I’ve been enjoying TC – they are a very competent and great community (they aren’t super strange like most games’ RP communities). I am enjoying this matchup a lot. Overall, aside from the times I ran with HzH on JQ, I am enjoying tier 2 more than tier 1. Being on my guild’s server helps a lot with that too, even if we don’t wvw all that often.

I’m the opposite. I came from TC to JQ a couple months back. I thought the RPers were funny but just too many of them for me They do have a respectful community.

I think JQ has an awesome community and quite frankly a (usually) very friendly WvW atmosphere. The commanders, for the most part, are top notch.

The commanders on JQ are great, but I usually ended up playing when the HzH commanders were online so that’s why I rolled with them the most. HzH is nostalgic for me since I remember them from GW1. That being said, I ran into a great commander on FA the other night and had a really good time going around with him and his guild. FA was always my secondary choice at launch, but the guild I was in on JQ that consisted of friends from previous games, including GW1, went inactive, and so I moved over to hang with my other guild of friends that I’ve also known for a while.

Overall, I think JQ and FA have stellar communities. Now if only we could get a classic matchup of siege turtles vs juggernauts going. Lol.

Omg, so terrible. I played both sides when imperial faction came out (before that, primarily played Kurzick). The worst was Jade Quarry where both the turtles and juggernauts would get stuck! Aspenwood was such a fun map though. So much crap talking, it was hilarious.

The question needs to be asked, “Is JQ truly a North American server?”

Maybe WvW needs to be restricted to say 6:00 a.m. – midnight Pacific.

That’s 18 hours of potential game play and 6 hours to rest.

If this is inconvenient for players outside the North American time zones, then their own regional servers would be available.

They have probably finally realised what SoS have been dealing with the last couple of weeks. You can’t beat a server when they have 10x the players on the field during most the day. If it wasn’t for our strong oceanic presence that gap between 1st and 2nd would look silly.

I think JQ overestimated how many guilds they needed to bring in to keep the games interesting, now they are fat and bloated. The end result will drive pugs away in the other servers because they will be outnumbered and find getting stomped by the JQ zergs frustrating. Only EB will retain numbers.

As of now I would rather have a BG, SoR, SoS battle. A good match that would be close.

I find it hilarious that SOS complains so much about JQs coverage now and calls it unfair and whatnot, when just 3 weeks ago SOS had JQ outmanned on just about every map everyday and didn’t see a problem with it.

EDIT: But seriously, T1 is mostly about coverage, and active WvW populations. Most of the JQ pugs dont even get on the servers teamspeak and are uncoordinated and bad. But at least theyve almost stopped always turning tail and running away the moment the enemy zerg is in front of them. I especially liked yesterday when the JQ pugs pushed TSym off the SOR BL map and their commander stopped streaming because we kept wiping them.

This is FAR from what happened this week. There were tons of 3 ways fights going on all over the place especially during the weekend.

If you want me to go find the posts from your fellow JQ’s talking about how great it was to have true three way fights in the tier in this thread I can. Don’t try to pretend like you were 2v1’d all week because everyone knows it’s not true except you apparently.

I would just like to say great job to JQ for quickly making up the deficit during the week. Your server has always had great tactics! Even when you are outmanned you play great! I am originally from SBI and I knew that you would come back after the weekend. We will continue to try and play our best, but hats off to you.

I would just like to say this is the closest match up in real 3 server terms that I think we have all experienced and its been a lot of fun for me and from this recent batch of posts it feels like others have found the same. Last night there was still only 10K between all three servers. Today the gap is a bit wider by hey, its Thursday and only 24 hours left so I guess you kinda expect that at some point. I was hoping it would stay really tight all the way to the end but maybe not. We can still all have alot of fun though right?

I spent my time on EB last night and what really struck me this match up when I thought back over the days and made me realise out tight this match up actually had been was how many times SM had been flipped during the week. Several times during a 24 hour period regularly. I remember SoR geeting a WP once and maybe SoS did but i dont think I saw one from JQ in my play time anyway.

