All I see is Bunzy being his usual self.

He has been inquiring about xfering to ehmry on their forums a little birdie told me.

A lot is culled on that screen but we had around 20 arrow carts on the 3rd floor, a treb or 2 and ballistas on the ramp.

Whoever took the castle couldn’t clean the rats out of the attic and also couldn’t commit their entire force to defend so we flipped it a number of times with lots of badges, karma and full inventories. TC tried a lot of portals but DB ended up wiping us out head on with a huge force.

Pretty much this. Higher tiers are played like that, and the people who like that style of play went to those servers. While lower tiers are played a lot differently. It seems like two entirely different games (figuratively speaking) going from mid tier level WvW to high tier level WvW. Having been on both CD and TC, along with a bunch of people I play with, we’ve experienced both levels and have seen both sides of the arguments. These two servers, along with others, have been all around T2-T4.

I think it’s best to just realize that the match up was bad for the reason that between T2 and T3 is like a split between two different styles of play. If you enjoy smaller fights that rely more on skill than numbers, stick to being in a lower tier server. If you enjoy high numbered zergs (still involving skill) then stick to a higher tier server. It’s as simple as that.

NNK is a t1 zerg! Very formidable

I just wanted to stop by the Thread and say Congratz to TC, my former adversaries for moving back up to T2. I have to say I underestimated FA and thought SoS still had more fight in them to stay in T2, but you all proved that you deserve to move up.

Here’s an idea. I think WM and VoTF should transfer to TC and all the great guilds on CD, DB, SBI, SoS, and Kaineng from all time zones should move over to TC. Then you guys will take SoR’s place in T1. Then we at Blackgate, and TC can 2v1 JQ for the rest of eternity as punishment for their lack of role play. This will allow us to end the match early every week so we can move the Doylak Parade to Wed, and just GvG and Duel behind the windmill for the rest of the week. We’ll even allow JQ to participate if they want. LOL

j/k But Seriously I was cheering for TC. Way to go guys! We missed the Parade this week.

I don’t think it’s really complaining. Think of it as the kettle pointing out that the pot is also black. By the way, it wasn’t just Maguuma, even a Dragonbrand person pointed it out, and then some TC guy decided that person was malicious and took the moral high road, or something.

I don’t know why you continue to presume that you know what my experience has been, ignore my descriptions of it, and then assume I don’t know what I’m talking about. You would do much better to ask questions then continue to be condescending. I’ve done my best to describe the differences between playing against TC vs. playing against FA, and describe why it was less fun, and suggest that Mags has work to do to be able handle it. My hope is that when we next TC (although I doubt we will for a while), we are better prepared for how your server plays.

Personally, one of the reasons I (and others I know) came to TC was because they kept fighting the entire week. I think DB does that pretty well, just not enough as a whole server.

It’s also been said that a lot of the new faces have been coming for map exploration completion, but it seems you want to make up whatever you like to discredit our server and attempt to make yours look better. Please try harder.

As for the first comment, the core Wv3 players won’t give up, we’ll keep coming at you no matter what the odds are and do what we can. Fairweather players are present on all servers and you won’t see them unless you’re winning, however, our numbers have not once been as low as yours this week no matter how much we’ve taken a beating.

That’s entirely possible. I don’t remember what server you were on before TC, but I’m sure you fought Maguuma 1.0 and know that we were the same back then. Unfortunately, WvW isn’t as fun for a lot of us now, so it’s kind of a thing of the past. With less of the WvW regulars committing throughout the week and more fairweather players that poof in higher tiers, it definitely looks like a ghost town sometimes. And it really affects me, because I play on the tail end of NA prime time. I don’t really understand why killing world bosses is being spoken as a pejorative here, though. Like omg how dare they PvE!

C’mon people, we’re done now, but yea I remember old Mags as well. Hope your leaders can revive those days, cus wether you all like it or not. You guys are in the top 3 tiers…

I’ve been nice all week

We’ve been trying really hard to wrangle our forum warriors all week, but at the end of the day, nobody controls anyone. We’re all adults here. I just wish folks would see that it takes a heck of a lot more energy to be angry than it does to be happy. And happiness is infectious. As is anger. The choice really is up to you on what you want to see grow.

