Are you really complaining about SoR fighting you? Let me clue you in, we don’t just fight you, we fight JQ as well. In fact, we spent most of our time last night in JQ fighting JQ. We would have been able to do a better job of it if SoS hadn’t kept interfering and forcing us to pull off of our garrison attempts.

I remeber SoR BL we treb JQ Hills from stargrove… Everything is going good. here come SoS Kills us and destroys our trebs. Don’t know what tactical advantage that gave SoS. On our BL hitting JQ. Interfering with us. That is playing for second. Sure its a 3 way fight. Not QQ here just making example of counter productiveness of SoS.

Yeah I don’t even care what they do. I just find the crying and complaining hypocritical given the reality of what happens. I guess people can’t see the big picture and understand what is going on in the entire battle field.

That’s just a diversion from the larger issue that populations from different regions, which by virtue of there being servers divided into two regions Anet acknowledges, need to be better balanced across all the servers in the region, just like Anet doesn’t allow all the North American players on just one or two servers.

I don’t know who you are and I don’t care, but could you please stop posting about this? The only thing you are accomplishing is making our server look like a bunch of tools.

I couldn’t agree more, this last week was filled with some of the most epic (on a grand scale) battles i’ve been in, in a loooong time. Props to Anet, SoS and SoR.

SOR dealt with superior BG and SoS coverage in tier 2 for 3 months straight.

Maybe you need to revise your time horizon.

For instance, managing to pull a lord completely out of a tower(like at the Woodhaven tower on blue map) from outside of it should be obviously wrong to everyone, regardless of whether or not the devs have addressed it. You shouldn’t need someone else to tell you that. Other things, like a thief’s stealth-spike, are not so cut and dry and require debate and discussion.

Pulling a lord out of a tower is legit because you still have to stand in the circle of the tower — that is the primary kittenblock to taking the tower anyways.

I wouldn’t bat an eyelash at a lord pull. The game’s still on and it makes Woodhaven a more unique battle. Annoying on the receiving end, sure, but there are plenty of annoying things in the game.

Thief CND Mug BS combo is imbalanced from an overarching combat design perspective, but I wouldn’t fault any individual player for using it. Repeat stealth + culling is asinine from the engine perspective and again I wouldn’t fault any player for abusing it.

Back when orbs of power existed, repairing the altars with PvE Karma consumables was also the height of cheese, but perfectly legit. Shrug.

Very fun week SOS and JQ, thank you for the great epic battles and it’s my hopes we face off again soon… /bow

With the advertised perception of SoS having 24/7 coverage and 2nd place at the time during the announcement for the end of transfers, JQueue is in good standing and won their recruitment campaign.

Pvdoor happens almost everyday during SEA timezone and JQueue is flipping everything a lot faster with the new SEA transfers. 520 PPT at one point!

Simple answer. As I’ve noticed in the past that you do, I’ll continue to speak my mind when I believe it is merited. It’s how we hope to bring improvement to the game.

Well said. But I don’t think issues of what bugs or design issues should be banned is as gray as you do. There are three very clear, very good criteria for what should be banned.

Bugs or design issues that crash the game. Obviously these should be forbidden from use, otherwise people would crash the game whenever they’re losing and force a draw.

Bugs or design issues that are not accessible to all players. I don’t mean like Ele’s using a certain bug that Thieves can’t. I mean like a consumable that is only available if the email on your account starts with a 3. Or in some fighting games there are bugs that only 2nd player can use that 1st player can’t, even if they choose the same character.

Bugs or design issues that reduce gameplay down to that thing exclusively. Neither of the examples you gave (thief burst and pulling lords out) fulfill this criteria.

In the case of thieves, while there are lots of them, neither wuvwuv nor sPvP have been reduced to teams or zergs of thieves. Thief burst actually helped me to improve my play. I used to run around in glass cannon gear, until thieves destroyed me in seconds. Now my build has a healthy amount of toughness and defensive traits, and thieves aren’t much of a problem anymore. Being forced to find a way to survive against them caused me to take my play to the next level. That’s not reducing gameplay at all. Even with thieves around GW2 is still a pretty good game.

I would say that pulling a lord out of a tower is less clear than the thief burst, actually. This is the first time I’ve heard of this, by the way. It seems to me that pulling the lord out of the tower doesn’t really remove any gameplay. The attacking team still has to break into the tower and stand in the circle while fighting the defenders. The only difference is they found a way to kill the Lord more safely. Kind of like how in a fighting game, canceling one move into another can allow you to perform it more safely. And lord-pulling might not even be more safe since if I was defending that tower and saw that happen, I’d wait for them to break in then go revive the Lord while they were fighting the rest of the defenders inside. Which means that they’d need to leave a few people to guard the corpse. Interesting strategic situation! It seems to me that this situation actually creates some gameplay. I expect that it will be patched in time, but for now I don’t think it’s worthy of banning.

No, you bring improvement to the game by posting in the general threads about specific issues. Making the complaints you are in a matchup specific thread is simply just a whine and doesn’t have your intended affect. That all I am trying to tell you.

For anyone who’s curious…

CNY = Chinese New Year

It’s basically around 3-5 days ( let’s just say entire week ) event somewhat different than western New Year. It “should” start … well it actually started already, but the actually big stuff doesn’t start for another 2 days on the 3rd day. Also, because it’s longer than western New Years, chances are there are quite a few people who are going on trips and extended leave.

That being said, let’s hope for a good match next week!

The Blizzard should hopefully bring out the JQ PvPers this weekend. :P

There have been some great fights this week. At different times each server has taken a bit of a rest and scores moved accordingly. This is not a bad thing as we all want WvWvW to continue and managing player/commander burn out is important.

Great work SoR, excellent week in T1! You held your No 2 rating position and very nearly grabbed the weekly silver medal. Thank you for the great battles.

Good work as usual JQ, congrats on winning the weekly gold medal. While there are many fine JQ guilds FOO is always impressive!
