I’ve been an active WvW player for a bit now on Ferguson’s Crossing and It feels like something’s changed in this common matchup. Objectively speaking, Ferguson’s is still the larger of the three, but this week’s matchup seems incredibly fitting. I’ve been having a blast in WvW these past few days because it doesn’t feel like a landslide in one direction or another. The battlefield map consistently looks like i had envisioned it should ideally look like. Also, I think Kaineng has really really stepped it up and really started kicking some kitten #8230; So here’s to you Devona’s and (Especially) Kaineng for supplying a proper WvW experience!!

Yep, been playing on Kaineng since day 1. Stuck through thick and thin (pretty much all thin) and we are getting a pretty steady influx of WvWer’s. I get excited when all the scores are within x2 of each other. Used to the first place team having 15x the amount of points as 2nd and 3rd. Props to both DR and Ferg. It’s been fun as hell.

DR here. Thanks! I’ve definitely noticed a difference between ourselves and in Kaineng this week, though we still have a long way to go as far as leadership is concerned.

The fights we are having in this matchup, and last week’s with Borliss Pass… are exactly what our guild and alliance came to Kaineng for.

No, SoS is not in our alliance. Not that we dont want to ally, they are a great bunch, and Chaster (thier leader) is from my own experience a really helpful guy all-round on the server. We just dont hardly have any overlapping playtimes. We also are taking our time to get to know the other guilds on Kaineng before adding to formal alliance. Open ended server wide alliance isnt soemthing we are shooting for.

How many of your alliances did go to Kaineng and where were you guys originally from? 3 weeks ago it felt like kaineng got 25% additional population added but it wasn’t enough. But this week it felt like their population doubled. Kaineng is resisting FC very well even though they still lack the population, but they have gained more people and i can for sure officially confirm that they do have more WvWvW guilds then FC that’s for sure. We’re only winning due to numbers.

Yea this has been a fun match up. I was in Langor last night and Kaineng was trebbing our tower from the invulnerable area…….. that is a little dirty for my taste but all is fair in love and war. We got pushed back to Quentin. I have to say on that same line treb placement for all 3 sides is quite interesting. The range of them is crazy and all you need is a spotter to do some out of sight attacking.

It has definitely been a fun match up. I feel like FC’s population is much lower now than it was before…maybe a bunch of people jumped ship last week after the beating from Darkhaven. I have not seen any commanders and I feel like we have become very disorganized in the last two weeks. We still have a population advantage to Kaineng and Devona, but that’s the only thing I feel like is holding us together.

It does seem like that. I mostly only see a few guilds in WvW. Namely [SANC]. I haven’t seen as much presense in recent weeks but that could be do to IRL reasons though.

yes, i came here from a bigger tier server to kaineg (not gonna say which as to not offend them) but reason why is they give up too easy. O no were losing by a little bit, guess well just wait til next week to get the tier we want. O wait now all our guilds transfered over, well guess we have to wait another week. at this rate eventually it would be a ghost town, so i read up on servers and found out Kaineg is super competitive regardless of numbers, so i know itll be a great place to wv3. And i haven’t regreted it since, except for finding parties in dungeons are quite harder though.

It’s has been a surprisingly “less brutal” week than I expected, tbh. Last night we had a very nice mix of red, green, and blue on the map. I missed out on most of the DRB fighting, but I watched it closely. Bravo to those who held the orb. Quite a few of us were glued to the map for quite some time.

I saw a large amount of 3 way battles and it was really fun to see some of these brawls kick up.

After all the chatter with some of the people involved in this weeks match up, from across the servers, and guilds. It was a bit of a different feeling for me last night. in a good way.

Had a blast, looking forward to the weekend.

It was 3-6 of us the entire time that took the supplies, towers, the keep and orb haha.

