They dont let every GoM through trust me, tried jp multiple times a day for about a week and its always been camped.

Sorry, but we’ve not gotten any big transfers that I know of.

The guilds you see in that picture are just an odd assortment of mostly initiative (the server’s alliance, been around for a month or so) guilds that have been here for ages.

We’ve just been doing better because we’ve been coordinating more.

Finally got GoM borderlands back from both DH and HOD.

Don’t bank on it. All we have left are the stubborn ones who don’t like the idea of jumping ship like a kitten to a higher tier rather then fight your way back up. Most of the time when you call for help in LA you are met with silence, at best. Or mockery. Less and less I’m surprised when players and guilds leave every week. Were a number of ppl I used to defend our GoM border with, ain’t seen most of them in a while. Dun even know if they still on the server or left or quit. We keep trying….. but I have no faith in the majority of our pop. Those of you keeping on keeping on…. salutes See ya back in there next logon. Those of you who can’t be bothered yet like the world buffs our efforts net you….. doing a good job of wearing down my no server jumping resolve. But you ain’t got me there yet.

My guild is holding on, but mainly (I think) because most of us are just happy PvP’ing whether we win the over all war or not. I would personally enjoy it more if we were a community, but I really think that some of the ‘hardcore’ WvW guilds at launch soured alot of the server with their kitten antics towards other players on GoM.

Honestly, unless SbI and IoJ lost as many people as they claim, GoM is going to end up in tier 8 within a couple of weeks. We’ve been steadily losing guilds for months now, and there’s no sign of that changing before the free transfers cut off on the 28th. Hell, it’s actually gotten worse the last few days as more and more fair-weather guilds jump ship at the last minute before it costs money to switch.

we were not outnumbered by GoM – we were vastly outnumbered by DH – we held that garrison for what one tick before DH rofld our waffles

I’m feeling this way as well. Currently, DH has a significant numbers advantage over us and HoD has a less significant numbers advantage but a significant organization advantage. I am having trouble forcing myself into WvW based on what I saw midweek last week from our server, and I usually love to PvP.

I think most of the people who were commanders on GoM either transferred off or have given up by now.

For GoM people who are sticking true and remaining with their server, good job. I’ve been with HoD since the start and it was tough after the whole mass exodus. But it IS worth it. You’re losing quitters and whiners chiefly. I mean having exclusively good time guys and gals around does no one any good. And commanders giving up and transferring is the worst. That’s the opposite of how a commander should be.

HoD hasn’t had any big transfers that I KNOW of (not sure if that’s saying much though rofl). I do, however, recognize a lot of the guilds in that picture. I remember running with CV back when Titan’s Alliance still existed on HoD, for example.

In general I think we’re all looking forward to the 28th when guesting is an option and transfers are pay only. Mass exoduses will probably be a thing of the past. And we won’t have to deal with DH cheerleader trolls who invade our channels just to insult our server. Hurrah!

And yes Nodeninja, there’s a huge numbers advantage on DH’s side. I think they deserve to move up a tier and give 6 a run for their money. Plus, three weeks of the same match-up and we learn each others’ strategies too well. lol

What you are witnessing is the official launch of Darkhaven’s Alliance. We have not gotten any transfers of significant numbers, we’ve always had numbers, but the morale was shot to hell when a bunch of T2W guilds (Transfer to Win) left the server. I know both HoD and GoM have experienced what that does to WvW.

Regardless, Darkhaven has reformed an alliance composing of about 18 guilds total, we are more organized, and we have slowly but surely improving the morale on Darkhaven since launch, which in turn has brought in many WvW’ers that otherwise would not have played.

It’s not server transfers and being outmanned that is your problem, its these 18 guilds who coordinate together, control 90% of the commander tags, and understand that we can’t win without teamwork. That is why we’re doing so well.

Btw Darkhaven has no reason to “team-up” against either HoD or GoM. Why? I’m not trying to sound arrogant, but we don’t need to ally another server to secure a win. So stop the accusations, if you don’t believe me; go to WvW and press “B”. There is your proof.

On a side note I am also a member of [jade] and I am dam proud of my guild mates in that jumping puzzle with the golems!

This isn’t the first exodus that GoM has had to suffer through. We’ll be alright. We’ll simply find ways to do more with less and become better players for it in the long run.

We get what you guys are going through here. I know it’s going to sounds cliché, but your server will be stronger for it in the long run. The people who stick with you through the awful times are the ones you want to be playing with at the end of the day.

I’m sure he didn’t mean it that way Valenna. Were all just a bit happy that our ex-wvw players have decided to finally join us once again in WvW.

I can say for sure that the only “guild” transfers I have seen so far is the guild from SBI [INC] that has about 10ish players in it with Commander Bulldog. While not alot of players [INC] is a good guild and can cause substanstial havoc.

Also Darkhaven did get hit with a wave of New Players that don’t know anything about WvW and GW2 as a game. I have spent alot of time teaching people just how to get into WvW, what to do, where to go, and what the blue ‘dorrito’ is on the map.

Also to Bllades. Our alliance does great and is working extremely well but we can’t attribute all of the success to just us. There are many others that WvW and are not apart of us. Like Kryptic, while he hates our alliance and we have our fair share of problems with him I will give him one thing, he watches over our BL like a guard dog and he does good in there. Which gives us a chance to strike somewhere else.

