Indeed, the variation / deveation is just too wide. Anet might as well remove the fee for transferring to higher tier server since it does apparently not matter anymore in which tier you play. Hope they reduce the variation within a maximum of 1 tier.

Fee’s not there for WvW; it’s there for the overall population. Therefore, encouraging transfers to servers with less players overall.

Tatics can only compensate for lower numbers and coverage gaps (as you say) for so long. Tatics that work for a large population will not nessissary work for a smaller one.

In the long term nothing compensates for numbers. Numbers are easier to turn out if you win and you can only really win in the long term, with large numbers.

There is such a thing as morale and repeated steamrolling crushes it.

You just have to get a concentrated effort for your server’s community to persevere. Just play to have fun, not necessarily to win, and you’ll be better off for it. Although winning is fun, I just like to think of it as a bonus, lol.

I hardly think a server who can turn the entirety of EBG green on reset night is in danger of getting “crushed.” Typically it’s a challenge to take even a single tower on reset night.

The infamous Abbadon’s Mouth (don’t even remember tier, soz) zergs are getting crushed by the organised groups of Augury and Baruch (both t3)

Edit: Though, right after i wrote this, our overconfidence got us killed. My point still stands though

So why were they in T7 then If they are so awsome? You do not end up there unless you loose consistantly over the long term. Long term perfomance is a better indicator of ability than an hour of play.

One hour of success only says they can field allot of people during that time. It is not enough to show coverage especially during the normal business hours and sleep time. You need those to win too generally.

oh i am having fun, reset just happened and we now have 3 supply camps left to defend or whatever it is we will be able to do there.

It is not so much winning as getting completely stomped over and over that will kill the fun.

Why not (intended !) 4 different matches on your different maps!
You can choose your difficulty by choosing the map, and hey
when you are underpopulated: leave the most difficult map(s) out and play on the easier ones!

If you get hit with the RNG stick, just pick one supply camp, ring it with siege and troll all night.
On SoS we did this when we lost most of our people and were severely outmanned on night. So many badges and so much fun!