In our convos Zav, it was mostly goofy stuff. You’d taunt me about Mags taking SM and I’d reply that I was off to craft in your garrison (sadly I forgot there were no crafting tables there, lol). I like talking to the enemy because it lets me see that what is sometimes portrayed on the forum isn’t exactly how it’s like in game, or in real life (personality-wise).

My only agenda is to bake cookies, hug people, and try to put the best fight I possibly can.

As for getting the fairweathers out when things are not so pretty. Here’s what I did all week, while we were winning, and seeing our maps filled to the brim with new bodies:

Every morning at 11 am EST, I would run a short 10-minute WvW clinic — just the basics, but I took the time to answer questions and outline some of the most simple concepts of WvW so that new folks coming in felt more comfy.

I would advertise these clinics about ten minutes before I started them in all the major cities and hubs, and when folks arrived, I’d be patient and actually run them to various spots on the map, so that it wasn’t just a verbal lecture, but a visual one, too.

Over the weekend, I got two people each day. During the week, in the time period that we need more bodies, I was lucky to get 10 or more each day. If we retain even 5% of those new folks into our Tier 2 match, when things are tougher, I will consider it a minor victory. If we don’t, then I got to spend some pleasant time with some nice people.

But the key is organizing, being pleasant, most of all patient, and understanding that the toughest part for a new player coming into a WvW map is that they pretty much feel helpless because they don’t know how things work.

Having a real, live body there to explain and answer is a way to establish not only a welcoming community, but a foundation of people doing WvW the proper way. Fewer mistakes that way, confidence is gained as results are seen, and siege is placed out of the way of enemy aoe, lol.

A more passive learning system for new folks is to have a daily map trivia during “down” times. Have the vets shout out in /map tips and tricks they learned in WvW. Remember to start with the very basics, like the difference between a tower and keep and supply camp on the map and how to distinguish the difference. You’ll laugh, but folks new to WvW won’t have a clue what the difference is and how it can impact WvW.

Just a suggestion for the Mags folks when they hit T4 and start getting their fairweather folks again. Take advantage of the numbers and take time to teach. It’s highly likely you guys are already doing this, but I’m just letting you know what seemed to work well for me this week.

Eh, I am not so convinced that training our fairweathers will have a significant impact. It’s hard to judge their motivation, so I just default to the obvious “they don’t play when we lose” so training defeats the purpose. We did have some large scale training the first time we got our fairweathers with over 200 people in attendance on Mumble for both sessions, but eh…effort. I’m fine with answering questions when people have them, but I don’t think many of us have the energy to actively reach out to people about these things.

I saw you doing that, it was awesome. I dropped that AC for that person who asked how Siege was dropped, it felt good helping. I’m sure that more people will want to WvW and participated with us after that, it’s always a plus!

Strangely enough more sub-80’s bowed back and or had a friendly fight/Duel than lv 80’s so I like your PUG’s (Or Alts).

Thanks for the fights this week all. It has been very tough sledding on Mag… but thanks to all the badges left at SM a few nights ago

Also, hats off to our commanders and those keeping the fight going. Sabrina, Leafy Lass, Paralda… you all led some kicken comebacks several nights. Apologies to other commanders as I tend to see them the most, but I know you are out there Rebel Daughter, Invalid…

I see Static in WvW every day and I’m sure his/her insights into TC are as valid as any posting here, possibly more. I just wish you guys would realize you two are not going to convince the other of anything. It is what it is.

I was happy to see the fair weathers this week, simply because we have been trying to lure them in for a while now. Hopefully some positive foundations were laid this week and we will see more of them out after reset.

All we’ve said all week is that losing doesn’t bother us and it doesn’t change our perspective on things. All we wanted was good fights. We didn’t get much of those, so we are disappoint.

I tried shaking hands and wishing Tarnished Coast well I even bowed to all of you in your Battleground. They just ran into the nearest fortification or summoned 5 other friends to try and attack me.