ONE LAST THING! Can I get a score update? I have the 24 hour shift today…

If the only thing they took into account was Wv3 population I’d think you’d be right. The unfortunate part is that they’re probably going to take total population into account, and sadly GoM has a HUGE PvE population. We’re one of the few servers that’s still listed as Very High 24/7 even with the recent pop-cap increase.

You’d think that there’d be a way to get some of these PvE’ers out into Wv3 more consistently.

You are wrong, period. Not about your organization, but about having a numbers advantage and better coverage. I’m NOT begrudging you the organization or numbers and am actually more than a little jealous that you actually have a WvW alliance (as far as I know there are none on GoM.) I’m not even begrudging you your pride in griefing the jumping puzzle. It’s a PvP area and therefore griefing is a relative term (I fully support red is dead no matter where it happens.)

Yes you are showing organization, but without the bodies to organize you would be where GoM is now. I’m honestly not sure what the solution is, as we have plenty of PvE gamers on our server, but I think too many of our WvW population is satisfied with losing as long as they can roam around and get some fights.

SBI, has lost a large number of guilds to the T1 and T2 Servers along with Kaineng. We decided to move to a lower tier server to have fun on a more balanced server setting.

I can say for sure that the only “guild” transfers I have seen so far is the guild from SBI [INC] that has about 10ish players in it with Commander Bulldog. While not a lot of players [INC] is a good guild and can cause substantial havoc.

Slackers Incorporated [INC] has left some of our brothers and sisters on SBI for them to PvE and will guest there to do our PvE (when guesting hits). On DH, we are going to be WvWing a lot. We wanted to blend in with a new community and picked Darkhaven over our other 2 choices (Kaineng/Maguuma). We are a guild of 70+, but only have approx., 20+ that are active in WvW. I can say so far it has been a lot of fun in EB making some noise, especially last night when we got the inner door of HoD keep to 40% before being noticed. Dang them orange swords! I love trying to keep both GoM and HoD on their toes.

I wish all you guys the best of luck this week and stop camping the jp’s on all 3 servers. If you want to build your community, encourage more people to go there and collect the badges and blueprints. Maybe we can all persuade them to come out get them and commanders/w3er’s throw a little coinage their way for the blueprints if they don’t need them. If you want to build the community, give them an incentive to come. They might like it. That’s all for now, off to cause some havoc on the EB or a BL.

You want us to ask members in an alliance if before the alliance you guys would be winning? Isn’t that a bit of a biased opinion? I’m not trying to in any way berate DH’s alliance, but it has never ever set well with me that when a server is doing well, that server’s alliance pats themselves on the back first and foremost.

You know what happens when people aren’t independent-minded and can’t do the simple things like escort the occasional dolyak, throw some siege up and build it, etc.? Stuff falls apart. When big groups leave a map, and 3 people fend off 20-30 because of well-placed siege and a tower they upgraded and worked hard to keep safe… that’s impressive. Because that stuff is boring, slow, and costs coin before the action finally hits.

Not congratulating everyone for the success of your server (or just awarding them 10% of the success as the other 90%, as you put it is because of the alliance) and just giving all the due to an alliance seems very conceited indeed, not “being a realist.”

On the JP camping… I feel it’s fair game to kill enemies on JP, I don’t do it myself when I completed them until they came after me… but that’s some nice golems you had stand about to keep people from wasting like 30 minutes to an hour to gain a couple pieces of siege… I say let them waste that time. Most of us can raise the amount of gold to buy a guaranteed golem in that time out in PvE no problem. Let them waste their time in the JP I say. As difficult as that thing can be, and as many enemies battle it out to make it even harder, that’s a real time sap. So do I feel the golems were some grand strategic move? The golems were never called a grand strategic move nor was it meant to be any show of high tactics. That was literally a few people having fun and wanted to showcase it a bit. That is by all means fine with me, and as for the golems elsewhere we did use them elsewhere when we were done.

Yep. I’d been pretty much just roaming and flipping camps solo for the last few weeks since my gaming group only does dungeon runs now. I got the chance to run with RH a few times and had a blast. Good people, extremely well-coordinated, and always willing to take the fight straight to your doorstep no matter how outnumbered or behind on the scoreboard. As soon as they told me they were sticking with GoM after free transfers were over, it was a no-brainer for me.

I’ve noticed that several other freelancers I’d see on a daily basis have also recently joined up with other great guilds like [ASH] and [RISE]. I guess we’re all on the same wavelength that with many guilds leaving for greener pastures, we really need to stick with and strengthen the ones that stay. We don’t have a server-wide alliance or anything, but we’re definitely becoming more tightly-knit.

This is the tier where we match off in honorable combat and keep things classy on the forums. Second (and not really bragging – just pointing out), you guys didn’t win the most recent match, so I don’t think you are really looking at all of the “cold hard facts” when you make these kinds of statements.

DH will probably win this week, but I dont see anyone giving up any time soon (its not in our nature). The early lead is a little more significant than the one you had last week. I dont care if its because you got alot of transfers or if its because you are organizing better (either is a good thing). The only thing that matters is that we keep the fighting fun and discourse classy.