Balidore in which zone? I was on last night and we (Ferg) were getting pushed back by Kaineng [War] and company. About 30-35 Kaineng vs 15-20 Ferg in the langdor before we left the tower since we were out of supply and were getting pounded by seige from the kaineng keep and the invulverable zone with mortars and trebs respectively. Honestly, I think WvWvW population depends on each server having different peak hrs. Like now I am at work for my 10 hrs or so.

Cheers to everyone! This matchup has been ten times more fun than it was the last time around. No matter what people say about the numbers and all the excuses (including those coming from my server), all that matters is we have been having some great fights. Keep up the great competition guys!

From my experience, we have a lot of fair weather players. We also experienced a dropoff after the Darkhaven horde massacre. There are, however, a lot of people I see fighting through thick and thin.

I constantly am fighting [ispy], [WAR], [HOT], [Grey], [Aer] (with their super rogue duo awesomeness), and [RED]. Been some great fights. I sneak around in small groups like a cheetah picking off Kaineng and Devona’s Rest stragglers from the big offensives that Kaineng has been launching into Devona’s rest homeland.

Had some fun last night in Devona’s Rest BL. Been enjoying lots of fights in this week’s matchups and can’t wait for more!

Definitely have to agree with this. In terms of some of our last match-ups, this has been an incredibly even, and fun week.

A good example of this: was in the FC Borderlands last night, and was running with a small zerg taking some camps. The Fergs discovered us at the southern most camp (forget the name atm), at the same time, a group of Kaineng came up on us as well. Probably fought over that camp for a good 15 minutes. Held the Fergs on the bridge, and skirmished with the Kaineng group. After all was said and done, the Ferg group finally overtook us (we were no longer able to keep them isolated to the bridge), and they overran us. Point of all this? It was a fantastic fight, and one that, eventhough I ended up a very dead Asura, I will still remember as a great battle.

I look forward to more great battles!

WTB Kaineg’s Oceanic Crew!

Bladie, when [WAR], [iSPY] and [Jawa] came over with our alliance we brought about 40 active pvp’ers between our 3 guilds. that was almsot 3 weeks ago.

[RMA] a brazilian guild, came over as well are large guild that can field a large force,. they came week and a half ago i think, but they arent going to stay.

Our alliance, since coming to Kaineng has been agressively recruiting. We have been gaining alot of lowby players from the starter zones, with the specific intent of funelling them into WvW to run with us. Most of our memberbase is now people we recruited right here on Kianeng. I know WAR is close to 200 membercount, with a goal of nightly having a force of 40-50 in WvW, where we can push 2 maps at once. [iSPY] has also gained alot since getting here. WAR has so far 5 commanders in the guild, with 2 more within the next few weeks. [iSPY] has 1 commander and im sure could have more if they wanted it as well.

We dont just zerg in a mass blob either. We have specified team leaers within each squad, and when we need to split off, each team leader taks his 5man to objectives our commander have indicated. We’ve been on maps assulting 4 or 5 different objectives at the same time, many times. We constantly kicking strategies around with each other, and are working more moreon our tactics.

We’re def sticking on Kaineng for the long haul. Love this server. We got lotsa potential here and are organizing it the way it should be. Give us time we will go up a tier :P

This is the best matchup I’ve seen so far. So much slugging back and forth, I love it(I mean, there is the occasional fly hacker from Ferg this week, but they failed each time thanks to vigilance on our side and were reported).

And last night from 12AM to 4AM Est was a hoot in FC’s Borderland at Redlake Tower. A group of maybe 10 held off a good 30+, and we destroyed well over 7 trebs and countless Catapults, Ballistae, and Arrow Carts, before it finally fell to a protracted Treb Siege guarded by 6+ Arrow Carts that our small warband couldn’t penetrate. But [KAIN] held that tower well over 4 hours and enjoyed every minute of it. And even when it fell and we fell back to the keep, we still took out a Siege Golem before that keep fell too.

