see it may not be intentional “double teaming” on ET but it sure does seem like it, we have people that upgrade our towers/keeps but the issue is when we do upgrade it we either have to rush back to EB because the Ferg Zerg is pushing in our terroritory in EB or BC is omega golem rushing stuff in our BL. it gets demorilizing and tireing and I think that’s why a lot of ET is getting abit tired of WvW

You wouldn’t lose overlook nearly as often if you would stop pestering Stonemist with trebs and drawing attention to it either. Teamspeak that night was full of Lukian exclaiming “GO HOME ET, YOU’RE DRUNK!” “RECLAIM YOUR OWN BORDER FIRST THEN COME HERE DUDES” every time you guys popped up during the most random times and senselessly went into attack mode.

Wow this forum sucks now lol.

ET’s biggest problem is the lack of a night crew and the fact that most of our commanders have no intent to ever defend anything, so why waste your gold to upgrade things if no one will defend it? also sick and tired of a lone commander calling everyone on the BL to them so they can zerg around with zero organization taking one target at a time. I rarely see anyone guarding dolyaks, upgrading camps(let alone towers/keeps) and there is certainly no multitasking going on at all. Take the camp while your waiting for the rams to knock down the gate, hell take 2 towers at once or even 3, 12 people=3 rams if you remember(15 for superior rams) and if they have ACs knockin out your rams, then back up and use catas on a wall for cryin out loud. Don’t even try to tell me that you need 40 people to take a tower because that’s just idiotic. Wanna know how to beat a server that just zergs around? Divide and Conquer… a ball of 40 imbeciles is hard to beat 1v1 but if you hit multiple towers on opposite sides of the map than they can’t get you both can they? Grade school level tactics but you don’t even use them. That’s why ET is red right now, no other reason. Suck it up and learn or get used to losing. FYI dolyaks at unupgraded camps will die before they reach their destination because the game sends random NPCs to attack them so Doly Defenders are a must until the first guard upgrade. But that’s my frustrated 2 cents, so I’m gonna go back to trollin and roamin now, thank you for reading.

P.S. Before someone tries to flame me for it, FoE when they’re on actually does things like this which is the only reason we don’t get obliterated on reset nights.

Hi HoD/ET/FC I am a member of a very small guild who run a solid 3-4-5 man team. We are considering transferring to T8, and were wondering if if we could get some information about the tier. Like zerg sizes, different server peak coverage times, annoying players on servers we should be aware of things like that. Thanks, and maybe we’ll see you on the field soon.

HoD isn’t the best server to ask. We havent been in T8 very long. However, as far as zerg sizes go, it really depends. FC has one hell of a zerg running around. One of the largest i’ve ever seen and this isn’t my first rodeo. Other than that, A zerg is a zerg, there are more than 15 people running around on a commander tag usually.

As far as coverage, all of these servers seem to have pretty crappy night coverage.

HoD definately has a better morning/early afternoon showing than FC or ET.

Annoying players. Well, im not going to shout out a bunch of peoples names on the forums. But every server has their trolls/idiots. HoD is no exception.

Luckily for you many of them transferred to GoM not to long ago!

Hi, thanks for the reply. If we transfer to T8, we’ll probably end up on the server that needs the most help. I know were a small guild and wont make too much of a difference. That being said, I have a commander tag, and have enjoyed commanding for a couple of months now. So if there is a T8 server that has a shortage of commanders, that would be a consideration also. Thanks again for the info.

Come over to HoD! we have lost 5-6 commanders as we took our final tumble on our journey from T1 to T8 when GoM and NSP offered them dolyaks loaded with gold. We are a server which takes much pride in it’s small-team game and runs a moderate zerg (for the tier).

After our first week, I can say that T8 is awesome and the balanced 3-way struggle with alot more pitch-battles between smaller teams is very enjoyable. this week every server has been on top. there is one humungous zerg that runs like a ball around EB but I wont say whose (it aint ours!). I mostly do small-med team in BL so I dont see them too often.

T8 is a good choice for variety in a low-WvW-pop environment. The folks on the 3 servers get along well which comes with living side-by-side in GW2’s NA dumpster I guess. there is little doubt that after all the fair-weather friends are now gone, the folks on all the T8 servers are in it for the fun, the killing, and fighting along side those who have pride in their servers.

