all classes 80, who is the cheesiest of them all?
gw2 dress-up barbie is the real endgame
How dare you try to come between us! Dark Isle of Janthaven works in tandem. The evening shift of our illustrious alliance turns your T3 keeps to paper and paints it green. The oceanic shift of capitalizes on that paper (like any oceanic shift would) and paints it red. I don’t know if it would quite work the other way around, as we’ve established numerous times that IOJ just doesn’t have the numbers to stave your server off during primetime. So no, the other half of Isle of Janthaven is doing precisely the smartest thing (and most cost-efficient). But not to worry, as Isle of Sorrows alliance will resume in T-minus 2 days if the last two weeks are anything to go by.

Ha, like I said, if they wanna keep playing for 2nd place on T6 then good on them. And IoJ does fine staving off our numbers, last night when the minority planned on helping them acquire SM, the majority decided to rush at the last minute. IoJ seemed to stave them off pretty well then.
IoJ seems to stave us off pretty well judging by their 1/3 of EB during the NA primetime weekdays. The only times I see IoJ struggle is if DH just happens to be hitting them the same time we are (during NA weekday primetimes).
More of an observation than anything else, just saying we know IoJ will take our stuff at night. It is what they take during the day that determines where they place (1st or 2nd).
When your recappers are as kitten as this (notice no outmanned buff)
How can you try and blame us for wanting to take and then hold your borderlands?
16k behind DH, if only we had that little bit more coverage, first will be ours!
I think you guys take our comments of “reality” and read them as “blame”…Cap anything you guys want lol. Most the time people do not mean to come off as “whiny”, they are really just saying “hey this is what is happening”. Sure there are some obvious potshots in there most times, but usually just competitive nature flowing over.
SF isn’t whiny at all, at least not to each other….Our map chat isn’t full of QQing, it is usually full of people laughing or joking around, with the occasional “wtf alliance” jokes sprinkled in.
I think the only real issue that many of us on SF have, is that we get why DH would want to “work together” (for lack of a better term), but we do not see what the impetus is for IoJ. I mean good on you guys for getting 2nd place in T6, if that is your aim.
But realistically, had you been pressing DH more this week, and then owning us during the oceanic hours as you tend to do, then you would in all likelihood be in 1st place or pressing DH for first place. As it stands now, in an odd way, this “alliance” (again using a terrible word to describe whatever it is), is benefiting SF in the sense that it keeps the match for 2nd pretty close.
That has been the talk/joke we have been having this week, is that for whatever reason, IoJ seems to be (I am guessing) unbeknownst to them, “cutting off their own nose, to spite their face”.
Say what you want about me or my server, but the reality is the only thing keeping IoJ for contending for the top spot, far as we can tell, is IoJ. Stark I think you were on to something at the first of this thread when you wanted to focus more on DH, but it seems as though your server disagreed (judging by your latter posts).
We’ve been up against DH for 8-9 weeks now, not once getting close to first place, no matter what we tried. Even though our oceanic presence is huge, DH still show some strength, enough to slow us down/keep pressure until our server goes to sleep.
You do realise during NA times SF have zergs upon zergs, DH have zergs and IoJ are left with the outmanned buff struggling to hold onto what they got, then comes oceanic time, we hit DH, SF keep all their points and we wont catch them, we hit SF, DH extend their lead and we catch up to second, during oceanic times is when we get our points, NA is just trying to defend what we got most of the time.
Woo! Finally succeeded in logging off. Took a rather long shift keeping eyes on Quentin Lake. Was very intense there for an hour or two. I’m glad that DH broke and went for IoJ. While the loot was exceptional, it was exhausting. It took me nearly an hour to fix up Quentin. Finding all the pieces was quite the challenge.
I’m the little Asuran Guardian with a Twilight. Fear me!
Nice! I was the DH thief commander with the incinerator (only popped in to lead for an hour or so). You’re a tough one. I’ll be watching out for you!