And FC wasn’t the only ones we fought. We had to punch away some Devona Zergs too, and even saw Ferg and Devona mash it up at one time. I think at one point the Ferg Zerg chased down a lonely Devona Asuran. I felt bad for him.

Either way, it ended with out defeat and some jolly good corpse dancing, but in the end, the last 3 of us in the keep lept off Shaderon Hill’s bridge to our death as they broke through that last door in the keep. I’d say both sides won, since I had a grand ol’ time those 4 hours at the tower and keep.

If you see a Kaineng Thief in Divinity Council Gear with an Eyepatch on your soil backstabbing you, it’s just me saying ‘Hello’.

Darxio, there is hacking on Kaineng too but thank goodness the hacking isn’t terribly bad. knock on wood

That aside, just wanted to join the chorus praising our 3 way fight. We just recently took back FC borderlands, and thought I’d post a few screenies to show just how hard each side has fought this far into the week.

I’d have to say that each of us: Denova, Kaineng and Ferguson’s have incredible fighting spirit! The top servers can have their top tiers; we of the bottom tier know where the real fight is at. >=)

Now stay out of our borderlands or we’ll kick the ever-loving kitten out of you until you leave again. =)

Noooo! Not our precious secret stash of mushrooms…Quick! let’s rally a zerg to drive out this illusive Kaineng mushroom stealer!

The fight at stonemist has been a fun one as well. DR finally secured our 1/3rd of the map this afternoon and we’ve been trebbing the outer walls relentlessly, but any attempt to breach the inner walls has been met with fierce resistance by both FC and Kain. Good show to all guys.

Haha, yeah for some reason Kaineng and us went at each other. We wiped kainengs group, and then FC came in en masse to clean us up. Super fun fight.

It was 2-3am cst. Kaineg Border. They took it back with 35-40 at about 7am though, lol.

Was out there after 7 est taking most of Fergusons BL, then hopping to Devona’s BL back and forth with a large group of alliance/randoms for most of the night. At one point Kaineng had 3 orbs for about 5 minutes which was exciting! Our alliance then jumped to Eternal Battlegrounds later at night when we only had our fully reinforced keep left. Pushed out and gained more of the map, had tons of fun in about 10 hours of WvW today lol…

I must admit that the first couple days on Kaineng after we transferred from Dragonbrand it really felt like WvW sucked here and that the only plus was no queues. Stuck it out as an alliance for a week, and it’s getting better each week. Fun fights all the time, ability to load onto whatever map at whatever time with next to zero queues is amazing. It’s only going to get better and I can’t wait!

Oh my. Mad props to Kaineng holding 2 orbs and over half the map. Maybe DR should start a recruitment campaign xD. Seriously, you guys are all heart, but you have the brains to back it up. I’d really like to see you take this matchup.

I’m not sure I follow. We haven’t looked at the score board since the game came out, but I’m pretty sure we’ve never lost, which is why we’re tied with Devona’s Rest for #1 in North America.

3hrs ago the deficit between ferg and kaining was roughly 48k points. So assuming this hasn’t changed much in the last 3 hrs. Kaineng would have to maintain at least 140 point average lead over fergusson the rest of the time remaining. That would be tough but not unobtainable. Late last night ferg had very few points on the map left. DR and Kaineng had the the vast majority.

Thus far, DR has fallen hard to the Oceanic guild SoS. Unfortunately people are uncoordinated and run headlong into the massive guild presence.

hahaha some fergs guilds are currently exploiting to get into lowlands keep. Great job guys! Show us why you deserve first place!

Edit: after pming them and making them aware that it was an exploit they showed excellent sportsmanship and left the keep on their own, so kudos play on.

