The rush to transfer has obviously been done with lack of foresight.

SoS and JQ both got big bumps in population after guesting/paid transfer date was announced. BG got little until late this week and in my opinion still got less then the other 2 so far.

As for that person claiming PR spin and mind games. Get a grip, the points from the last 2 weeks showed clearly BG is still the underdog based on lack of coverage which we STILL suffer from.

Ah, but this week, BG is in 2nd place with a very comfortable lead over SOS. Could it be that BG has better coverage than SOS? Or did you guys get major wvw guilds that tipped that power balance towards your side?

However, since you used previous week’s scores and recruitment results to back up your claim, thenI may agree with you that BG is still underdogs compared to SOS and JQ.

Im not blaming JQ for recruiting but to not see that you guys have already gotten better transfers then BG and SoS with coverage is just being blind.

I expect SoS and BG to come out with excuses but there should be no excuses for JQ to lose.

All the JQ WvW leaders, including myself put allot of time into reaching out to other guilds and giving them options about what our server truly offers.

It was the guilds choosing.

BG won’t make excuses. We fight hard, use solid tactics, and respect our opponents. Whether its facing a huge Zerg. Or small groups, I think most of us are here to have fun. Yeah we would love to win but it’s about the fights and teamwork involved. Hats off to JQ BL garrison defense last night. You guys were Everywhere! Much respect to both SOS and JQ

Maybe we have been too long at #1, judging by all this bawling. TSYM originally came here with the hope of competing (and beating) the best the game has to offer. They are now lined up across the battlefield from us, all in one place, and all with a mind to take us on a prison date.

For my small group players, solo players, and fair weather players. YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFRENCE, and guess what, its not on here. The EUs have brought over some VERY interesting play variances that have changed the game in many ways. Small 5-10 man teams have never been so relevant, get on it (message me in game for info on this, would be happy to help).

We are facing the best competition this game can offer, and win or lose, this is going to be on hell of a ride! Literally every guild i have tipped my hat to for their skill and ability with the exception of WM and SFD are now on JQ, giving you the chance to prove you are worthy of the crown. Win or lose, if that doesn’t fire you up, you need to hop on the badwagon.

That, or get off the field and let people who still have the fire get in.

Good post Coron, I for one am trying to get my large Pve orientated guild more active in wvw to fill in some of those gaps when we can. I’m sure there is a lot of players on our server that just need to be asked to participate and be guided.

edit: this is not a whine at coverage, more about getting the server as a whole involved. When LA is overflowed and we are outmanned in a borderland, I see opportunity.

Yep, I have no doubt we (BG) will be back in tier 2 next week. You have to remember that BG still lacks Aussie coverage which shows the most during the week where people can’t stay up as late.

Honestly, that is completely fine with me since we will be fighting against the Kaineng beast. It will be a nice change of pace for us.

what rubbish. Even in the weeks where were came 1st we had plenty of times being outmanned and we didn’t give up then.

People still don’t seem to understand where our coverage lies. JQ and BG always used to get big points in-between the end of the night for the oceanics and the start of the NA timezone.

There is only one thing i have sure about T1: “The Train is coming…”

The Aussies carry SoS, NA just bandwagons, tries not to lose the lead too bad during EU, and hopes to pass off a way point other than the spawn to the downunders.

Yeah it’s pretty dumb. Things should settle into some sense of normalcy in a few weeks though. Still, the idea that a server who has won 3 matches in 3 months could be the #2 ranked server on Friday is a bit mind boggling.

I know, it is still early in the week, but SOR save a major event is going to rake in the rating this week.

If SOS takes some of the projected rating gains away from JQ this week (JQ can still have a positive net gain) it lessens the amount of total rating SOR needs to take 1st. SOS entered this matchup with 2,168.621 rating with a projected net loss of 60+. It would take a large (still possible) comeback to break even.

SOS breaking even this week would require JQ and BG to have have significantly lower (and possibly negative) gains, which would still make it easier for SOR to shoot up to first since they are relatively unopposed in their tier.

I believe SOS will make a showing this week after the holiday and the natural disasters in Australia, although I don’t think even a win will put them to far into the positive. I am not underestimating them.

However the better they do this week (given their projected 60 point loss) the lower the bar is for first place (in terms of rating).

Yes, as far as T1 goes it is too early to tell.

The SOR T2 component is almost certainly not too early to tell, save an unforseen major event. Because T2 is all but a certainty we can speculate using SOR’s rating gains.

Blackgate is afraid to attack SOS? Are you kidding right?

Right now it shows SOR as the 2nd rank team with BG dropping to tier 2.

VotF is like a big number version of RG. Very hard to stop i would say. But i actually hate the strategy to stack all in one paintrain just moving around like ball of death. It eliminate loads of open field movement tactics. But hell Anet didnt care, they even want to nerf AoE dmg lol (lol wtf?),… it will even make this strategy more more viable.

The only thing to stop this ball of death tactic is to stay up on the wall or make a bigger/better ball of death, or Anet gotta “buff AoE” (not nerf =-=‘’’) and unlimit the AoE targets.

BG isn’t in any real danger of losing rating.

Nobody has to lose rating to get bumped out of T1 right now.

You called nothing. BG is gaining 30 Points in rating right now. And by the end of the week will most likely gain a positive of some number.

When SoR gets to Tier 1, we’ll see how high their rating stays.

BG has gained rating 13 out of the last 14 weeks, we just keep going up. If it weren’t for SBI shenanigans we’d have secured out foothold in Tier 1 by now.

This is one of the most difficult battles BG has to face. There is a lot of things at stake.. Hopefully the new patch would encourage more players…

Score Update

There is a fair amount of interesting maths going on in this thread. My 2 cents.

IMHO, Regardless of finishing places, Barring a 50k surge by any one team;
JQ will finish with a rating between 2158-2180+.
Both SoS and BG will finish with ratings between 2100 and 2135+.
SoR will finish with a rating between 2135 and 2145+.

Regardless it is a great battle with some excellent struggles taking place all week so far.

So… what you’re saying is that the only way BG can stay in T1 is to realize that they need to take all the points they can from SoS primarily because each point taken is effectively a two point turnaround (+1 BG and -1 SoS)?

You know… from seeing them fight I’d say they’re more than capable and could do so without worrying about a double team against them from JQ.
