This could be quite hard to code for the devs, not that I know much about coding.

Think it’s fine as it is. If you’re smart enough to use the invisibility you shouldn’t ever die (apart from the fire room).

What profession actually just wants Power/Toughness/Vit gear anyway? I wouldn’t use it on the classes I have at 80, anyway (Necro/Warrior). I doubt I’ll ever use any of my badges on my Mesmer or Theif when they’re 80, either.

I agree with this as well, and for another very important reason.

In February new things will be added to WvW, hopefully gear and rewards for badges.

However, to get the items it will be balanced around the assumption that we do jumping puzzles for the badges. This is because if it’s balanced around us getting badges from enemy drops, then it’ll be very easy to get the items with the jumping puzzles.

Meaning, if you’re someone who just WvWs all day long and goes for the win, you’ll be screwed over. If you’re someone who doesn’t like WvW but just goes there for the JP, then you’ll be in good shape.

That’s the wrong way to handle it.

It’s just annoying especially on the higher end servers that almost ever other /map sentence is someone looking for a Mesmer. :P There’s so much stuff going on I’d like to read battle tactics not spam from lazy people…

(Also @Cover Girl, I don’t care if this has been posted before. This is just me trying to be vocal, hoping this gets through to the devs and hoping for it to change…maybe for the Feb. update and for anyone else that feels the same way to speak up! )

I agree with what Alarox says too.
That’s how I looked at the Legendaries at first…you should fight for them. Not just get it by easy rides. So yeah I hope they fix this for the patch so that people actually fighting for their server get rewarded instead of the others.

The simple solution is to take badges and siege out of the jumping puzzle chest and replace the loot with typical chest rolls. Then just make a WvW daily achievement that awards the badges and siege instead. /shrug

Daily achievement could be like: kill 10 players, escort 5 dolyaks, capture 5 objectives, destroy 3 siege weapons.

I think that this would work out well because it promotes good habits without encouraging people to mismanage updates or siege. Allowing any objective to count would get more people thinking about attacking/defending camps, escorting dolyaks will get people in the habit of watching supply routes, and the kill/destroy will just come anyway.

Personally I’d rather have people contributing and getting bonus siege/badges for their efforts than screwing around in a jumping puzzle, but that’s just me. Give people two random pieces of siege, 10 badges, experience and 5s for completing their daily. If nothing else it’ll help people level up if they plan on only playing WvW. Even giving a level’s worth of experience would be fine as it’d still take at least 40 days for anyone to hit 80 this way.

The reason why I’m not suggesting defend objectives is because the daily needs to be able to be accomplished solo or in a small group (just like the PvE and PvP dailies). Defending a point happens in 2-3 minute intervals and can be hard to do by yourself, which hurts lower tier and lower population servers.

Comparatively, flipping five sentries/camps is very easily accomplished solo, as is escorting dolyaks and getting player kills. Clearing siege off of undefended tower walls isn’t exactly rocket science either.

Personally I think the “pvp” jump puzzles are a interesting idea, you can have interesting out of the ordinary pvp, but badges should be only from player kills, not chests or npc loot.

I also dont understand why they share the wPvP instance, since people that do this jump puzzles (not all) most often then not are not interested in pvp or wPvP just want to farm the badges for the legendary/some specific item.

Unfortunatly if they didnt drop badges/siege the amount of people that do this JP would drop considerably, so it would never happen.

Step 2: Make a WvW Eternal Battlegrouds and Borderlands overflow maps composed of random players from all servers, so people in the queue can do something WvW related, and not sit around doing nothing.
Step 3: Allow you to queue for the WvW overflow directly.
Step 4: Remove jumping puzzles from the maps that are used for the actual server matchups, while keeping the ones in the overflow.
Step 5: Move the EB entrance portals to the jumping puzzles into the spawn areas, and add ones in for the borderlands puzzle in the spawn.
Step 6: Watch as people that want to WvW can actually do WvW and avoid queues, and those that want to jumping puzzles can do so without hindering their server.

Optionally, do what OP said and remove badges from the JP chests. Personally, I’d rather them stay unless they buff the drop rate on badges.

Placing JP in WvW area worst idea ever. They should remove JP out of WvW and reward different things then badges and siege. They should increase siege print drop rate in WvW also. WvW doesn’t even have rewards and it is consuming way too much money with upgrades and siege expenses.

I totally agree. Queues for eternal battlegrounds are very long and it’s annoying to know that some of the players in there aren’t even here for pvp.

They could handle it similarly to how SecondLife manages logins. Add a drop-down menu next to the shiny “GO!” button with options for WvW, sPVP and “last location” which is where you were in PvE last.

Remove JP from wvw, make each one an instance accessed from Lions Arch that you can only enter once per day (so you can do 4 a day) and remove a pile of people from wvw that have no interest in wvw and can royally screw your server’s wvw week by preventing wvw’rs from defending their lands.

There was one point last week when EB was showing as full, yet we had 30 actually doing wvw, all the rest of the spots were taken up by two PVE guilds and their commanders doing the jump puzzles. Needless to say map chat was filled with ‘any mesmer in JP’ and none of them came to help even when overlook was attacked and taken (as they knew we had few actually wvw’rs at that point).

JP ruins wvw and has NO place in it- please remove it (and stop making more jump puzzles, this is not Jump Puzzle 2)