I know JQ has better coverage and a wider player base at present, we all know that to be true if we are honest with ourselves but both SoS and SoR have fought really hard this week and I never felt safe at all in the last few days and I am really proud to have been part of such a great match up. We have had some real McCoys in the last few weeks and I did wonder if this week would be as good and it has surpassed my expectations. You might think this has been easy for us but both servers pushed us very hard and we had to really maximise points when we were strong and hold on by our fingernails when we were not. There have been plenty of times in the last 6 days when we have been ticking last. The score evolution chart on millenium really shows this http://mos.millenium...ervers/view/29/ its only in the last 36 hours we started to slowly pull ahead.

2v1 is too hard for us “If it’s red, it’s dead” fans.

obvious troll sounds even more worried.

JQ again showing what has made us to be T1 server. resilience, we havent dropped out yet and we are not going to start now, we are just going to happily claim your keeps, towers etc.

but really a server gives up because they suddenly lose when they are with such a history in Tier 1. sounds like there is more going on behind the scenes in SoS, either way, i have no problems taking more and more bags from you guys.
even when standing infront of SM with another ranger beside me under constant arrow cart fire we killed 10 ppl over the course of 30 min. most of them from [Choo] that was fun.

I’ll admit both SoS and SoR need more late SEA/EU coverage to compete with JQueue. Weekdays showed us JQueue has full 24/7 coverage.

BG/SoS/SoR is the ideal matchup imo. BG being more EU heavy, SoS more Oceanic heavy, and SoR more NA heavy. Coverage caps for all 3 servers unlike JQueue.

SoR does not cooperate with other servers. If your name is red, you’re a target, that’s it.

That is not to say we do not take advantage of situations and make tactical decisions not to engage one group over the other.

Well, as much as everybody says it’s WvWvW, there was never any express nor implicit rule that you cannot 2W v W.

Alliances can be made and broken all the time on the battlefield. Today’s enemies are tomorrow’s friends.

So what if 2 servers decide to team up and oust the 1st? I don’t see anything wrong with that.

Well put good sir. But I would say they aren’t mutually inclusive either. Some actions are obvious in nature, while others require a bit of thought and reflection. It’s those grey areas that are hard to decide on. And I don’t exactly think that whatever the devs choose to ignore or take action on is the be-all and end-all of what is considered fair-play. Some are just blatent.

For instance, managing to pull a lord completely out of a tower(like at the Woodhaven tower on blue map) from outside of it should be obviously wrong to everyone, regardless of whether or not the devs have addressed it. You shouldn’t need someone else to tell you that. Other things, like a thief’s stealth-spike, are not so cut and dry and require debate and discussion.

Using your brain to win is supposed to be what you do, but intelligence without wisdom is folly.

I don’t know if anyone here ever played Shaiya, but both factions had a running agreement in one of their PvP maps to not use any consumables from the auction house whenever they were in the zone. The reason was because those consumables could only be bought with cash online, so basically it was a pay-to-win scenario. For well over 2 years we managed to keep those pots(potions) banned from the zone, and anyone that used them would be shunned. Why? Because it made PvP into what it was supposed to be: a game of skill, and not of some artificial advantage.

What was hilarious about it was the game company actually tried to get us to stop doing this because they were losing a bit of money over it. Eventually they found other ways to overcome this with gear bonuses purchased online that you couldn’t see in-game. But it was great while it lasted.

So what if 2 servers decide to team up and oust the 1st? I don’t see anything wrong with that.

Not against the rules, but can you imagine the crying, the weeping, the gnashing of teeth that would occur! I mean, that practically already happens now, just imagine if two servers ACTUALLY DID do it. I predict many horrible things like dead baby quaggans lying everywhere. Not sure how it will happen, but no one wants that…
