So last night around 2am gmt+1 I was doing the jumping puzzle in Eternal Battlegrounds. At a certain point is a MS Invader (Miller’s Sound) jumping so I decide to watch him and luckily he falls down. So I take up my shield, rifle and sword and go face him!
After certainly 15 minutes of trying to kill each other without one of us running away he finally kills me. And unexpectedly, he kneels down at my corpse and then bows.
This really touched me! I would very much like to express my gratitude to the MS Guardian who showed me the respect of having lost in such a great duel. And if you, great and skilled Guardian should ever read this, I hope we meet again and that I can settle the score to 1-1!
Secretly I hope you’ll read this and comment here so I can add you to my friend’s list for a future duel!

I always /cry /bow and /salute after a decent 1v1 (even during zergs). Without your opponent putting up a good fight, WvW would be very boring. Sometimes you lose, sometimes you win.
I hate people who /laugh at the dead bodies.

I have not noticed a /laugh but indeed, that would be sad. That reminds me too much of World of Warcraft lol… Usually I’d be AAAAAARGH after losing, but this time, I was really moved by the behaviour of the oponent.

I only use /laugh, but on two occasions
One, when people think they can gank me and then die
Or when they start using every move in their arsenal to run away only to be caught by a guardian of all classes.
Never have I bowed. Then again, I have never had an honorable fight. Everyone either cowers away or hides behind a guard.

Reminds me of the good old days of daoc. /dance on the bodies is more fun.

I like to /dance behind my Wall of Reflection, pisses the enemy even more which gets me more kills

only to be caught by a guardian of all classes.
What’s wrong with a guardian?

Because we’re the “hurdur bunker support class that can take damage but never dish it out” class.

At ~3200 WvW kills and 830 Badges I tend to disagree. GS/Hammer here. And I don’t zerg much either.

Yeah, my cousin plays a Guardian in WvW and he is BRUTAL. Seems to do very good damage, and is nigh indestructible.

Dat Post!
I’ll give you a tip. you can right-click the targets and use the Report option and it will open up a ticket window where you can see the players account name, then simply add him to your friendlist. (of course you shouldn’t send the ticket unless he was cheating or w/e)
Greetz from Miller’s Sound.

I agree it’s nice when you have a honorable opponent. I found a lot of them on SoR this match up with them, where we would bow before/after the match. Sometimes not even killing the opponent and moving on to the next match/target.
My favorite fight was with a warrior and it seemed surprisingly long for a warrior fight(me being axe glass cannon). Sad thing was, the fight was interrupted twice by some low level thieves that were easily killed/scared off by that warrior and the veteran guards that were guarding the nearby keep. For my part, I stopped fighting as soon as the extra party member joined the fight, I just let them die or fight alone…I guess thats makes me a jerk on my part. they probobly seen me fighting and just wanted to help since we were/are totally losing on that borderland at the time; I feel bad about that. Guess I was just angry at that point because the great match was interrupted.
Anyways, long story short, after the second interruption, he bowed to me (I guess it was because I didn’t gang-beat him) and I bowed back and we walked our seperate ways. Him to where he was going and me to ganking waypoints. So the point of this story is to thank Jasta on the tip, I totally didn’t think about that. Now I can say thanks for the fight in person instead of just a bow/wave/kneel.
Edit: He might have been a guardian, had several good duals that night. Would explain the extra long fight…
