I think EBay played a very strategic game during that match-up. Dragonbrand was always going to win but while YB was throwing most of its forces against DB in Eternal Battlegrounds, EBay was targeting YB controlled areas in the borderlands. Specifically our own borderland. EBay was fighting us for second place but we were to obsessed with Stonemist to realize it. As a primarily YB BL defender it was a frustrating match-up, but well played by EBay.

Was able to get in almost 2 hours of solo roaming and man was it fun being chased by so many people. Last match up for us on Ebay lasted quite a while so this is a nice change of pace, much more of a challenge with the amount of players CD and Yaks are able to bring out.

There was a pretty good human necro from [TOG] (mightve been TOC can’t remember) I got to 1v1. Let him rez up after and bowed. Hoping to find more of that this week. Cheers.

Already I see the flames of….flaming going on, this won’t do! We must be civil, polite and kind! Ergo, I have brought you a cup of coffee EB and CD, this is a long weekend for myself in particular (Lincoln’s Day being observed ^.^) so I expect perhaps great fighting in this week.

It does seem CD has gone downhill in players, as of they were owning T3 then lost it all, and lost to yaks bend. The week after they got their act together and actually won, but lost the next week. Yaks bend does extremely good on the first 48 hours of the week, then either starts losing their points, or stops flying ahead and just continues on at the same level as the others.
I have been WvW’ing on both of those servers for a month or more each, they were awesome, but I left because I didn’t like Yak’s opponents, and I thought CD was game over after everyone left them a month ago.
Yet I would love to come back to one of those, as my experience in T1 is horrible, I can’t go anywhere without running into 5 people.
Ebay I never actually was on, but I played against them many times and have very fewish population but strong well skilled players.

Ignore the trolls if they are whining or boasting, try and have fun.

All 3 of you guys are quality servers, if they brought out free transfers I would be back on one of you 3.

I do find it sad yet hilarious that even people in my own guild switched servers. Every server can lose battles 2 weeks in a row, it depends on who you’re fighting. No matter what server you’re on, eventually all will start losing and come crashing to the bottom due to some reason, and then you’ll be in the exact same position as before.

The fact that they left to avoid losing shows how they really feel about WvW…that winning is all that matters. Is winning good? Yes, but I have more fun just with the battles. When we were vastly outnumbered last week in WvW during YB’s primetime hours, I was having more fun just defending the keeps and playing around with the YB players than I was worrying about the actual score.

Yak’s Bend thief here! Don’t worry, we stuck around to snipe yaks for quite some time after that. We noted that eventually CD had 3-7 player yak escort teams, in some cases autoattacking the air around them.

Winning should have so little to do with whether you play WvW or not. What should determine how much you play is how even the scores are throughout the week. If one server is sitting at 600+ potential points and everyone else is low then there isn’t even a WvW to participate in. Coupled with the fact that ANet had absolutely no plan for WvW for the first 6 months after launch there is no incentive to actually win.

It’s all about the skirmishing and actually getting to PvP. If all you care about is your server winning for the week you have issues.

Not saying you have issues if you want to win. But if winning is all you care about… These are the types of people that throw gears, use skale venom, use pirate legs. You know the type. The type of person who will do whatever it takes using any underhanded tactic and showing absolutely no sportsmanship.

Sure there is no rule against using those consumables in WvW but we all know they will be removed. Same type of person that used golem boxes when we all knew how broken they were. You shouldn’t have to have your mommy or daddy come smack your hand and tell you not to do something that you know is wrong.

Yeah that was pretty awesome. SO laggy though! That’s the thing I hate about those 3-way battles. My stun breakers didn’t work or I just lagged then death.

Man, when we saw EBay pushing back into SM we golem rushed Valley so EBay could paper up SM (or at least take it away from CD, which is cool too). They couldn’t capitalize, however

Just finished SoH’s second WvW expedition of this matchup and it was another fun time. Started out in YBBL messing with some camps, then were called to CDBL.

Helped push back in CDBL and once the southern half of the map was turning blue I looked over and YBBL was all green. We can’t have that! So we went to YBBL and after a long battle we opened both outer and inner Bay walls before rushing all the way through. Well fought.