PPT is PPT, doesn’t matter where you get it from. So saying that X,Y,Z is the order, Z does not have to hit Y to gain ground. You can hit X or Y, or a combination, just as long as your PPT is above theirs, and you can maintain it.
I would chalk it up to more of human nature to think: we are in 3rd, we should hit the #2 guys to get to 2nd. Whether that comes from the idea that 2nd holds “your points” you need, or that the folks in 1st are too difficult, is debatable.
The comment I made was coming from the standpoint of PPT. The thought is that you could better maximize your PPT if you did not have such tunnel vision on SF during NA primetime. SF had “Outmanned” last night at around 8pm EST (AKA: NA PRIMETIME), DH had a horde of folks as DH tends to do. IoJ had enough to cap SM. Say what you want, but DH is the powerhouse in terms of people of this tier. By that I mean round the clock overall sustained population. The only way IoJ would come close to getting 1st place is to focus a bit more on DH in NA primes, and count on SF doing the same. PUGs will be PUGs though, so I can understand if you pushed WC and SF hit Ogre, then I see where you are coming from.
In the past SF as a server has had some “bad-blood” with other servers, and due to that we camped them. This allowed the 3rd server to probably own more points/PPT than they should have truly gotten. This was an inefficient strategy in the sense of “maximizing our PPT”, but we were winning/satisfied with the margins on the scoreboard, so it didn’t really register at the time as being “inefficient”. But hey like I said, do whatever you guys think is best, I guess I was just curious on what the thought process was on your end.

Because DH’s 40 man EB zerg is just going to roll over and let IOJ day cap all of our stuff. Likely! The synergy of our populations for weeks has shown the same pattern. When IOJ pushes DH during the day, we push right back (naturally) and IOJ ends up third in PPT because it takes much longer and much more manpower to push us than SF/DR. True, SF could capitalize on that and gain more points (DR’s EB zerg wasn’t as savvy, so it would knock DH down a bit). But if both IOJ and SF were pushing us at once, who do you think would get pushed back harder? So arguing they’d be first already if only they were pushing DH is illogical from IOJ’s pov. But it would just put SF in a better position for first. Hence, I’m sure, why you are even bringing it up :P
Like Jaxxx said, welcome to blue, Sorrow’s Furnace. You haven’t tried on that color for months and months, better talk to AR or BP for therapy on how to manage.

With the ticks being every 15minutes, we need to maximise our ppt and minimize yours as much as possible whilst we can.
If we hit DH, we will get less PPT for half the time as DH’s recovery time is a lot faster than SF, we will not be able to maintain the PPT lead for long enough to even secure second.
So by attacking SF we will be getting a lot more PPT, for a lot longer PLUS you guys will have a lot less for the same amount of time.
On top of that, we have a 100-150 more ppt than DH this whole time, so by attacking SF in force we are both gaining a secure 2nd place and slowly catching up to 1st.
Like Jaxxx said, welcome to blue, Sorrow’s Furnace. You haven’t tried on that color for months and months, better talk to AR or BP for therapy on how to manage.
Blue? After this week, they’re going to be red, something completely new for both our servers

I see your point, but first off: I said they could better contend for 1st, not really saying: hey if you hit DH you would have first locked up.
SF is gonna be 2nd or 3rd, the trends show that up to this point. I understand that you think there is some benefit from me saying all this, but really if we aren’t in first I could care less. Beyond that 1st is really just a feather in your cap, sure it is nice to have, and that is the goal, but beyond that you get nothing.
My point was that IoJ might capitalize better because they have somewhat of a wildcard in their oceanic coverage. I was admitting that IoJ will blast SF at night, my only question in their logic was their NA primetime methods. SF has more than proven they can hold their own for the most part during NA primtimes, and we have shown (for whatever reason) more of a propensity to go after DH (while we still do push IoJ, not saying we dont). I just see far more attempts at DH than IoJ, in EB.
Dear, sweet, little Melody, I can see where you would insinuate that I am insinuating something. Truly, I can see that now looking back, but like I said I was more curious of how they were justifying it to themselves, do not get all upset in your DH cushy first place and think that I am trying to dethrone you princess. SF is and will be fine no matter the place we are in, the only thing that will vary is the bandwagoners/PUGs.
I could say something along the lines of: “I don’t care what you do, go ahead hit us both in tandem”, but then that has already happened. So SF has no fears anymore at this tier, but clearly judging by your comments and supposed reasoning of mine, you and/or DH has some definite insecurities.
(edited by King Amadaeus.8619)
Also, I would like to add (since it got deleted due to me quoting a troll’s comment that got deleted)….
SF purposely worked DH last night to allow IoJ time to get siege up and make a run at SM. I was the mesmer from SF hanging out with some of the IoJ folks sieging the inner from the outer western wall.
Our main forces were keeping DH at bay somewhat by smacking klovan and DH Keep with feint attacks, in an effort to split their forces. The SF people at the end of the SM siege that fought IoJ in the lords room were “out of the loop” on the plan. So they rushed in at the end thinking it was a prime opportunity to gain an SM cap (it probably was but they did not have our full force due to the overarching strategy of us camping DH somewhat).
Lastly, I think you are focusing too much on the past few days when applying your scoring logic. At reset SF built a big lead, IoJ/DH then both focused fire on SF (understandable), while surely hitting each other for the normal varying amounts that tend to happen. This allowed DH to track down SFs lead fairly quickly, while IoJ remained “chipping away” at SF for second, finally overtaking us in large part due to their oceanic coverage.
My point was and is, if IoJ did not have such tunnel vision on SF THROUGHOUT the week (IE: including the weekend/reset), then they would have less ground to make up and possibly contend for 1st, rather than only 2nd. The winner of IoJ’s tunnel vision truly is DH, because once they get 1st they can sit back and “auto-pilot/cruise control”, for the rest of the week, while IoJ and SF duke it out.
I know this because we did it on T7, for the most part.