And none more than us over here in HoD! Come join us, we’d be happy to raise our swords and mugs with you guys.

regarding ET upgrading stuff: after 3 long months of SF, alot kinda got into the mindset of "why bother, it will be taken anyway." and now it’s set into habit. a habit we will have to break. i’ve been doing my part upgrading and prepping siege (in fact i woke up early this morning to do as many of the upgrades on hills as i could, due to my error last night) and i’ve been encouraging others to do the same

Yeah I get where you are coming from, which is why I said just try it for a few days and see if it makes a difference. And I have a lot of respect for you guys who had to deal with SF for so long, it was boring very quickly because morale got shot so easily and people panic easily when they see a sea of red. We had the same issue, too, we’d upgrade something and two hours later I’d log on and it was back to nothing as SF took it and we’d reclaimed it. From my standpoint the biggest difference between tier 8 and tier 7 is just defense and getting/keeping people to do that dull stuff like dolyak escorting, paying for defensive siege, and making sure upgrades go through. I’m sure many would disagree with me, however.

I think it’s also a matter of getting the word out that this is the new tier 8. I really feel this is the most balanced tier I’ve ever been in, and that makes for much more enjoyable time. Some of ALL of our players may come back to WvWvW once they realize they won’t be roflstomped every minute by 40 enemies from Sorrow’s Furnace.

Need a subsection to just talk about the small group fights, I feel out of place talking about small scale fights and duels.

Anyway starting to see solid Ferg players, I was just looking in the wrong spot. I tend to go where I can get the outmanned buff, when I went into battle grounds that give Ferg the outmanned buff I ran into the small group roamers. That would not run from 1 v 1s, good fights

ET has a Charr mesmer, guild tag FT I think it was. I like him, he is really fun to fight and plays really really well. Hats off to him.

to Davitlee if you’re coming to T8 to help a server out ET atm could use the help more than HoD sadly.

Thanks for being best competition weve seen in a couple months. I don’t know if you guys have checked out our thread to get small mans to tier8, but would be awesome to have your support to get some guilds here, so that what we did tonight could happen regularly in all BL’s without setting it up.

Ahahahaha That was a ton of fun, a bit of revenge for the 60 person zerg that was hitting us in Bay less than an hour ago. Only ET can have that many one hour, then be crying about being outnumbered the next.

HoD has been there more times than I can count on our spiral from T1 to T8. There was a time we didn’t even have enough morale/manpower to cap one single tower in our own borderlands. I believe we bumped into ET more than once on this devastating journey. Doesn’t mean at any point that you or anyone should ever give up though. Keep plugging at it, spend time training your guildies/server mates in defensive/offensive strategy, and you’ll get there in no time

i will order you a special tin foil hat, cross, complete with an armadillo shell liner.

I got at least 35 badges in something like 15 minutes.

Yeah we both got each other to about 30% health. But that was about it lol. Even though it was a never ending battle the practice is always fun.

Some killer fights against the combined [MEND] and [FKB] zerg last night. Tons of fun, and PILES of badges. I think I was actually giggling through the whole thing based on the weird looks I was getting from my gf…

Meh, we were outmanned 2 to 1, roughly, and during the 4 hours or so this was going on, we took two of your towers and you never took anything of ours that you kept for more than 10 minutes. Our lead went up by about 200 points over that time. I’d call it a loss on your part.

Good team functionality. Lots of group heals/regen and condi removal keeps us strong. But I will admit at times I do melt myself trying to nade groups with retal. Tis my worst enemy and I hates it, precious.

Regen + Regen when using kits (20 alchemy) makes for good passive healing.

to the [Mend] thief who was dueling this morning (around 8:30-8:40 Central) at south camp of ET BL: fun fights. thank you. i’m honestly surprised i managed to best you once... my guard is built more for zerg support and i’ve not had much practice or success with 1 on 1 fights so i appreciated the sparring. also, my mesmer server-mate apologizes for stepping too close to the camp near the end of their first duel. they lost track of where they were.

I think 300×3×5 for every nade throw would hurt more than passive regen but maybe we were dodging it or you weren’t hitting all of us. And we don’t run in the same area really.. Recerly we’ve been trying to ninja towers and keeps so we don’t roam as much, and sometimes we only get 2 players on at a time lol. I think today were gonna roam a bit more than normal.
