Attached are a collection of charts showing the queue size of each map for a given world. These charts are for the European worlds.

This data was collected from 8:00PM Sept 14th to 9:30PM Sept 18th. I believe the time zone listed is UTC, but I’m not 100% sure about that.

There can be up to four lines on each chart, one for each map that world is playing on. A line is only present for a map if it was full and there were people waiting in a queue. The map abbreviations are:
EB – Eternal Battlergrounds
RB – Red Team Borderlands
BB – Blue Team Borderlands
GB – Green Team Borderlands

Be sure to pay close attention to the vertical axis on each chart as the scale changes from world to world. Some worlds have hundreds of people queued for all four maps while other worlds might peak at a hundred in queue on one or two maps.

Unfortunately I just realized I didn’t put the world names on the chart. A chart’s filename matches the world it represents, so you’ll need to look at the end of the url when looking at a chart (or before clicking on it) to see what world it represents.

We thought these charts would be useful information for people to see, as it helps illustrate why some worlds have much longer waits than others. Hopefully it will also help some people decide to leave some of those higher population worlds for one of the worlds with smaller (or no) queues, which would reduce the queue pressure on the overloaded world and help provide more manpower for the smaller world.

Some other information we gathered from this timespan:
- Almost 30% of the total players who logged into the game queued up for WvW
- About 3% of the total players who logged in and queued never got in.

We’re completely ecstatic about the first number and not happy at all about the second. We’re looking at a number of short term and long term solutions that should help make that second number go down even if the first one goes up. As we make progress on those solutions we will keep you updated.

Well if they beat you during prime time it does not explain anything as you all have max players in borderlands ..

As for their French Canadian players capping everything during night .. thats another story.

During prime time the servers with less ques should be the top one if the guilds they have on are any good as that means you got majority of players in.

Having 200+ ques only mean you cant get all your members on the same map eg worse gameplay.

For the love of all that is good, start pitting servers with similer que times throughout the day. IT SINT FUN to have a server tyhat has a great deal more night-crew than you and everything you worked for, literally EVERYTHING is gone by morning.

If you want that 30% to continue, please balance by que time of day as PRIORITY over server point accumulation. *

The interesting bit is cross-referencing where server A has a queue to get into a given map but server B doesn’t. Those are, obviously, the times when server A has max pop on the map and server B is outnumbered.

Learn to think? The graphs show that VS has a queue to EB for pretty much the entire 24 hours, meaning VS has maximum players on EB playing all the time. That is clearly not the case for either FS or Desolation. You can see that the other 3 maps also feature a longer timeframe of maximum players on the map than FS or Deso. During prime times, FS tends to hold the biggest tally points with VS and desolation alternating places. It is more probable that without night capping, FS would be leading in score. Now I don’t know how much Canadians are playing on VS or whether it’s true that university starts in October for the French, but I guess we’ll see about that soon. Can’t comment on flying hacks by FS, I play on Desolation. Although I do know that because of some bug we couldn’t cap Desolation Garrison yesterday so FS didn’t even need to stay inside the keep to defend.

While the data only represents queue length, you can draw more than one conclusion from that data. In this case, whenever the queue length drops to zero, it means that the number of players in the game is less than or exactly equal to the maximum. How much of a number advantage at any given moment obviously isn’t expressed, but it is most likely proportional to the length of time between the queue being greater than zero. All you can say is that for the time periods where it is greater than zero, the teams are numerically evenly matched (however one team will most likely hold most of the map and all of the orbs from the night before). Vizunah Square are fielding a full server on EB 23 hours a day, compared to about 18 hours for desolation (interestingly a difference of 5 hours, which is the same as the time zone difference between France and Canada)

Quick analysis of the data for Monday 17th September as it relates to the Underworld/Arborstone/Jade Sea match (approximate times only). In context of this post, ‘outnumbered’ is when one server has max pop and the other doesn’t.

On Underworld Borderlands:
Arborstone outnumbers Jade Sea for 6 hours
Underworld outnumbers Arborstone for 2 hours and Jade Sea for 7 hours
Jade Sea outnumbers nobody

On Jade Sea borderlands:
Arborstone outnumbers Jade Sea for 5 hours and Underworld for 8 hours
Jade Sea outnumbers Underworld for 4 hours
Underworld outnumbers nobody

On Arborstone borderlands:
Arborstone outnumbers Jade Sea for 8 hours; Underworld never achieves max pop
Jade Sea outnumbers nobody

On Eternal Battlegrounds:
Arborstone outnumbers Jade Sea for 3 hours and Underworld for 3 hours
Jade Sea outnumbers nobody
Underworld outnumbers nobody

If nothing else, this rather proves that the whole ‘ermagherd Jade Sea is seekrit ally of Arborstone’ rumour is a load of bullkitten.

Lol, and you’re proving us that your premades that managed to get everyone inside the battlegrounds “off-prime” time, owned what? empty zones? And its not like on prime-time they did not had alot of pugs also queueing (as you can see on the graphs). Don’t really understand you bro.

And i’m not even from Desolation/Shiverpeaks… its just that your logic beats me lol

As far as i can see Riverside [DE] and VS should be fighting each other mostly since there’s people queueing all around the clock there.

That needs something a bit more difficult to obtain. They would need the ability to predict how long someone is going to stay. Unless they start kicking people out after a certain amount of time but nobody would like that.

Well, considering that Piken Square queues are always very small and considering Ring of Fire and Vabbi ones, our 20k difference to Rof and 120k to Vabbi don’t sound that bad !
Too bad that Miller’s Sound, our current opponent, has got even larger queues…oh well, 3rd place here we go again!

If that would be the case, then you should see other peak in queue. But they just are not. It is just one block which covers a larger amount of time which can be explained by a larger queue. Larger queue means it will take longer for queue to fade out so in the end, more time covered.

RoS and FoW servers have fallen victim of the free transfers. Each week players transfer to the 3rd lowest server to experience satisfaction of massive overpower against these two servers. That has lead to people no longer playing on RoS and FoW and WvW guilds transferring out for more balanced match ups.
