Really well said speech. I’ll disagree that you all are the only server with an incredible community and the drive to fight outmanned, but the fire is there and I have nothing, but the utmost respect for SoR and its guilds.

I listened to a good 5 minutes, very inspirational speech that many servers have heard from various different people.
I do believe that we all want to be the best so we can leave our mark in the GW2 History books and feel the accomplishment that comes with being #1. I know that all of us in Blackgate are putting in countless hours to get to that point and God willing, we’ll get there sooner than we think. Good luck fellas

I believe all three servers have fought uphill battles and strove to win, survive or just plain hang on against all odds. Thats what makes this match great…it’s a fight between three worthy opponents.

EDIT: I didn’t say BG went to bed, I said ICoa went to bed. Though next time maybe you should wait until you hold SM for at least one tick before you port out, it was flipped before the next one. Fifteen times, man that’s a lot.

AND by the way. Choo posters started this, not us. So don’t blame BG or ICoa, we got along just fine with every other server and guild.

Blame the hate on ICoa because of one mesmer jumping a wall in NOVEMBER! The commander that was commanding that night as well as the member DO NOT PLAY THIS GAME ANYMORE.

Choo, I used to have a ton of respect for you guys, I’ll copy paste my posts from Tier 2 if you don’t believe me. Way to rally all your forum warriors against “that one guild that shall remain nameless”.

“SoR has the best NA” -Constantly behind in PPT throughout NA timeslot.
“SoR can wipe anyone in open field” -Choo gets wiped by ICoa multiple times on reset night.
“SoR loves all guilds except for ICoa” -SoR loses its best NA argument, its open fighting argument, so settles in on Forum warrior fighting.

Well you’ll probably win that one, so hey don’t feel too bad.

Fact is, you can’t bear to admit ICoa grown in tactics and strategy enough to put you on your heals in WvW. Do we insta wipe you guys? Of course not. But we and every other BG guild in NA are stopping you in your tracks now, and you can’t stand it, so you lash out in public forums.

I wonder what your VoIP was like when the guild that only exploits made you hit that waypoint button. I bet you were angry. The forum posters show it.

So stop bringing up something that happened 4 months ago and concentrate on the fights, cuz you have to admit, they are kitten good fights.

Although, it would be nice if Choo didn’t port out of EBG right as most of ICoa made it in the queue. Nice timing porting back in at 1:30 AM to hit us after most of us went to bed. Hope you got that SM fight on vid, cuz you’ll be able to see the 15-20 ICoa vs 50-60 TW and Choo and how we held you off for another tick

Of course Icoa wiped us 3-4 times during reset night. We wiped Icoa at least 15 times though.

And that SM fight we indeed outnumbered the crap out of you guys. Then we left to defend SoR garrison leaving SM abandoned as we had nobody there. We’re moving across every BL since we’re the only ones online, so if I were you I wouldn’t be making complaints about BG going to bed…

EDIT: I’ve made the point I needed to make. I’m done. Blame everything you want on one guild or one person from one guild, if it makes you feel tougher or better about your server or your guild that’s fine.

Anyone who’s actually reading whats going on can figure it out for themselves. I led the ICoa force in EBG for 8 hours tonight. It was good and fun fighting. This here? Not so much. So if you have any issues or questions about ICoa, feel free to send me a PM, I won’t be responding to any more of the negative stuff here, again, as I feel the point has been made in this post and others.

No. Whack-a-mole was last night outside of SoR BL Bay with that noname BG guild just CONSTANTLY pouring out into our attacks that just devolved into people spamming the teleport exit…AND THEY JUST KEPT COMING!

I really want to know what that guild was thinking when they were doing that. “Maybe their gear will break from smacking us too much!”

A word to the wise, we’ve been in situations where we didn’t have the coverage to win, but that never meant that we didn’t compete when we were on. The only thing you have the power to change is your own map. Accept that and own it. Paint whatever map your server can field your color.

Claiming that you are wiping forces so that makes it okay that you are doing poorly as far as the map goes just seems like an excuse to not do the best that YOU can do at that time. I say this not to call out individuals or insult anyone, but rather to convey a greater philosophy. Who cares if your server is at +80 if you know that +80 is the work of your map and that you are standing strong against adversity. Fighting the overwhelming odds is one of the most courageous things one can do. Look your enemy in the face and say, “I will not yield.” At the end of the day, it does not matter who won and who lost, it matters that you left everything on the field.

