I want to give a shout out to the GOM commander that brought a golem out to try and kill our catapult while we were assualting the SW tower on DH BL about 2:00AM EST. We couldn’t believe our eyes that you almost made it accross the bridge….That was awesome!

Our current T7 matchup is the best and I’m sooo looking forward to another week – huge thanks to DH and GoM

I wrote this for another forum but thought I would re-post here so the people from DH and GoM could enjoy – apologies to Clement Clarke Moore

’twas the night before reset and all through the map
not a creature was stirring not even a dolyak
The map was locked down by the Henge crew
In hopes that soon a victory would loom

A sole hero stood atop greenbriar’s broad tower walls
with sword at the ready in case the enemy did call
Yet no hint of Darkhaven nor GoM did appear
And all was still on the southern frontier

When south of the tower a lightning bolt flashed
The oil was damaged but where was the enemy at
Our Hero looked intently, determined to find
whatever culling had still hidden from eyes

And then, in a twinkling, what did appear
a huge quaggan zerg lead by a deer
with precision and haste several rams were constructed
the gates wouldn’t hold long, our hero had to do something

Jumping down from the highest point of the tower wall
the specially traited damage breaking the fall
Splat! the quaggans tumbled to the mighty falling blow
But for how long could our hero possibly hold

The quaggans recovered, focused on their task
The tower would be theirs and they resumed the attack
Our hero out numbered was ganked almost at once
As the gate shattered open, the quaggans had won

Our guild(RAVE) just move in to a big family of Darkhaven hope we can wvw more often we have about 15+more active players and 2 commander(gonna be 3 after a few weeks) i hope we can wvw together and kick those guys out from our borderland !

bleh, if it was 1 hour later i’d probably be able to participate. But I don’t get off work till about 4:30 pst time.

-My Concerns for fightclub this week-

I helped coordinated fight club on the HoD side when Kain offered to do fight club. I want to do fight club as much as the next guy and I might even be there for tomorrow but there are a few problems.

1. It’s a really close match, least between HoD and GoM. Are you guys willing to sacrifice men for fight club to have the possibility of losing what you have? I can’t guarantee my server will stop to do a fight club… We’re trying our best to win and we want you guys too. When Kain did fight club for us, it was a complete blowout, so some of the big guilds were able to join fight night rather then painfully try and retake our BL and our part of EB.

2. Communication between servers. I don’t know what GoM did but Kain’s [RE] let guest into their vent to communicate better. Some people wanted to fight specific people. I volunteered to join their vent and I was able to coordinate everyone on my server who went to this event. It was great. If someone interfered with a fight and they don’t listen to the coordinator, then we tell the other server to kill them.

Me and Kreese are trying to work out a way for others from GoM and DH to join us on a team-speak program to make things go easier. Unless you guys have one for me to join and I’ll be the representative for HoD.

Point being, you probably won’t see much HoD tonight at fight night. Since we might be stuck together for the next few weeks, feel free to add and pm me to help make fight night happen.

Perhaps we could plan for a different day? Thursdays are bad during close match-ups. Maybe something like a Sunday or Monday night would be better since the weekend rush will be dwindling at that time anyway.

Fight-Club should be on for several hours. It starts at 7PM East, but if you arrive anywhere between 7PM to 10PM East, you should see plenty of fights!

As for the concern:
ALL the upcoming matches between DH, HoD and GoM will be tight. That doesn’t mean we can’t take a break to enjoy Fightclub once a week.

I don’t mind if people try to steam-roll the map nobody is there, because we’re all at Fight-Club. Gratz to these people, they will be remembered as good at ‘Player vs Undefended Door’ I guess. And the scores are so tight, few hours won’t make a difference, we’ll fight each other again for weeks to come.

Anyone who’d like good fights, come to Fightclub on GoM Borderlands, south of Champion’s Demense. 7PM East until… very late :-)

I’m just letting you know. Since this is the last week before transfers end. We’re trying our hardest to win at the moment. We had a plan and we’re sticking to it. Like I said, you won’t find much HoD there or at all, another week would be better.

I say cancel it.. but I am biased and would rather WvW than fight club. I totally sat out the last fight club to WvW, haha.

I’m unfortunately going to be away for fight club tonight as well. There’s a hockey game that I must watch. Perhaps next week (since we’ll be together again).

It’s probably the “sh .7” in your name triggering the obscenity filter. It’s really picky with letter/number combinations and probably mistaking that part for the other 4-letter word that starts with SH.

