Or do WvWvW matches never seems to be even. It’s never like “Man, my server is getting owned but look at those other two go at it!” The score is always something like 20k, 20k, 300k. What is it about the mode that always makes it one sided? I also have yet to see a server with 90% of the map ever lose ground. Is it a population thing? How can one server hold that many buildings without at least one of their two competitors taking it from under them? It would seem that just pure random chance would see the maps split evenly from time to time. Just discouraged over here.

From what I’ve noticed?

A lot of the times, the losing servers don’t really acknowledge the score when making their plans.

i.e. I see the two losing servers hitting each other as hard as they can, keeping supply and manpower tied up, which just gives the winning server more time to secure their position and become even stronger.

On the other hand. Last night I was playing WvWvW and my server was in the lead by a decent margin.

The other two servers decided to temporarily stop pressuring each other and ended up hitting our main keep from both sides. Within two or three hours we were basically pushed back to our spawn and the scores were slowly creeping towards even.

The first team to own all 3 orbs gets a buff that gives them 15% more HP and 150 to all stats. This is what’s causing the lopsidedness. Once a server gets all 3 orbs it’s game over for the other servers.

right now there is imbalance due to the fact that some servers are in brackets they shouldnt be due to their performance during the 24 hours battles vs the 1 week battles, this will need to be balanced out. as of right now i believe the 1st and 2nd brackets are actually fairly balance, everyone being within 20k points from 1st to last.

balance is something that needs to take time. and arena net WILL need to do several fixes to combat night capping/population inbalance/exploiting, but these will have to come out in time. WvW will be a rapidly evolving beast, but they need time to test changes.

Balance will be a lot quicker once they change the orb buff. Notice how the other 2 teams have relatively the same score? They also don’t have the orb buff. Coincidence? I think not.

This kind of mentality is what makes things game over. yes the buff needs adjustment but it doesnt make a server invincible.

Last night a group of 5 held off a zerg of 40 with well placed arrow carts at a non-upgraded keep. They had 2 of the 3 orbs, but expected to face tank the gate. We tore them apart and when our zerg showed up they were only left with scraps to play with.

Yeh I don’t believe the orbs are much of an issue either. I’m on a server that is constantly losing our holdings and orbs once prime-time is over. We always wake up to the bigger server owning all three orbs, and almost every night we go to bed owning at least one of them, sometimes even two. Of course we lose the orbs while our server is asleep, but it is what it is.

Well it doesn’t help that they put Seafarer’s Rest up against two german servers, so besides having more ppl they always double team us

Gotta respect Germans. We could learn lot of them. We did find that it’s impossible ninja their keeps because there is always somebody. Enemy often can just walk in our keeps because keep are empty. Usually it goes like this in borderlands:
“Enemy attacking garrison”
“How many? Gate %?”
“Inner gate 10%”

But it’s not anybody’s fault. I don’t really wanna sit there and keep watch either.
