Ok its time for some truths/realizations
I’m about 60% WvW, 39% PvE, and 1% SPvP. I just think ANet as a whole needs to focus on WvW more so than SPvP because GW2 is never going to be an eSport as they so desired. WvW population as a whole far exceed that of SPvP simply because you don’t see that many guilds recruit for SPvP. For every 1 guild recruiting purely for SPvP there’s at least 4 or 5 guilds recruiting for WvW or WvW+PvE. The Queue system is a mess, unbalance server match up, lack of an automated balance system, Orb of Power still m.i.a, and outmanned buff is a joke. But with all that said, ANet continues to cater to SPvP when the majority of the game’s population is in WvW and PvE.
Give WvW players one, maybe 2 new zones, and we will do more with those 2 zones than PvE players could do with an entire continent.
truth!
No the amount of zones is PERFECT.
1 for each server and 1 middle zone. Do NOT mess up that formula!
The only thing I would like to see is maybe making those zones LARGER. Reward groups/solo’rs for being able to upkeep 100% swiftness. Make it so its not always about numbers but mobility of your forces.
Then flesh out that WXP in creating less for being in a zerg. You’ll have to identify what you constitute as this games core group size is. Like in DAoC it was 8 man…..granted the most you could put in a single group was 8, but it worked for that game. In this game 5 man is a lil small and I’m leaning towards 10-15ish area.
Anet has the groundwork for a great lasting experience let’s see if they can put it together
There are a lot of things I would like to see changed. (*cough, 1 hit door contesting)
But, even though I thought I read that they couldn’t do it somewhere (I am getting old after all), I would like to see the maps expanded. Not so much as in new content (which would be nice), but super sized.
The server borderlands, for example, they could expand the distance between the objectives by 2x the distance it is now. And, for EB, I would say somewhere between 2x and 5x the distance. Other than seeing a 70 man zerg, nothing about the current play feels massive.

ANet has explicitly stated several times that their paleolithic game engine is not capable of handling maps any larger than the current ones. There is zero chance that we will ever see larger maps in WvW.

Thus the reasoning for my post.
Get a non kitten engine to support WvW.
The GW2 engine may not be optimized all that well for 240 living people piling up on top of one another and interacting in a completely chaotic and exponential fashion, but I’m going to take a guess that if you just had a thousand bots, all identical, standing around doing nothing… that the game engine would render and handle it just fine because none of the actual CPU load would be present.
You are more or less mirroring what they’ve said on their Kickstarter. I am all for conspiracy theories, but CSE was very clear about what their tech demo was accomplishing and what it wasn’t accomplishing. Stating otherwise based only on a guess comparison between GW2’s engine and CU’s custom engine is indeed misleading.

What I will add to this thread is kicking a little money CUs way to get it funded is one of the best ways to get other companies to know they need to up there game in the three realm battle meta. Money talks and if enough people show that what we have isn’t good enough (by backing something else) companies will need to adapt. (See WoW for adapting to trends they have done it well for years)
It was 2 vs 20 but its ok we got’em both!
Enough maps to rotate a few out of play for a week or so?
SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY
