Acid Bath Babies Go Plop Plop [FizZ]
Arrow carts out range catapults!!!
Acid Bath Babies Go Plop Plop [FizZ]
One of our guys had his arrowcart heal allies^^
Pretty sure this was a bug, but it was nice of him to heal the entire group for 2,5k/s.
catapaults can use ballistics and shoot further than their range

With AC mastery = 3500 range
Catapult = 4000 range
You just need to build it near max range for it work. Basically requires smarter cata placement now.

3500 range to the center of the AC fire, you got to add the radius of the circle which is really big too.
This means that catapults are useless.

It’s 360 radius. Still technically not as far. :P
For those that dont remember or werent in beta, Arrow carts hurt a crap load last time than they did after their nerf.
Its just that arrow carts have been bumped up a tad too high. Especially since this game has no dedicated healers.
an arrow cart need only be built on a bump that is higher than the catapult and it will out range the catapult.
Now try putting an arrow cart on a wall and see if you can build a catapult that can hit the wall out of range of the ac… impossible to do in borderlands.
Basically the new ac buff makes rams and catapults useless.

One arrow cart in sunnyhill destroyed our three catapults that were built at max range… Seems like this is the direction Arena.Net wants to go with WvW.
That won’t convince us to spend gems in spvp, im just gonna switch to another game.
EDIT: We built an arrow cart on the side of the wall to destroy it.
We also capped bay by slowly building arrow carts, one by one, step by step, to destroy their 15 arrow carts they had built.

This is false. Arrow carts aren’t projectiles like catas are, so their range is not extended by height. It is only an issue if the cata is being used from a lesser height.
That being said, a slight range reduction might be good tuning to make other things relevant. But its good to see us evolving towards a place where strategy and effective siege is important.
I put points into Arrow Cart Mastery to test the extended range. In the towers in which I tested this, arrow carts do NOT outrange catapults. This includes arrow carts built at a height advantage relative to the catapult. For example, at Longview / Sunnyhill / Woodhaven tower, an arrow cart built on the roof near the vista is still unable to reach catapults built on the bluff to the north of the tower. Meanwhile, those same catapults can hit the North wall.
The new arrow carts and their associated mastery line are not OP; you just have to be cognizant of your siege ranges and placement is all. Practice, practice, practice.

Regular arrowcarts now do ~ 700-1000 dps, superior arrowcarts ~2100 as damage has been increased to up to +80% – with the range but they can hit almost as far as catas but not as far.. Put 10 sups in the tower and a 60 man zerg, and good luck trying to take that objective.

Agreed. I think they should just strap an arrow cart on everyone’s head. This way while we are waiting for unkillable NPCs to lose their buffs, we can just randomly shoot the arrow carts for fun.
So boring

Simple math, I have seen an arrowcard deal 3k damage (superior one).
But let’s be reasonable and take 2k damage as base.
Also let’s take 4 superior arrowcards per gate.
Take into consideration they deal damage up to 50 people.
So, 2k*4*50=400k damage per second or 100k damage per second per arrowcard.
Don’t think I have ever encountered something this overpowered in my entire gaming history.