Then we got the word that Bay was being hit hard on CDBL. I was sad to see that our portion of YBBL was smacked hard and turned green soon after we left.

CDBL was being hit hard at both keeps, EBay on Bay, YB on Hills with golems. We managed to close the outer Bay gate and spent a good 15 minutes clearing out inner Bay. We did lose Hills but hey – you can’t win ’em all, especially with big simultaneous pushes.

All in all, it was a very satisfying run, and at no point did I feel like we were faced with overwhelming numbers. Let’s keep it up.

We might do that. It’s not really our thing to arrange these matches (that’s what sPvP is for), but if it will make you quit QQing then we might just do it.

Pretty sure YB didn’t gain many if any guilds in the Great Transfer. EB may have lost guilds, but we certainly didn’t get a large influx.

Well the thread for this week is a pile of poo thanks to that Archer guy being a kitten.

Oh well, no point in checking in on it any more after this since it’s only a day into it and full of garbage. To that end GL CD and EB, had fun last night and some good fights with you already. Shame that apparently, at least from the impression given in this thread, that EB doesn’t feel the same way. For what it’s worth I do hope both CD and EB have a fun week of fighting.

Everyone knows Archer want’s to be Bunzy.

I didn’t even have to go through much of this thread to see we’re being really misrepresented by one guy. The entire “zerg here zerg there” stigma is a server-wide problem Ehmry Bay has. People don’t like it being pointed out but it’s true. In Ehmry Bay, anything beyond 10 players here is considered a “zerg”. It’s as much an incorrect wording problem as it is a really kittenty understanding of what zergs are. Mainly due to the fact that unfortunately, with the Shadow Moon gone from Ehmry Bay, all people know how to do is hive-mind maps with no tactical or strategic prowess whatsoever.

I will not be the first one to say that we don’t zerg in Ehmry Bay, nor will I say that other servers don’t zerg us either, but taking in account what an ACTUAL zerg IS, we rarely ever do get glimpses of that in our tiers. Lack of actual tactics and understanding of WvW turns people like Archer into the boy who cried zerg. And then he brings that here and makes the entire server look like we’re crying about it. I can’t whine about zerg/group rushing other servers because my guild does that, but we’re coordinated, just as much as any other server can claim they are coordinated with their 30-man squads.

A fine example of countering Archer’s argument would be the servers we faced last week. They had good numbers for their tier, almost rivaling ours (my guild and another held their entire main force in their own BL). I am talking about Devonas Rest. They HAD the numbers, and outnumbered US at times, but poor organization made them lose and get stomped.

All in all, Archer, please stop making us look bad with your apparently incessant whining, because for what it’s worth, after losing all of Ehmry’s supposed “core” guilds, we’re doing pretty kitten good, and if we manage to get ahead of CD’s score, it’ll be a record to our server’s performance. We have managed to keep the SM for a few hours now.

Shouts out to Kelliss for taking it, and shouts out to Yaks Bend for being super annoying and giving us their all to take it back, keep up the fight, I’m enjoying fighting you guys!

I’ve watched his videos and he looks exactly like every other good elementalist out there – uses all of his skills on rotation while not actually paying attention to skill telegraphs or opponents boons/abilities. All good elementalists do is fly around at mach 5 using all of the skills at their disposal, not using them strategically. Can’t count how many times Bunzy was downed in his WvW videos.

He’s no different than other good elementalists. He just makes himself well known.

BP left because the server sucked, and they said so; so did HIRE. RP went back to another server because the grass was greener on the other side. And on a side note, if we were so bad, why was Grimaldi trying to get us to join his server so ardently? Oh I shall never know.

^.^ Thanks for the fun three way fight at SMC yesterday. Even though we weren’t that many, you guys kept attacking and attacking for like forever.

I will not say I am not happy to fight YB again, because they always entertain in ways beyond previous matches. And I do enjoy their strategy as well as tenacity to keep up their pace.

It is not because they are many, as I observed the three servers were of equal number some of the time, just very spread out.

