Why can you run a script to count the points and give me rank 80 like I’ve already earned? We shouldn’t suffer because you figured out 9 months later that people would want ranks in WvW…

They want new people coming into WvW without feeling like they are behind everyone else. Good idea to get new people into WvW, but punishes the long term WvW players. In my opinion I don’t mind it since new people are playing.

I wouldn’t say punishes the long term players, all the stats you have are still there and those players will rank up much faster then the new players. It doesn’t do anything negative to you just starts you off even.

They clearly didn’t record it for individual characters

WxP ranks are utterly pointless – why all the fuss.

Anet has already said wxp will not be retroactive for previously earned xp or kills.

I wish it were retroactive. :\

I made a thread about this a while ago. The reason it isn’t retroactive is because it is character based whereas your achievements were tracked on an account level.

They had no choice other than making ranks character bound because if they made them account bound, they would have no excuse for not making the prior achievements retroactive to your World Rank, which they really did not want to do.

It’s because anet doesn’t care about real wvw players all they really care about are the pveplayers and they want them in wvw so they can “prove” that it is good. ell if u like midlessly running around capping stuff then its good if u actually want to win and are hoping Ur fellow server mates care then Ur this is horrible. I use wvw and fill time between pokemon and rift pve

It’s not that anet “doesn’t” care about WvW players, its that they have to cater to the larger player base which is PvE. And as “real” WvW players why would the rank mean that much to you? You played before, you’ll play after. (unless your not a “real” WvW player) You’ll have a higher rank then most PvE players because your focus is WvW.

I have low ranks because I play support and I don’t just go mindlessly zerging. I siege up , scout, run yaks. All the stuff that gives u nothing but isi needed to win. And Ur right the ranks don’t matter to me what makes my angery is that instead of trying to make wvw better for for wvw players they just try to give the pve players more to do. They have 10 times the amount of content as it is. And I’ll bet you wvw player spend more real money on gems than a pve player.

As a WvW veteran, I am more than fine with not having my past accomplishments added to the system. I extremely dislike it when games release new content and everyone has it day 1, it makes it very un-special.

Also they made it character-bound, while your old wvw statistics are all account bound, so it’s more than likely not as simple as you suggest, even if they DID want to give you credit for them.

While it would definitely be nice to be grandfathered in I understand that newcomers would probably feel alienated.

You’re “suffering” because of this. Wow. I can barely imagine the torment you must have endured back when WXP had not even been announced or expected. We should get Amnesty International on this right away, maybe even have the U.N. prosecute Anet at the Hague under international war crimes statutes.
