Great fights all around today. JQ refuses to give our Garrison back! We get in and wipe wave after wave and we just until we can’t anymore. Good fighting!

Extremely fun fighting today, constant fights and overall your guys ability to keep coming regardless of wiping is nothing but admirable. I’ve always respected BG and you guys gave me another reason to do so. Thanks for the fights, and thanks for not giving up, more people could really learn quite a bit from your server.

^ is correct. The bug exploited is when and arrow cart is built around where that one is shooting and shoots into the lords room to clear siege and kill defenders.

In that case I apologise. It did look like a hack at the time.

I might add, since its sure to come up, that currently scepter eles can fire dragon’s tooth, with nothing targeted from behind a gate/wall and the aoe will land about 600 range in front of them, on the inside of the gate/wall.
So if you see smaller red circles hitting your siege inside thats close to walls/gates think about placing it a bit further away from both.

I don’t think the score at present really reflects JQs "scare"last week as much as it reflects BGs morale this week. Alot of JQ were pretty casual about last week and were happy if we lost first place last week to BG because it provided some competition. As a few people said, “lets not lose any sleep over this, we are likely to be fighting them for a fair few weeks now”.

Obviously not all of us had the same attitude. I put in only couple of extra hours over the course of the week. I think its important not to see WvW as a duty and I think alot of JQ players know this and is a big reason JQ has been a stable server for pretty much since the start of GW2 WvW.

Anyways, Im out, time to go farm some more PvE!

First of all, he said “Alot of JQ were pretty casual”, and then mentioned that not the entire server had the same mentality. Second, when did JQ players cheat, do you have proof, screenshots? If you are referring to the random posts that were made on forums a few days ago, does that really prove that the major guilds on our server were hacking, let alone the entirety of JQ? If this is your stance, then every random hack/exploit accusation leveled at BG and SoR is true and represents the gaming mentality of that entire server.

Please report all exploiters you see, whether they are on your server or not. And stop whining about it on the forums. Plenty of flying people from all servers. Best thing is to get them banned, not tar their server. We remember Hackgate and how that played out, tarring a whole server for the actions of a small guild of griefers who have long since departed.

I can’t really speak for other guilds, though I know a lot of the guilds we work really well with on JQ tend to have a similar approach, but we are very casual and you would be hard pressed to find us go SRSBSNS mode where the guild plans out an entire huge stretch of massive playtime. As an example of this, tonight, after most of the guild had gone to bed, only about 10 of us remained on JQ BL. If we were in such a SRSBSNS mindset, we would have made some sort of effort to siege up hills/retake it later on. Instead we discovered that we could goad this silly group of invaders into a perpetual counter-siege loop. Wondo could probably describe it better, but I believe it was our treb to counter their treb that was countering our catas that was countering their arrow carts that were originally built to counter our trebs that were constantly hitting bay. I’m fairly certain this would have continued for quite some time if everyone hadn’t become distracted by the next shiny object in the form of all of us on our necros spamming marks.

Had a roaring time in JQ BL running around bay in a constant rampage and other random acts of extreme, thrill seeking, drunken violence with our mates in EA as every man and his dog thought they where a hard case and wanted some.
Bay is being trebbed- have a slug
Took a keep- chug!
Blow up trebs- have a slug
Took a camp- have a slug
Someone mentioned double team- …drink, kill em all
Cry for help- port to SOR hills, kill every dirty kitten and have a drink

By far some of the funniest things and times I’ve had in a while

After over a 15 hour shift of non-stop WvW, I managed to lead my guys into taking Garrison back from JQ, Bay back from JQ, and almost Hills (had to go, to tired). SOR you have a thief on your server that is hacking and flipping an EB tower, Longor gulch to be precise. Now before all the ohh you did not memser sweep or it was a flash golom rush we have it being flip with people sitting in the tower.

Longor might be bugges so i am trying to get screens to send to anet but is kinda hard since i dont know what he is doing.

You do realize I’ve got many friends in Blackgate, a lot of which were former KnT that left your guild for one the reasons I did – poor leadership and nothing getting done. They’re so far the only people to have wiped me. Meanwhile every time I’ve seen KnT they’re getting wiped or fleeing. I will say it was enjoyable getting 2 bags after stomping you yesterday.

Reviving a Mesmer through a regular gate instantly feels wrong when you think about it, so I’d have to say it’s frowned upon at the least, an exploit at the worst.

Can I shake your hand through a wall? Exactly. To me, it is clearly not intended. I’d say that it is a borderline exploit because of the nature of the incident. That person is clearly not supposed to be alive without anyone else being alive inside the keep the revive them. The reason this cannot be applied to weapons cleaving through gates or AoE going through gates is because that is not game breaking and it is currently how it works with their engine. This is a biproduct of said engine, but it is obvious to me that it is not intended.

I see 3 different problems all stemming from the same engine/los problem. AC’s/Cata’s against the back of a gate, Dragon’s Tooth on seige behind walls, rezing mesmer’s through a gate.

Anet already stated that cata’s against the back of a gate was unintended, but that it would take major engine reworking to fix it and it isn’t a priority right now. So, cata’s and ac’s used to hit the backside of a gate are indeed an exploit. This means that Dragon’s Tooth and rezing through a gate are also exploits. So let’s all agree not to do any of these things! Yeah that’ll work.

I simply think that anet needs to do something about how long you can just lay their dead. There should be a hard cutoff of 10 minutes before you are forced to rez or afk’d out. I personally don’t mind putting a scout on a dead mesmer’s body if the time period is finite, but when the mez can just sit there indefinately, there is something wrong. I just camp it for the 10 minutes and submit the starting pic and ending pic in with a bug report. If they haven’t afk’d out after 10 minutes they are circumventing the afk mechanism and it is a ban-able offense. Hopefully I’ve gotten some mez’s suspended, but who knows.

Yea we know, this guy has struck before a few weeks back when SOS was here. We dont know who he is but he is on during oceanic primetime and usually hits the back towers in EB or the spawn towers.

If you can manage to grab a screenshot and get in touch with someone on SOR we would greatly appreciate it. Though we didnt know it was a thief…. any bit of extra info you guys can get would help us catch him.

Ah…no this was water gate at bay, the round one, not the one above water. This isn’t effected by the ram mechanic as this gate never goes down, but you can see through it.

Yes this could be something that bogs down the system. However, this game has been out for over 6 months and arena net has been made clear that hacking still exists, and for some reason its upon the player to report any hacking, and arena net stands by and does nothing? i know arena net really doesnt just stand by, but after this long, it is starting to feel that way. This is something recent and has a very quick fix that if enough people(once again it’s on the players to let arena net know something is wrong with there game) we can have this fixed by next patch. I 100% see where you are coming from, but will disagree that the use of the exploit reports in this situation is not beneficial.

I love how everyone just says well just report him, I wish there was because there isn’t a option to drop down box when you report players specifically for exploiters/hackers. For your information this was during the last week of JQ/SoR/SoS, the ranger died to the guards and respawned then showed back up here within a few mins. Look at the timestamp.
Every server has their share of bad apples, JQ just seems to have the majority of em with the mentality of “Will do whatever it takes to win (Exploits included)” since I always hear so many “JQ is hacking into our tower again” talks in our map chat.

Thanks for those that showed up. It was very difficult hosting today with so many 3rd party viewers. We didn’t intend so much frustration from both sides. Nevertheless, our end goal was to promote a healthy rep serverwide no matter how chaotic it might have been.