Guess you should just probably change your account name to Tossed Fikitten so people recognize you.

I am on DH, and seem to be the only one in my guild logging in anymore, though I am very elusive with me d/d ele.

Hehe, I edited to add more info. I wouldnt worry too much about it, I am kidding! I do look for myself in screenies though. There really isnt anything I can do beyond actually organizing a picture, lol. And where would the fun be in that?

My main is Tuluumen, though I have several other characters at 80. I am on DH and have enjoyed this match up tremendously. I wont claim to be particularly great as a player, but hope I have given some of you a run for your money. I sure have learned a lot.

The Norn Guardian [LK] tagged with Sorrow’s Embrace armor from HoD, will not be participating. I think I earned my stripes last fight club we had against both Kaineng and GoM.

Plus, I’m not down with the whole “no-staking” rule. Some classes are better at staking, some are better at avoiding said stake.

I’ll henceforth be known as the good “Player vs Undefended Door” until the next fight club I guess. Scores between GoM and HoD are too close at the moment for me to care much about dueling the occasional good player.

EDIT: We’ve been red for going on 4 weeks now. I want to have KRAGtop in my servers borderlands before the end of this year.

I will be late b/c of work too but my guild plans on attending the fight.

I want to roll with this screenshot thing. We should have screenshot scavenger hunts.

For example… a shot that has:

1) me in it (tricky for non-DHers, but that much better if it does)
2) at least one dead player
3) meteor shower visible somewhere in the photo
4) someone emoting (dance/kneel/lie down…etc.)

…something like that.

Of course having me is a bit unfair because I’m not on 24/7… so we could do something like 1) contains every profession. Would be fun “Where’s Waldoing” in all the screenshots though.

So yeah. If anybody would like to try it, throw out suggestions please for something that wouldn’t break the bank but still be an incentive to start taking screenies!

To the GoM d/d ele at golanta a little bit ago, you’re a champion. 5-6 of us and you were still taking us down. It’s nice to face off against someone of your caliber and know there is still room for improvement thanks for the fun fight!

As much as we love how close our current match-up is, there’s little to no community in T8 and the competitive vibe went out the window when Devona’s Rest and Kaineng zerged their way up the ladder. As unbalanced as those weeks were, we at least had competitive groups we knew we could count on going up against every night.

Rising up the tiers doesn’t really concern us. We’ve witnessed how unbalanced and lopsided some of these match-ups can get, so we’re quite content on hanging around the more balanced lower tiers. What we really want is to find an active community and hopefully a server in this tier that could use a small guild like us. We have about 15 active members and all of us are DAoC vets who prefer roaming in small groups.

What has the balance been like in this tier, and are any of these servers likely to fall or rise out of this tier soon? We’re looking at possibly Darkhaven, or one of the T6 servers.

I’d love it if someone wouldn’t mind PM’ing me some details so we can decide if we want to come here.

For community, my guess is it’s Henge of Denravi (they have an active forum and everything) > Darkhaven > Gates of Madness.

The tier above us has more people and the three guilds there each have alliances (and some of the fun to read drama that goes with that).

If Darkhaven gets more people, I expect them to move out of the tier. The matches were close two weeks ago and they’ve gotten people since.

Kaineng talked a bunch about how great you guys are, so thank you for considering our tier.

QFT. Last week was awesome. This week, while still awesome, DH definitely has a bit more numbers from what I’ve seen. I’m still having a fun when I go in, but it doesn’t feel as balanced which I find to be unfortunate and not quite as fun as last week.

More numbers on DH will tip the scales a little more that direction, and I fear we might lose an excellent matchup in this tier eventually. Hopefully we can keep things close enough to keep this matchup going in the coming weeks, because this is the most fun I’ve had in WvW ever.

Unfotunately, I’m afraid even if we keep things close we may lose this matchup anyway due to the apparent defections in the top tiers and servers freefalling and disrupting our nice balance. But who knows, maybe if someone drops down here they might bring more fun. But I will still be sad to see this matchup go.

EDIT: GoM, please kindly relinquish Askalion Hills in your BL. I need it and the vista to 100% WvW. I swear I’ll give it back when I’m done… maybe…

It was a first for a lot of players and there was a bit of confusion.
Fortunately, most people from all servers behaved like real gents, and I am grateful for that.
The rare trouble-makers were swiftly dealt with.

Special thanks to the DH and HoD who helped me start the event and went to all theirs BLs and LA to shout it was starting.
