Can i just confirm that from now on Reset will be at 1am GMT+0?

If so thats sucks!

Reset is and always has been ~00:00 UTC. It’s never changed and does not observe daylight savings because daylight savings change at different dates in different parts of the world and in different directions (or don’t change at all).

Still midnight GMT. GMT is not affected by daylight savings time.

If it doesn’t change reset is at 1am British Summer Time and 2am Central European Summer Time.

Still 00:00gmt.

Eh? All the dailies and other resets been happening at 1:00am. We sure it won’t reset at 1:00am Uk time? o.0

For UK: Reset happens now at 01:00 British Summer Time (= GMT+1 = UTC+1)
For Central Europe: Reset happens now at 02:00 Central European Summer Time (= CET+1 = UTC+2)

check your current UTC offset to be sure when you’ll have reset in case your country did change the time (already)

There is absolutely no good reason to use UTC as the WvW reset time. A reset at 2am is just plain anti-social and while I did it last year when the game was fresh and new, I won’t be staying up for the resets any longer.

1800GMT for the European servers, and 1800PST for the North American servers. This will bring the reset times inline with peak playing times and would almost certainly increase participation on WvW.

European and American servers aren’t connected in any way, you stated this often enough. There’s absolutely no reason the reset has to take place at two in the morning for most of Europe, this is discouraging and unsocial as most servers are doing reset raids. It was late already, now it is simply too late for most, people won’t wait in LA for such a long time just to play for an hour until they have to go to bed. You said WvW will never be balanced when it comes to night capping, fine for me, servers that have a night shift deserve a lead. But don’t intentionally make it worse than it already is.
DST is stupid and shouldn’t exist in the first place, we can’t change that though and one in the morning already is late, there’s absolutely no reason to blame DST for this problem. It’s totally your fault.

It’s just one of the issues of having a globally played game.

But seeing as we have EU and US regions, perhaps separate reset times shoudl be in order. Though this will affect those who have joined guilds that are in the other region.

I would assume that there is a small amount of manual work that usually needs to be done to deal with WvW resets – accordingly ANet would likely be unable to arrange to change the WvW resets (assuming it’s even technically possible to have two separate times) outside of the normal working day in Pacific time.

I know, I am just saying that there are very valid reasons for having DST in many parts of the world. To not keep it uniform would arguably complicate it a lot more than having to adjust your clock twice a year.

His initial response was tongue-in-cheek. I highly doubt he feels that WvW reset-time-induced-confusion is important enough to base DST decisions on.

I’d agree, but I don’t think my workplace or college would like it.

I agree in dichting stupid daylight saving time… but they wont hear on my decision.

So it was hard already to start at 1.15 AM but now at 2.15 AM its ridiculous. You will loose players for this. A bit more care for youre europ gamers would be great.

That’s a bit dramatic. I don’t think anyone will -quit- playing just because of when there’s a reset. That’s an annoyance, sure, but it’s not game-breaking to the point of people quitting altogether.

Reset time will always be inconvenient for someone, no matter the time. At least it resets on the weekend when a good portion of people don’t have class/work – think if it did it Wednesday at 1am.

Edit: I do agree, though, that DST should be kicked out.

What sense does it make to use UTC for the European servers?? You guys have stated many times that the EU and NA servers are totally separate, so they only thing I can think of is that it’s actually people in ANet HQ that are flipping the reset switch and they don’t want to have to come in at some other odd time to do it. If that’s the case, it makes you look awfully indifferent to your European customer base.

Reset says 4 hours from now (17:00 CST). It used to be 19:00 CST.

It’s wrong. As was mentioned before, it’s always 0:00 UTC.