Bear in mind that this is coming from the leader of a guild that plays absurdly late NA hours and, until recently, BG did not have the Oceanic presence to hold out against servers who did. We stood tall and we held the points we could. Fighting outmanned or not, we’ve stayed and fought to the last tower, the last camp. Who cares if your PPT isn’t the greatest? “Best NA” isn’t something that defines your server, it just chains you to an ideal that is not you. Your server is defined by your spirit. There is no reason that you have to feel like if you lose in a time zone where you thought you were “the best”, that you should make excuses and try to cheapen the success of others.

I listened to that speech and I respect the positive things that Indo said. I won’t go into what was utter nonsense because I don’t want to fight here, just share my perspective. The point is, I heard what Indo said, and I know that the guilds on SoR share his beliefs. You have all drank the Kool-Aid and you can all bring the heat, I’ve seen it first hand. Go out there tomorrow and if you are going to go down, do it swinging. Show your opponents why you are in Tier 1. Show them that you are here on your heart alone and that you need nothing else than your brothers in arms standing beside you as the hordes descend upon your keep. Every keep and every tower are pieces of SoR. Fight for your home.

I heard bout a single guild on some SO* server isn’t very well liked by some SO* guilds as well… true?

I’d just like to say thanks for some fun and awesome fights, from both servers. Without a doubt this has been a great match up so far and i’m sure its only going to get better as the week goes on.

Oh and heres something to lighten the mood a bit.

Wow, really? BG has clawed its way to Tier 1 three times since I joined it – three. Nobody paid people to come to us – guilds saw how hard we fought, how we didn’t give up, how we didn’t make excuses when we lost. Even after a LOT of guilds left and other server trolls labeled us cheaters we pushed past it. Every time we rose back to the top we came out swinging, we gained more people, we gained more momentum. Maybe SoR can do that too, but first you’re going to have to stop living in the fairytale land where every other server is evil, every guild you fight are cheating scumbags, and the only reason you’re losing is because you’re the only one ‘playing fair’. Nobody wants to move to a server that is that toxic to the rest of the community. The fact is, every server in this game thinks they have the best community – skillwise, there isn’t much that separates us at all – and we all have scumbags and cheaters. The only thing that does separate us is how we act towards one another – and we could all learn a lesson from Tarnished Coast there.

And for the record I find all this ‘stacked server’ nonsense really amusing, coming from a server that wouldn’t even be in T1 had it not been for massive guild transfers from SBI, and abusing the rankings to leapfrog out of T2.

That’s medium inquest armor from the Crucible of Eternity, and yeah, it’s one of my favorite skins.

On topic though, some awesome fights with BG and SoR. You rallians definetely still bring the pain during primetime as usual, but i’ve been rather impressed by Blackgate. I wasn’t sure if they would have a really strong NA contingent, but they have some really solid guilds playing during those hours. Shoutout to GoF, HB and LotD, we had our fair share of back and forth wipes on reset night, but i think they came out on top, and we were pretty much stopped in our tracks on SoRbl.

Also, yesterday afternoon on BG was hilarious, after SoR took BG garrison, our little outmanned JQ group of 25 or so started causing havoc, we took two towers and managed to hold out for quite some time until we got smacked back down. i’ve had a great time fighting this matchup, let’s see if BG can keep it exciting during the weekend like SoR unfortunately doesn’t have the coverage to do.

Joke aside, just want to share with you guys. Today I happened to watch Kingdom of Heaven again from a TV show at a friend place. While enjoying amazing medieval setting and lighting works, the scene of Saladin breaking the city wall with trebuchet, troops outside getting ready to charge in, when troops inside getting ready for wall down comes. I felt sudden urge to jump in to WvW. Now back at home and kitten enjoying the fights.

Not at all. It is a good way of measuring success if you small group or solo.

It indicates how many times you were able to beat your opponent and how many times you were beaten. It is more an indicator of pvp than a raid capping a keep, as your success is purely based on your ability to fight the enemy.

This isn’t meant to take away from the challenges of siege warfare of course. When it comes to that, there is a different measure of success.

And this is the key wording here. If you aren’t geared or spec’d towards either, a loss is a moot point. I think we all value competition on equal (or near equal) footing. It’s like rolling over a group of 10 with 30. Big deal.

Group vs Group action in this game is lacking overall. Between the broken mechanics, silly ability lag and the lacking support from Anet you bang your head against a wall more often then not. That being said a lot of the names here have been around a long time and this is just another game to play to pass time until something better drops. But for a game called ‘Guild Wars’ it’s pretty much failing in this regard.

On another note, I’m finding this rumor paying thousands upon thousands of gold to ‘buy’ Guilds rather amusing. People actually believe we paid for 800+ people to change servers? Have you done the math? The cost is astronomical.

LotD has been really enjoying the fights, good to be back in T1. Shout out to SF, keep bringing it.