All I took from that is you trying to back-peddle around logic and the lack okittennowledgment that IOJ is doing exactly what they need to be doing (at the expense of SF, qq), as the last several posts from both DH and IOJ have stated. Which you originally bolded, hence the protests from both servers. I like our weekend fights the most, keep ’em coming… please.

Princess! Only if it’s this one. Taste my daggers, SF!
That is fine by me, like I said just was curious of the logic. And I fail to see what the almighty DH would have to fear….Perhaps I conveyed my theory/point in a poor way.
But really I was just saying, if IoJ didn’t have such tunnel vision on SF throughout the week, then they might find their selves hitting 2nd place earlier than on Wednesday morning. Even if they did not hit 2nd earlier, they would still possibly hit second with a smaller margin between them and DH (1st to 2nd). Hence my comment of them having a better shot at first. Right now all their current strategy does is guarantee them 2nd, with no hope for first(1st).
All of that, assumes that I (someone from SF) am conceding that in all of said scenarios listed: SF would be in 3rd place. So why would it matter to me? I mean why do you insinuate that I have some ulterior motive? I mean we can all see why it would matter to you (and subsequently DH). If you keep IoJ as your puppets, then 2 and 3 can just beat down each other. Again I will say it for the reading impaired: all of this assumes (on my part) that SF will finish 3rd! If the trends showed SF finishing 2nd I could see the DH side of the argument.
To sum it up, in regards to DH, “methinks the lady doth protest too much”.
Does DH have more numbers than SF during the night? I’m just curious why their areas were entirely untouched in that screencap earlier. I know we hurt on numbers at night, but it’s hard not to look at that and think we’re being ganged up on, between during the day (DH hitting us heavily) and at night (IoJ capping our stuff).
Or I guess another question would be, does IoJ not have as many numbers as they imply over night and only focus target one target at a time?
(I really need to stay up overnight one weekday and see what goes on).
Anyway, besides the two commanders that work with each other between IoJ and DH as mentioned, I doubt there’s actually an alliance as opposed to path of least resistance behavior (at least on IoJ’s side, dunno what DH’s excuse is).
And as for SF, wtf guys. I know we can do far better than we have been, it’s rather pathetic when I go to borderlands/EB lately and watch the kind of kitten tactics, and lazily fighting in open fields as opposed to capping. Hopefully we get over whatever ‘shock to the system’ is going on quickly, it’s becoming hard to get into WvW when no one works together.
Ok, I woke up with a head ache so im going to insert something feisty here.
All this point talk is moot…once Darkhaven pulls their head out of their cheeks on reset nights the rest of the week wont matter because we will have a 40k point lead by monday. and our gents on Week day Bankers Shift will handle the rest.
and btw…good job Isle. Nice to see you giving it some hell this week!
Im going back to bed…

