Increased balista range

I need 1 more rank to have enough points for increased balista range and i was wondering if anyone has it or knows how much extra range it actually gives. Im trying to decide between range increase or a second supply increase and how much the balista range increase is will decide it for me
It will increase your range from 3,000 to 3,500.
So sense balista range is really jus based on what you can an can’t target, it increases how far away you can click someone by 500?~
My guess is that it just fixes those clickable targets that are just barely out of reach by the #1 and #3 skills (but hittable with the #2 skill).
Yeah I was going to say, Ballista can already hit max targetable range. What we need is for #4 to have much shorter cooldown.
I would get the balillista upgrade over supply. But IMO, the supply upgrade is outrageous and will be the last thing I upgrade.

It reads +1 +2 +3 +4 +5 while providing +1 +1 +1 +1 +1.
If you look at how similar stuff in any other system in the game(runes etc) is handled, it’s clear, the guys who made the system didn’t even bother looking into how the game, they are supposed to write a feature for, displays stuff.
It’s simply disappointing to have 2 ways of displaying the same kind of stuff in the same system. As long as it reads +1 +2 +3 +4 +5, I simply regard the fact, each upgrade gives only +1 a bug, as it’s clearly supposed to give +15 when maxed, as is evident by the description.
I mean, 6 runes of divinity also give +10 all stats, right?

I thought it was pretty clear that if you take all 5 upgrades you would get +5 supply, bringing you to 15 max capacity total.

Do any of the wxp abilities work that way? I have assumed they are all exactly what they say, so for example Siege Bunker after spending 30 points is only a 5% decrease in damage. 15 points spent in ballista mastery gets you 25% increase in damage and a new siege ability, but for 30 points you can reduce the damage by something so small you will not even notice…. makes sense.

Not true. There are people you can click on that the ballista bolt won’t hit — it will drop too quickly and land in front of them. Sometimes you can still get them with the AE blast of the #2 shot but at the extreme range even that won’t work.
I would guess that +500 range would make all clickable targets hittable.

Yes, no wxp ability works that way. However, everything which was there BEFORE that update works that way. Basically, with the update, they introduced a second documentation system for benefits which works completely contrary to what was there before.
ESPECIALLY because there is also stuff in that line, for instance, the ballista stuff, where the bonus from the previous tier is actually carried over.
THAT, ladies and mentlegen, is, what we call an INCONSISTENCY. And it makes that update only more of a joke than it already is.
And about hittable and not hittable: If you are on a tower(i.e. higher up than your target), you can hit everything, you can target, pretty much. If you are on the same level as your target, you simply can’t.

My dissapointment is I was hoping for the faster bolts to mean faster fire rate, not faster travel. I generally dont find travel an issue rather than the delay after pressing the button, allowing people to walk out.
Interestingly though, the ballista tooltip says 2s CD, but when you fire it’s 3s ^^.

So you could set down your own ballista in the middle of the field and start firing without anyone else having to put down supply? They should really go all out and allow us to carry 40 so that we can just plop down a ram by ourselves without any help.

The amount of time it’d take you to work up to that amount of supply, i don’t think that’s too ridiculous.

Heads up… Don’t stand near Siegerazer during resupply at the start of a breakout if you are holding more than 10 supply. You will get knocked down to 10.
I now unlocked the increased ballista range but for some reason it still reads the max range at 3,000 not 3,500 that it is supposed to be at…..anyone else experiencing that.

You forgot #1 rule of GW2 : NEVER trust tooltips.
You should try and compare with a teammate if the range increase is effective.

I would be somewhat happy with the cooldown if the damage was vastly increased. The few times I have had the opportunity to use it it has been utterly useless and I was dead before the global cooldown was up. If it was capable of one-shotting three targets, regardless of class/HP, it would be perfect and encourage people to do more than just charge headlong into siege equipment.

As far as ballista range is going. Their ballista shots are falling short of us in this picture, while we can hit them. This is the maximum range for them when upgraded.
