Few ideas to improve WvWvW's enjoyment
I agree with:
- Fix invisible armies
- Remove AOE damage through gates
- Show guild tag on claimed structures
- Fix queues
- The guild owing a tower or a keep can:
disable/enable supplies pickup for non guild members, or
set a minimum amount of supplies that cannot be picked up
I disagree with:
- Alliances support & chat
- Improve outmanned buff. atm it’s useless.
- Siege weapons can damage friendly structures
- AOE Friendly Fire
Friendly fire would be abused by kittens that want the other server to win or just to troll people.
Direct support of cross-server alliances just doesn’t feel right to me. If people want to do it in vent or whatever, more power to them. That means the people setting up the alliance need to have a good enough reputation with the rest of their server to communicate the alliance and have people stick with it. (I assumed you were talking about cross-server alliances)
And I hate the idea of outmanned buff being used as the vehicle to fixing the current population issues. Population balance problems are incredibly common in multiplayer games, and most available solutions are better than an outmanned buff in my opinion. I’d like to see incentives to join the undermanned side tried first since it is the least disruptive. If that doesn’t work, there are still tons of options better than a buff.
AoE Friendly fire LOL!
You obviously haven’t thought enough about those ideas. How would people do combo’s when AoE skills became friendly fire ? You would screw it all up.

So, each item with commentary:
Fix invisible armies – AGREE absolutely. Highest priority in WvW as this is a huge issue (not knowing when to flee is the sux).
Remove AOE damage through gates – AGREE. However, because of this, AOE damage should be increased so that the AOE effect essentially “envelopes” teh gate. I should not be able to hit or be hit by toons on the other side of the gate with the exception of a very few set of skills. Those skills should be listed as “Can be shot through gates” in their skill description.
Alliances support & chat – DISAGREE. 3 way is meant to be 3 way. Do not change this. Alliances within the same World, I can agree on (ie, multiple guilds).
Show guild tag on claimed structures – AGREE.
Improve outmanned buff. atm it’s useless. – AGREE. This is the 2nd highest priority on this list. 50v10 sux. 100v10 sux. The buff does nothing. And the situation isn’t that we just aren’t trying, its that the opposing server just has more people on at that time period. However, there was mention of a Mercenary option on these forums that I would support even stronger.
Fix queues – AGREE
Siege weapons can damage friendly structures – DISAGREE – are you mad? Griefing and such… BAD.
Nerf mesmer. It’s ridiculous that you need a mesmer for everything. – NO COMMENT – I prefer to focus entirely on balance for all classes. Bring the underpowered classes up in power and reduce the overpowered (gently).

Various other classes for figuring out how to kill em (thief, warrior, mesmer, etc…)

sorry i didn’t specify that i meant intra-server guild alliances.
you can use /map channel to coordinate with other guilds… but with a dedicated channel you can avoid to worry about flooding the chat

I prefer to focus entirely on balance for all classes. Bring the underpowered classes up in power and reduce the overpowered (gently).

Remove AOE damage through gates should also go for Siege weapons then you dont need damage friendly structures.
I agree with all except friendly fire. That’s just a no-go in such a chaotic environment as is W3. Maybe for Siege Weapons only….but that’s a big maybe.

This is a bad.. BAD idea. Currently in our server we already have saboteurs wasting supplies by building rams inside keeps and in the middle of nowhere. Imagine if they were to actually claimed something, that would be just horrible…
I’ll add a few more beside the obvious bug fixes.
1. Increase group size to 10. This way 1 full group is enough to pop up a treb. Sure we can run 2 groups of 5 but 1 group of 10 is easier to communicate with party chat /assist.
2. Remove PvE contents from WvW until you increase pop cap on the those maps.
