Hey there. Well that topic speak of itself, we have been suffering cause of only 1 guy and even if we ignored it doesn’t help we cant manage to stop fights in map or team chats with him. He is in ET server just to do that from what I heard and I have screen shots and ET players know him too. Reporting didn’t work and I don’t know if I am allowed to post his name or the screenshots with his name BUT its really not letting us enjoy WvWvW in ET in a very irritating way.

He have been trolling every commander in map chat, literally everyone of them plus the players!

Anything can be done about this?!

Report him to Anet, stick him on your ignore list and tell others to do the same. Posting his name or something showing his name will get your post removed, so don’t do that. Really there isnt much else you can do.

We tried that, it have been over a week now, the problem is you cant get every single person to ignore him so the map/team chat are being used to feed him mostly. Which make things harder ( someone yelling ???? under attack ) < no one notices this……..

Yeah I feel sorry for you, feeding the trolls just makes them worse – hopefully the ban goes through sooner rather than later and you can get back to efficient chat use. On a different note, does he use /m or /t? You could try using whichever he doesn’t to coordinate attacks and leave the troll on the other. Commander squads will also help here, if you can get the pugs to join the squad easily. All your commanders using a party chat would help them to coordinate with each other, and they can pass commands on through /s.

I think he uses whichever is best to troll cause as I mentioned earlier he isn’t there to play and enjoy WvW, he is just their to do that as I heard from our people. But yeah until he gets banned or just grow up we can’t help it but I hope new players don’t hate WvW cause of him cause we all know GW2 community is a special one, seeing what he does and how many fights he fires will change the whole idea for new comers.

I know exactly who you are talking about and I as well hope he gets removed/banned from our server soon, he harasses anyone on map chat and he allowed a port bomb from GoM to Happen as well, we had about 40 people from our guild report him I just hope something is done soon

Well not going to post for now. Indeed that’s what we have been doing but the problem is each 5 mins someone who just got into WvW is caught in that trolling circle again.

I hope at least that Anet track that guy who got I’d say 50+ reports so far and deal with him for good.

That is such a sad story. My heart goes out to you and your server. I am going to rally my server together to see if we can help you out in some small way. Btw.. did you trying crying about it? Sometimes that does help. If not, GOM will try to send you a support package to get through this difficult time friend.

Never underestimate the power of positivity! Flip his negative with a positive .. it boosts morale for your server and frustrates the troll.

Another way to drown him out is to start doing wvw tips in /map chat … asking others to chime in and add what they know. It educates your map for those new to WvW and drowns out the troll. Win-win.

For example someone asked if he should order the next upgrade in SM while we had 0 supplies, I said wait till supplies build up to 700 cause we were having bad times and expecting an attack 700 would’ve been perfect cause we will see till that time if they are going to attempt to take stonemist or not and if it happened we have 700 supplies to use . What he did is he ignored the whole thing and trolled the 700 part cause its a random number and kept trying to annoy me which he does with each person in ET. Whenever a commander steps he says " you are as bad as the 10 commanders who commanded before you." and keeps going on and on and on it never ends it is what he is here for that’s his job. Everyone in ET is irritated and we keep reporting.

I know it looks like a subject that is not THAT important cause there will be trolls everywhere BUT what should we do if someone took it as his main role? we all know its hard to stop fights in map chats if there was someone trolling the map chat will just be fired up and heated and as I mentioned its BAD for new comers who wanted to try WvW and something needs to be done about such behaviors.

As I said … the minute this guy starts talking, take control of the conversation by diverting it into something else. Don’t give him a chance to gain attention … it’s the “look! shiny object!” approach … that takes the attention away from the troll and puts focus on something positive instead. Give folks something else to talk about, besides what this guy is saying .. and then send a whisper to the guy asking the question about upgrades.

You can stop fights simply by giving folks something else to talk about, something key to your mission as a server, or even doing the /map wvw tips. Drown him out by not acknowledging anything he’s saying and instead talking over him about stuff that’s more important. The minute you acknowledge a troll, even by telling others to ignore him, his goal is complete. If you simply just ignore anything he says, and pretend like he’s not even there, talk over him, he loses power.

We have a nauseating hour of “go TC!” any time we get a guy like that on map. Everyone, almost on cue, pipes up about what they like best about TC and soon this troll’s words are lost in a sea of what makes us a fun and happy server. It works. Trust me.

Then let them. People love being trolled and arguing and if they aren’t mature enough to ignore it then imo people are simply allowing him to thrive. So all you can do is compile screen shots of his trolling (with his name and account name using the report feature) and submit a ticket.

just use the tips giving to us by the people in this thread and that should stop the troll, all we need to keep doing is reporting the person as he is in violation of CoC.

