About the leaderboards
I thought they implied they were not going to bother fixing it, until all the backend stuff (Justin’s work) is done and ready to roll out, a little after the feature patch.
This is an mmo forum, if someone isn’t whining chances are the game is dead.
I see this is ANOTHER THING that we use to complain about but no longer do because we know ArenaNet aren’t going to do anything about it.
Fair enough.
Someone explain how this is possible…
Top 25 with only 4 wins and almost double the losses!

No it’s different. You care about the leaderboards, that’s why you want them to fix it. But the biggest part of the PvP community doesn’t care, so why why would they fix it for a few.. New ladder ingame is coming, that’s great. Meanwhile we just play for fun, imo.

Yeah tired of tools who think anet should drop more important development work for trivial stuff which 99% of players don’t care about. This is a bottom end priority.
When the game is fun and interesting to play and has a sizeable population as a result, then we can worry about leaderboards.

Just lol, thats why spvp in this sorry state…. Great thinking !

If you think that people don’t care about leaderboards then you clearly have no idea about anything. If what you say is true (which it is not) then why do you think that is? OH WAIT – BECAUSE LEADERBOARDS ARE BROKEN.
It is worrying to know that ArenaNet may come in here and actually read your comment thinking you have any idea about what you are saying.

Uhm, no.. I know exactly what I am talking about. So many agree with me. Anet focus on the ingame ladder, not on something old. The faster we get ingame ladders, the faster GW2 gets a chance to get more competitive.

I agree with Quincy. The actual leaderboard is too much flawed, because too volatile. The simple fact of having people with less than 10 games played( plus maybe the 4v5 battles resulting in -40 ranks) are ruining it..
Is there any point when you’re placed #500 with 400 wins and 300 loses( just an example) while someone with 4 wins and 7 loses is placed #25..

I like how you are probably assuming that these ladders are coming soon and that they’ll work perfectly. If they can’t get a much simpler version of this (Leaderboards) to work after a year then I don’t have high hopes for them.
Leaving ‘things’ broken because there may be something better in the future is not how it should be – It is what forces people out of the game to the point where nothing will bring them back.

Sorry but, why work on something broken when something new is nearly coming? It will take more time than it’s actually worth. Of course you don’t have high hopes, you’re frustrated about something no one cares about. Which is making you short sighted.

That’s the point of this thread. Leaderboards aren’t even that far off but it’s the random 4-7 placed at #25 which is ruining the entire thing along with the terrible temporary decay system.

I can’t take you seriously when you say things like ‘No one cares about’ like you have asked everybody. I care about it and so do many others but after a while, people begin to give up complaining. It’s very similar to what is happening with the ‘Remove Skyhammer’ threads.

I’m not saying I disagree with you, but I’m going to point out that you really shouldn’t appeal to the masses to back up your claims. Yes, there are people who agree that the leaderboards are broken but when you word it like such “So many agree with me.” You seem to imply that a vast majority of the players agrees, which you simply don’t know is true or not.

You really need to stop assuming you know everything about everyone.

they wont fix it even though they know its broken, they just going to replace it with ladder system so if i were you i would stop caring bout leaderboard.

I suspect the people whining about leaderboards probably already know that. I suspect atm there are very few things to complain about BEFORE the feature patch, so why not complain about something insignificant.

I think you can see how utterly stupid that asumption is yourself so I won’t even bother explaining it.
I dont assume, I read things.
Your presumption that the majority of players do however post on forums is ludicrous and the forums simply do not represent the majority of the players.
You’re still appealing to the masses, it is still a logical fallacy and it does not further your cause in any way.
Altho neither does dumb remarks such as: Oh, you clearly don’t read forums nor hotm then

If the majority of players doesn’t say the same as me, what’s exactly my problem then? Most want ladder ingame, not a web browser, anyway. But not everyone is taking the effort to hop on forum and complain. Also, you can say whatever you want, I am taking the forum as serious as i do with the current leaderboards

Wow… there are ppl that actually care about soloQ ladder? really?
Wow… there are ppl that actually care about soloQ ladder? really?
That is the wrong way to look at it though empa.
Thing is, solo q ladder should be made to mean a lot. It should be an end game for a ton of people.
The reason we need competitive solo queue is because for most people team queue is unattainable. The commitment and problems involved in playing in a 5 man team are too significant. You need a certain comp to succeed (really need bunker guard for example, thief also v important). You need to not fall out with people. You need people who play at the same time of day. You need people to not going on holiday/work for a month and not be able to play much. There is just too much that can go wrong. Playing solo is a way for these people to have fun and competition in the game. Even to gain recognition if that is their aim.
Anet need to sort things out. Add a proper solo q ladder with regular resets and a grindy system which rewards volume of games played as well as quality. Add regular daily tournaments for teams with rewards like gems. Add bigger monthly tournaments. Allow shoutcasters to stream these tournaments.
It is so simple. This blueprint is tried and tested over many games over the last 10+ years. Why are anet not moving in this direction? The solo queue system should reward active players by meaning you lose less for losing than you do for winning an equivalent game.

Well, as long as Skyhammer is in the rotation, as long as easy-to-run-easy-to-win builds dominate soloq, the ladder won’t be significant in any way.
My guess is that they’ve stopped working on it because they’re working on ladders/seasons. Which would be a logical explanation but I’d rather see those soon then.
Bring back: ‘Gamer’ title + MAT’s!
Throw out: Hotjoin!

I would be okay with the current leaderboards being broken if the new ladders were coming next month but I have a feeling that this is something we won’t see til like October.

For the trolls^^
PPL in this game have no idea what a real league/ladder-system means, otherwise they wouldn’t take it that serious.
What’s worse is people thinking they are better than you because they play one game a month and are higher on the leaderboards…

Ah yes, the standard “olololol i trool joo” retreat.
No good sir, I think you’ll find that I do not care about this particular topic at all.
