I’ve noticed what I think is an exploit or hack in the last week or two..

I was idling at the chest just observing and I saw a group of level 2s pop in from no where (not mesmer portal) and then disappear just as quickly..

teleport hack?

anyone else? i saw it a few times and wasn’t even able to screenshot or report it because it happened so quickly

Could they log at that spot and relog maybe? Many people have alts at the end of jps on chest and log in with them daily.

Not in W3 they can’t. Log out and you get put back where you entered W3.

You can’t log in to the WvW chests. You enter WvW only by queueing and start at your team’s hill.

It’s probably someone using a hack to teleport to the chest’s coordinates. Just report them when you see it.

Their disappear could be way point.

Not sure about appearing depending upon where you are at and how many people are around.

Ahm .The op didn’t mention anything about being in WvW and i just assumed this happened in a pve zone where you can perfectly do that.I personally do it on some ore node when i feel lazy since i have 5 alts and barely ever use them.

If this happened in WvW then the op should specify that but without having that information i just tried to answer him with what i had .Not everything is a hack so stop being paranoid plz

Edit: On the other hand this is in the WvW forums.Sry lol .
But i still think the op should specify that just to be sure.Also could be some invisibility ending and then using waypoint?Just trying to figure out a scenario here.

Easier said than done. I have seen teleporters at resource nodes in PvE. They are there and gone before I can click them than click on their portrait to bring up “report player”. If their portrait would stay up after they moved out of range, it wouldn’t be as hard to report them.

There are fountains in the EB jumping puzzle that give 5 minutes of stealth. I expect what you saw were people coming out of stealth to open the chest, and then waypointing out. Please don’t report that – it’s not hacking.

you dont need to come out of fountain stealth to get the chest in eb. in fact, you probably shouldnt.

There are programs around that allow you to submit co-ordinates to the server, porting your character to them. It’s popular with quickly doing the puzzles for badges, as well as getting to unreachable areas to set up siege (arrow carts, mainly). Clearly against the ToS so watch for their names when they pop up.

I was told that your location is client-side, meaning that if you knew how to, you could change it at any time you wanted. Of course, if you were caught, then you would obviously be banned. But when I saw bots appear and then disappear at gathering nodes, I had assumed they logged in and then back out, but a guildie explained that it was actually them changing their location as soon as they finished gathering from that node. This is also how people get into keeps and towers with mesmers to portal others in.

Assuming they arn’t hiding inside before the cap! Don’t report all mesmers!

There are several explanations as given above as to why you didn’t see them. At level 2 all the more reason to be invisible. And a player might just have uncloaked from the fountain buff, not thinking there was any danger.

I always try to whisper folks before reporting if something looks weird. Sometimes they have explanations that make perfect sense.

Player appears at node/chest: right click, open report.

Player disappears again: submit the report.

You only get a second or so to open the form, but once it’s open you can submit even if they disappear again.
