I’m rank 50 atm and I recently came back from a 3 month.
I consider myself a competent player and would lime to play with other players at the same skill lvl. Thing is I constantly end up in a 4v5 situation or even worse… 5v5 were my team mates just sit at spawn in the point difference is above 100, simply giving up…

So how the hell do I brake this cycle to gain “rating” and get matched with decent players?…

- You where by far the lowest ranked (the only one outside the top 1000) so you allready get matched with ppl “off your skilllevel”. If that really is your skilllevel that is.
- You performed the worst aswell. This could partially be due to rust ofc. But your pretending to just barch in and get to the top of the ladder instantly after taking a long break.

I don’t want to get to the top of the leaderboards I don’t give it any importance I just want to play with competent players vs other competent players…

And btw I do not have any engi character, I play thief, necro and warrior.

It doesnt get a lot better to be really honest. Anets matchmaking matches everyone with everyone. With the new patch a lot of PvE players joined the party and they have different strategies like capping homepoints with 3, going for bosses right away on forrest, rushing lord within the first minute on foefire, defending the treb with 3 against 1 attacker on Kyhlo.

And if they are behind by 100 (partially due to their weird strats) they go afk for the rest of the match. Really frustrating but there isnt anything we can do about it.

Im a bit higher ranked than you are on the leaderboard and i still get matched with totally new ppl. Today i had a 4 matches with a hambowwarrior who only used his longbow for example. Havent seen him use anything else in all games.