Too much pugging, too much randomness, not enough of our larger guilds organizing larger zergs moving in a positive direction.
It is very easy for people to get sucked into the vortex that is that area in front of SM, it happens to the best of us. But please for the love of nipples, go do something productive.
In fact, just go stand by a commander. And if you are a commander and standing there for a reason (IE: scouting siege/supply/etc), direct the people where to go.
Our guilds, and guild commanders need to stand up and take charge, not pointing the finger at the pugs, or guilds, at the commanders, or the footsoldiers. I have played poorly and we all have essentially been sucked into bad habits.
This isn’t T7 anymore, the days of the small roaming groups are over, if you arent capping a camp or downing supply yaks, you really should consider getting on a commander. With a few exceptions, SF does not rely (historically) on guild groups. For the most part we have larger guilds that mix and match with the smaller guilds, that form our core groupings. So for all of us that stray off, coupled with the 50 pugs that are following the SM magnet mass, we are really doing our commanders a dis-service by not giving them the people they need with them to get things done.
Personally, I think we have done a satisfactory job to this point, but that is really only because as a whole we are thriving off of the hard work done by the minority. Vox is right, we are better than mindlessly standing around content to PvP whatever red tag that is in front of us.
Let’s all try to get back to what made us, the zergs! We got them on reset, that is because we have the guild groups forming the base and the pugs jumping in with them which forms our massive zergs. We got the numbers during the week (yes we have some coverage gaps), but I promise you if we form up and move as one the enemy will have hell to deal with.
(edited by King Amadaeus.8619)
King, i think we all need to do the same. On DH side, i seen alot of improvements. I saw people escorting dollys to SM. Only time will make us all better.
Been telling my SF peers for week now, attack IoJ at NA prime time……………
But again, they tunnel vision on DH, so we really can’t blame IoJ tunneling vision on us, right?
Also from what I have seen, DH players are a lot more skilled in deploy/using siege weapons. Other than placing like 9000 AC everywhere, you guys are great at fielding AC/ballistas in the middle of a Zerg vs Zerg fight. It’s a well deserved win imo.
SF…….I’m more or less disappointed most the time, its mostly about:
-20 man zerg have no supply for 3 ram for speedy gate take down (usually get 1 up, 2 is a luxury).
-5 unmanned AC on the wall, people choose to jump down to fight.
-People staring each other to throw prints out
-counter AC? what’s that? lets just zerg the door/wall

It would appear that t6 is where we (SF) belong, at least for now.
While I’m sure that no one would dispute our level of skill (as evidenced by our dominance when we are all online), we simply do not have the needed coverage throughout the week.
I have to assume that coverage will become even more of an issue as we climb in tier. (Otherwise I see no reason why DH is here instead of higher up the ladder, since I’ve never before seen coverage like theirs.)
Perhaps it is good that we halt our upward climb at this tier until such time as our coverage is not so much of a problem.
AFAIK, no one in SF wants to advance anyway :P. That was already fairly evident. We were already leary about leaving t7. Yes, we belong in t6 for sure, but we can do far better, especially during prime time. The response has been abysmally lackluster lately.
Can I get a score update please? At freaking work all day without knowing anything is killing me. I miss AC wars!!!! I mean WvW.

Absolutely. It’s actually quite funny because not long ago we were basically in the same situation you guys are in now. We moved up from t7 and would beat BP/AR at reset and then lose the lead by Monday morning and get stomped the rest of the week. And now I guess we’re the new BP of tier 6. Pretty interesting watching how servers gradually change like this.

Well it looks like someone needs to stoke the furnace and wreck the barge coming out of janthir. kitten I wish I was there fighting for my server….Work really gets in the way of play time.
Zinrae – you are exactly right on how we used to be in the same boat as SF during the week. SF your day crew will learn new strats over time to deal with being outnumbered.

Shoot…..IoJ is really creeping up on us aren’t they…. Well thats no good….
Looks like the PD Char army of hammers might just have to make an appearance tonight on the isle. I love hearing the pur of a cat’s claw hammer against a foe’s skull!!!!!!
I dred the reset night zergs from SF even more now…thx a lot Isle.
In all seriousness….Great job IOJ!
you know…i have to say that when they first came to our tier i really diddnt like IoJ. I dismissed them as whiny kitten #8230;but upon second glance, i think they do belong here. its like Chumbawumba in this Mofo! They get knocked down, but they get up again…and to kick in SF’s teeth no less!
Furnace needs to stoke the flames..cause they have gone limp on us.
I will say, this is the tier to watch right now.. forget watching the top tiers. Tier 6 is where its at! Sorrow of Dark Isle FTFW!

