.
- Ha, ha, ha! Survive being pushed down in Skyhammer.
- Stop hitting yourself! Down or defeat an enemy with retribution.
- Stop hitting yourself!! Down or defeat an enemy with confusion.
- Stop hitting yourself!!! Down or defeat an enemy with a reflected projectile.
- Air strike – Down or defeat an enemy while in mid-air.
- This changes nothing! – Down or defeat a mesmer while transformed by their own polymorph.
- Burst smurst – Block 25 attacks within 5 seconds.
- How the hell did I get this? – Have 5 stacks of 7 different conditions on you at the same time for at least 10 seconds and survive.
- Risk! That’s my game: Your team captured and held all 3 points for 4 minutes.
- Tide-turner – Revive 4 team members who then defeat the ones who downed them.
- Here comes the meat train! Knock down the entire enemy team with a single Flesh Golem charge.
- Vacate these premises! – Use a CC skill to remove the entire enemy team from a capture point.
- The Rook : Defend a capture point solo from 4 enemies at the same time.
- The Bishop: Revive teammates 10 times in a single match.
- The Knight: Re-take capture points within 2 minutes of being captured by the enemy team 5 times in a single match.
- The pawn: Get the maximum score among all players in the match without getting a single top stat.
- The King: Get the Top stat in at least 5 entries in the current arena, no draws.
- The Queen: Score at least once for each of the current arena’s stats.

I don’t really like many of the ideas here since it would encourage something bad:
People farming hotjoins even more in various aspects, and thus demote teamplay
even more, and nobody cares about winning anyway.

Yeah as it is currently now pvp Achievements are a chore. I remember some time ago calculated how long it would take to get Legendary Champion achievement. So if you would play every day 30 matches and for every match would get 200 rank points, then it would take about 6.8 years to get this achievement.. Isn’t that insane?

For ideas of achievements:
- Master killer, capturer etc: top player in kills, res, capture points etc for x times,
- Master of the game: top player in all categories,
- Combo killer: kill using combo field,
- Combo master: make all possible combos that can be done with your class.
- Combo finisher: finish x combos
- Unstoppable: top player in kills, but zero deaths (you have to be top in kills, but not die a single time in a match)
-Unstoppable: (gives tittle) top player in kills, but zero deaths for x matches.
-Cheat death: evade x attacks that would otherwise kill you.
-Health breaker: interrupt cast of health skill.
-Elite breaker: interrupt cast of elite skill.
-Typhoon: knock back enemy x meters.
-Finisher: finish x enemies while there are y alive enemies around you in n range.
-Phoenix: rally x times.
-Damage dealer: do x amount of damage in one match.
-Healer: x amount of healing done in match.
-The shield: soak x amount of damage in one fight without dying (time starts when combat begins and stops when ends – when you are out of combat).
-Overkill: do x more damage than it would have needed to down an enemy.
-Master killer: kill 3 enemies that are in x range from you and no teammates are around in x range from you.
-Critter kill – critical hit x times in a row and doing this row down an enemy.
-Sniper – down an enemy from 1200 range.
-Cheater: blind an enemy when you have 5% of your max health and after that do not die (or be downed) for at least 5 seconds.
-Classy hunter: kill all different classes for x times.
-* [Insert class] weakness*: do not die in a match from [insert class].
Achievements with class related mechanics:
-killed, feared, interrupted etc x amount of enemies using class specific mechanic.
Group achievements:
Cap team: hold all the capture points for x amount of time.
Team shield: all teammates stay alive for x amount of time.
Team damage: team does x total damage and kills at least y of enemies in z time.
-Total control: win match 500/0 and you and your teammates can’t die a single time in a match.

All PvP achievements should be restricted to Team/Solo arena and should encourage winning.

that would defeat the whole purpose of achievements.

non casual players can stick to the solo / team arena without bothering casual players having their fun in the non arena game rooms.

why restrict?
everyone can have fun.

The problem with some achievements stated in here is if they are achievable through custom arenas, they are likely to be abused or done in a fashion that is basically selfish, promotes zerging/glory farming and goes against the mechanics of winning the game through conquest or actual teamplay which will do more harm than good in the current state of PVP especially hotjoin. I know hotjoin isn’t taken seriously as Arenas but do you guys really want to add more grindy stuff in PVP? There are loads of grind/farming achievements in PVE, please don’t let them infiltrate the PVP system even more. Achievement should be something challenging to execute, and are in line with winning the match, and not just kill X stuff or do X stuff x10000 times.

i thought some people were complaining about not enough achievements for sPvP.
i guess you lot are not them.

if people want to grind them in their own custom arenas, let them.
any unacceptable behavior in public game rooms can be reported.

no one is harmed.
everyone gets their fun.