DR’s got too many cooks in the kitchen during their “primetime”…and that leads to disorganization. Plus, all those pretty blue gems on the map automatically create zerg squads…even when certain people do delegate representatives to “command” separate areas of the map as to ease the chain of command (sometimes it is actually present). Once those commanders flip their eye candy on, it’s pretty much zerg…“when are we going to EB”…or any number of hinderances that exist within DR’s ranks. There are plenty of guilds that have ‘stepped up’ in the last couple weeks, but as far as I’ve seen, none of these guilds are really truly working together to achieve the same ideals or goals. I, like many, have not seen the inside of a dungeon…play a lot of WvW, and don’t care for sPvP.

Now not all the commanders that we have are idiots and do their best to delegate…but until the players on this server want to listen to people that may actually have a good idea of what’s going on and how to defend (when necessary and it is with DR’s low outcome in population)…DR will be resting in the bottom feeders club.

Its disheartening for people to think we can’t make a stand because “We dont have enough people” or “We need a commander online”. Makes my wanna donkey punch everyone on the server.

I have felt this week’s wvw match has been much more exciting than any other that Kaineng has been a part of. People say that the change is caused by increase in population, but the truth is we are just becoming more organized. Guilds have banded together, and that has made up for most of our lack of numbers. Teamwork is what this game is about, and we have realized that.

Makes my wanna donkey punch everyone on the server.

Sometimes I wonder if you kids know what you’re saying. Always willing to repeat something that sounds funny without knowing what it means. On another note, though. Try this:

Instead of blogging about your feelings in the WvW chat, and saying things like “Perhaps we should gather together and assault the tower at X location, a victory is necessary in order to inspire the soldiers and spur them to battle.”

Say,“Help us (then link objective)” Or simply type,"Zerg (and link the objective)

Instead of saying “I think we should set up a catapult here at this location and utilize it for the destruction of that gate.”

LAY DOWN THE CATAPULT and say “Build! Supplies are (link the supply camp) there.”

Write this down on your refrigerator and memorize it: BREVITY

Look, man. Obama is president. This is proof that a man doesn’t have to know what he’s doing in order to be followed. Just get up there and sound like you know what you’re doing! People, as with Obama supporters, will think to themselves,“Hey! This guy knows what he’s doing!”

You don’t need a blue icon or guild leadership or even anybody in your group, son! The zerg has followed me just because I’m the guy in the front and I have never said a word! Just one of you has to step up! It might as well be you!

But, yeah, thanks to the WAR / iSpy / Jawa / PVMP and any that’s soon joining the evermoor alliance that makes us complete.

Or else it’s just usually just us, the SoS, and some from SDG’s Taiwanese alliance (SDG / Ren / IS, and some other smaller guilds) that was taking all over the map during our prime time, and once we go to sleep, it’s all taken back by the green (FC, BP, or NSP) by the time we wake up, so this week really fires us up.

Mmmm, in the long run Kaineng will defeat Ferguson’s Crossing. Your server has just too many pure WvWvW guilds now. Ferg consists of little guilds that aren’t even organized. I don’t even know any pure WvWvW guild except for mine that does WvWvW on our server. Where as Kaineng has specific guilds that cover the server 24/7. I’m happy for Kaineng but like some other DR has said, you’re really not the Underdog anymore, it’s DR. As a server whole, FC definitely has double ur numbers maybe but when it comes to WvWvW guilds, Kaineng is definitely up there with us. It’s like this, Kaineng and WvWvW guild Vs Fergs and randoms. And, for Kaineng and FC allies, can you stop half lying about how you’re outmanned? There’s gonna be a moment during the day when a server is outmanned due to their server’s lack of wvwvw players not logging on. You get no respect from me when you’re telling the whole GW2 community about how you’re outmanned and yet you’re server’s still coming up strong. (you know who you are).

DR is definatly the underdog right now.

For weeks they were solidly in second place, but they have had no real good PR.

And also this matchup is a testimate that free server transfers dont always destroy wvw, its actually making this a very decent matchup. Sure its unfair at particular hours but the scores are all much closer. And because kaineng and ferg are competative DR has had room to take things and work on building themselves up without getting smashed into their spawn point during primetime.