Very nice video. I haven’t seen too many decent staff ele wvw video’s before. Most of them have been boring where X person sits on the back line or oriented around tower defense. It was nice to see someone a bit more aggressive even if you are an IoJ =P
To this thread in general. I don’t know what everyone is complaining about and quite frankly I don’t care. All I can say is I have enjoyed this match immensely (though reset is rough) and have had some memorable small scale battles specifically with SF. I can’t see names but I won’t forget the PVP guild anytime soon and I believe the other was ND. I’ve encountered more small scale coordination than any wvw I can remember (though I’ve been gone two months XD) and was pretty impressed with the small scale parties with the fore mentioned tags. Now while everyone is busy bragging about individual skill, I will comment on that too. I have not had any 1vs1 that I survived or died, that made me think wow….that player was amazing and all this “I’m a kitten” is rather irrelevant as one player does not win WvW nor is this spvp. Also this is the internet, anyone can talk and make up anything. Do like the quoted user and provide a video putting your skills on display for all the world to marvel at.
Hey thanks for the props! It is awesome to see as we [ND] are really only a group of 5 that WvW (and I’m the worst of them, so it feels good lol), the rest of us PVE almost exclusively. SF really does just like to zerg, zerg, zerg so small groups need to take it upon themselves to do some work apart from the crowd.
As for complaints about double-teaming, LMAO. That’s the whole point of 3-faction RvR, some semblance of structural balance. The lower 2 team up on the leader, and then turn on each other, keeping matchups from stagnating. This has easily been the most fun tier I’ve been in (on SF), due to the constantly shifting dynamics.
Of course, official and immutable alliance are pretty lame, but the constant scoreboard-influenced temporary alliances of necessity keep things fresh IMO.
I like that all 3 factions represent fairly well compared to the lower 2 tiers. 3 way skirmishes are chaotic and interesting when they happen out in the field, and I’ve seen many more of these since hitting T6. See you out there tonight guys, it almost feels like home here.
Anyway, besides the two commanders that work with each other between IoJ and DH as mentioned, I doubt there’s actually an alliance as opposed to path of least resistance behavior (at least on IoJ’s side, dunno what DH’s excuse is).
.
Our oceanic crew is very little, if your night shift had any sense of defense, they wouldnt let us get that far, also your recapping crew need a lot of work and you guys will be fine.
And the 2 commanders that work with eachother? We merely poke fun at SF and threaten to attack each others stuff
Last night when we were holding on to all of SFs BL, the organisation from IoJ was just amazing, bay would be contested ‘can someone scout bay’ instantly ‘northgates fine’ ‘watergate fine’ ‘south gate fine’ from 3-4 different people.
On top of the great scouting, people were constantly upgrading camps and recapping them, and to be honest, we had maybe a max of 20 people most of the time, not even. Its quality you want guys, not quantity.
And to the people asking why was SF getting focused so hard, its not so much the overall score i was worried about, getting blue was the main objective.

Take a look, next week we will be blue…where can we go from there but up?
Here’s comes the “You are in second because DH helped you …” replies again. When SF comes second I will also say that DH helped you to be in second place. It’s a never ending cycle. So please let’s stop that. I just gave DH a heap of gold to help us.. ooops, did I just reveal the super secret alliance?
The thing is, there will always be something to whine if you are a whiner, there will be something to hate when you are a hater.
Let’s play and have fun.
PS: To the [SE] Mesmer Footman that I always encounter. I salute to your skill. You are insanely good. Hope I can kill you even once.

So no more Super Secret Alliance with DH next week? Good, now it’s gonna save me a lot of golds. Those DH pirates!

This post ^^
Now I can see not all people in SF are whiners and haters. <3
Quick question, what are the NA hours (PST) for Oceanic? Is it like 2am-5am PST?
I am not aware of the exact time but for us in the Philippines it’s -12 hours from US east coast.
Like if 12:00 noon Philippine Time = 12:00 midnight New York
you know…i have to say that when they first came to our tier i really diddnt like IoJ. I dismissed them as whiny kitten ..but upon second glance, i think they do belong here. its like Chumbawumba in this Mofo!
Jaxx
It’s because we are so used to being last so there’s nothing for us to go but up.

I’m going to miss my gold. Did it get lost in the mail?

Well back down to red obviously.

Like the PM saying you killed a guildie of mine just to find out that was me. There is no alliance as i have taken IoJ stuff and will be a focus now that you guys are creaping up on us. Just 1 NA guild of 30 or so in wvw could help out IoJ alot.. I think KING should xfer to IoJ :P
Dear entire EBG population of IoJ who just zerged Pang from both sides into our superior bag farm for fifteen minutes while most of our forces waypointed to other ventures,
Thank you.
Dear IoJ commander who suicided a golem into Pang,
I love you.

DH paid me 100g to destroy those catapults. I cannot turn down 100g.
:(
Sorry! Next time I’ll ask for more for each SF I kill.
Wishing our neighbors in t5 a great match this week. See you soon.
So SF… How’s that coming along? From your friends in Ehmry Bay.
I think KING should xfer to IoJ :P
We dont need training that bad do we?
http://mos.millenium.org/matchups#NA
DH take note, we dont need to get to first in overall score to become green, we keep gaining rating and make you guys lose more, itll be an express route to green for IoJ by the end of next week. Game on guys
Ilang pinoy ang nasa IoJ? kamusta mga kababayan?!?!