And as for EB, well, good to finally harvest some badges from you guys. Though I’m not particularly fond of having to run after you at that invulnerability spot in SW supply camp. :/ That is one thing which ARANET failed to fix. And hopefully will fix ASAP; so you can’t hide haha.

I like how you guys would bunker up in our supply camps. It reminds me of what we used to do when facing Kaining when we had nothing but the north camp. We defended that place like forever because that was all we had haha. Though you guys do have the numbers and strength to be on toe with YB if not better.

I also noticed that YB slacked this week. Not many of them yesterday >3< Or was it because of some other reason. (Go up a tier now will you >3<)

I just can’t stop laughing at the whining in this thread. Happens every time we play Ehmry. I’m wondering if they reason they whine is either because A) Since they lost a lot of players (probably based on the whining) they don’t have the numbers to compete in anything above T4. or B.) They just aren’t geared, or are bad at WvW.

I can speak for Part B. There has been many times, this week, and past matches where 10 YB guys ran into a 40 man Ebay Zerg, and wiped them. I’m sure a lot of other players can also say this. Is it because they are squishy? Yes. Are they bad players? Probably not. To speak about YB double teaming you is idiotic. It’s called WvWvW. That’s the way ArenaNet designed it, and they have even defended that statement. Also, YB does not form any “Alliances” with other servers. To prove this, ask Grimaldi on your server. He came to myself, and other YB Alliance Commanders asking us if we would help you guys team up on DB. We respectfully declined because YB is simply not that kind of server. We fight for ourselves, and are happy to do so.

I have been to Ehmry’s community site, and their forums are filled with trolling/arguing/whining just like the public forums. So from my observation, I want to think that it’s not YB or CD that cause this, it’s themselves. Their community site is supposed to be a place where the server comes together, and instead it looks like the server is being pulled apart, and it carries over to the official forum. Where Ebay takes a break from kittening at eachother, and pushes the blame on other servers.

I don’t blame the Guilds for leaving Ebay, even though it sucks that you guys lost them. I really doubt they miss Ebay though considering the attitude of the server.

I can officially state that YB has not received any “large” transfers. Yeah, we get a few small Guilds, but it’s nothing like Kaineng got back in the day, or Maguuma. The secret with YB is that everyone in WvW is on the SAME Mumble server. You know what that means? It means that we are more capable of being successful in WvW because we can turn on a dime, and we know whats being attacked at a moments notice. Would I say it’s skill? Partly yes because skill takes communication.

Anyways, let’s just stop the trolling and talk about fun times that we all have in WvW this week, share some epic stories, or pictures. Let’s just have good sportsmanship and play for fun, and play to win. I want every server to win this week. If it was possible. Unfortunately, there can only be one winner. So instead of trolling on the forums, why don’t you actually go out and play the game If my post is taken the wrong way, so be it. All I know is, I’ll actually be out there fighting on the field, rather than typing on the forums, and wondering why your server isn’t doing as good.

Maybe that is something to discuss as a server! It definitely helps a ton! :P

I’m so tired of attacking Hills on CDBL. We were inside once and couldn’t crack the lord’s room, and we were trying to get through the outer for two hours after that. By the end of the night one of my guildies suggested that we just leave the kitten place alone for a little while so all the YB would get bored and leave.

I couldn’t pick out which particular guilds it was holding the keep, seemed like a conglomeration, but you were more persistent than I. And I’m pretty persistent. But that’s an interesting (and vulnerable) new treb placement on the bridge. It took me an hour and a half to find a spot outside of its’ range that could barely splash the wall.

Several posts back, when I was all positive about how it was alright that we lost Hills because we still did a good job defending Bay, etc. etc… I’d like to have some choice words with that version of myself.

Cheers for the great battles on CD BL today. We captured Hills at around 10:30am Server Time. Over the next 11 hours CD fought hard to get it back, breaching outer several times and even making it to the lord cage twice. But YB held the line each time (still ours at the time of this post). I can’t even remember every attack but I am fairly sure we killed at least 15 golem and 20 trebuchet over the course of the day

Oh wait… We are terrible leaders that only want bad to come upon our guild. Confronting him was probably the best course of action anyone could commit to.