I reported that guy, he was being very racist towards… well pretty much every minority in map chat… simply amazed he isn’t banned yet

All you can do is block him. Some people don’t get enough attention from their parents etc and tend to act out. There is not much we can do except block him and hope customer support knocks ’em out of the game…not much use getting upset over people like that.

Honestly though, he’s the first troll I’ve seen in a while (and one of the worst with his slurs) otherwise ET is the greatest server I’ve ever been on in terms of how friendly the players are – this guy is a recent xfer because I recognized him from my time spent on kaineng (although he wasn’t as bad there).

I don’t know why (troll) hasn’t been banned yet. I finally just reported him and /ignored him, but I hate seeing how much the people who don’t know the /ignore command are being split up among themselves by the troll. I, for one, hate the dissension in our ranks by somebody who’s clearly on ET just to annoy people, complain about virtually every thing that the commanders do, and throw out insults left and right.

The troll is certainly not the type to just give up quite so easily, and one of the things he does, if he can’t manage to insult the entire server, is just insult one or two people in particular. It really bugs me, and I feel sorry for whoever the troll suddenly decides to just rant on about for no good reason.

Does he say “mouth breather” a lot? That may be the same guy we had back in December on TC. He was kind of not nice. However, I think the majority ignored him and he went BG.. and then he went to FA. He can’t seem to find a home. It’s actually a little bit sad.

Well honestly if he just came at me I would’ve just ignored him but what bothered me is, he is picking and getting into our commanders. As I recall he did the same thing to you by calling you CryingKnight and he was doing the same with KWBH commanders and other ET commanders, actually, all of ET commander.

Thanks for the help Jayne. But, come to think of it, if that guy moves from server to server, doesn’t that mean he will move after the whole server ignore him? It’s like even if we get rid of him he will move to another server and do the same!

I know it’s only one person and people will be like " oh come on " but it is actually annoying and if he moved to another server he will just be a burden there. So, the point is I think too many people reported him in each server if he moved a lot, why is he not banned yet? If Anet started to look in that problem and a guy got, lets say, 100+ reports (I believe he have more) and he gets banned, that may show some “trolls” that Anet are looking after them. Cause when we mentioned that we will report him he just said " Do it 700 times " < cause of my 700 supplies thingy ……

He is in EB most of the time. He is usually on around daily reset time or after 5-7 hours from now.

If all goes well, within a couple weeks people will get used to it, wise up, and stop giving him the attention he craves. Maguuma used to have a pest problem but eventually people just completely ignored him, mocked him on voice comms, and went about our day.

If you want to get rid of a troll you just ignore him. Posts like these just made his day, he loves this stuff. Any attention he gets is a win for him.

apparently he’s decided to change from verbal taunting because 99% of the server has him on ignore now.... and has moved up to trolling of a much more concrete and detrimental fashion... recently he spent quite a bit of time trebbing Stonemist castle, even tho it was, at the time, heavily fortified and defended, and we had nowhere near enough people to make an attempt at rushing it even when/if the wall came down. the active commander asked /map several times to stop trebbing stonemist.. the continued treb fire had ferg up in our faces trying to defend (against an attack that wasn’t ever actually coming) and we ended up losing stuff because HoD started pushing too.

these are the actions of ONE PERSON... one who should, in my opinion, be banned for harassment now. he’s moved beyond petty verbal trolling and attempted bullying.

I can vouch for this. He goes out of his way to lure enemies to ET lands, even during times when we are Outmanned and would much rather keep out of the way or stay on the defensive. Things like gateknocking to get crossed swords, get spotted as an ET, and lure a retaliatory strike on our home territories. Or hit morale-sensitive targets like Keeps and/or SM with siege weapons and bring a zerg in unnecessarily.

That is, on top of the other troll things he does. He hasn’t yet built rams in keeps or towers yet, but I don’t think it’d be that far off when he starts draining supplies at camps by building ballistas behind pillars.

What I’m not entirely sure about is how this guy is getting away with the huge volume of reports that have been sent.

@katz, I was the active commander at the time along with Shanks. We both told in /t and /m for whoever was on the treb to get off. Failing that, we asked for whoever built the treb to seize control of it and afk to stop it from firing. But that doesn’t quite work when -he- built the treb…

my recommendation: the moment he starts his crap... report him. the more reports the better. squeaky wheel gets the grease, and enough reports mount up against him, action will eventually get taken.

downside to that, i’ll have to take him off my ignore list so i can see if he’s being a troll so i can report him. >.>

But he’s not a troll. Its actually much worse. He has a 40 minute video of him actually believing what he’s saying in game. Just Youtube his username and you’ll see.

Sounds like you guys on ET have a real problem. Hope Jayne or somebody can figure something out. I know not too long ago, we had a troll in our TS, while we were trying to run WvW operations. We ended up switching to a private channel. Also, one of our better cmmdrs responded to two trolls in LA and got banned for 3 days. So, yeah, I feel for ya, Roosta and your boys.
